Back in August, we went on a road trip from Brisbane to Mackay.
If you take the highway, it's about 1000km and 12 hours from start to finish.
We took the scenic route and did roughly 1700km and it took us eight days.
This short film is very different to anything we have done before, and we have the Overland Film Fest to thank for that. Unfortunately, we didn't make the finals, but we learnt a lot in the process of the making of this short film.

Wow, when you said you were going to check out this route a little deeper, I wasn’t thinking 12 days of camping!! So hard core. Learned so many interesting things. Love learning new things from locals too.

Your footage is incredible! I love the drone shots and the closeups of your tires as you go through the dirt. I also noticed the vegemite sandwiches haha my co-worker from Australia used to talk about it. You guys saw so many animals 😍

Awesome vid - coming from Grasstree Beach but now in Brisbane, like you I've grown tired of trecking up and down the Bruce Hwy, you've inspired me to make my next trip north a more meandering route.
