What's good. I'm a traveler and a huge fan of aviation, mostly geared toward the airlines. In this channel you will mostly see trip reports on various airlines you've probably heard of. Though I don't fly nearly as much as other flight reporters I try to cover as many airlines/aircraft types as I can. You may also see model unboxing videos on here. With this channel I hope to share my passion for flying with as many aviation-lovers as it reaches, so if you like what I post please consider subscribing! :)
One interesting thing about this plane is that a month after it entered service with Southwest, N871HK, their Mustard Rocket livery 737 Max 8, took it's first flight.
@@K4Ediamond I know I want to get a ride on that plane specifically, given the livery. I have always liked that livery, but I do remember some people saying it was ugly when it was Southwest's only livery.
As someone who lives in Fargo, ND (also used to live across the river in Moorhead, MN)… I am familiar with Fargo’s Hector International Airport. Most times I’m going from Fargo to Las Vegas. The most recent flight out of the airport was the Christmas week of 2023… went from Fargo to Arizona to Las Vegas and then road-tripped to Cedar City, Utah where my grandparents on my Mom’s side lives. Actually came back home hours ago from a road trip out there! Not entirely sure what the 2024 holiday travel will look like, but I can confirm that you are correct. They are expanding Fargo Hector International Airport… they actually started construction not that long ago (in July) and it should be completed sometime in 2027 (assuming the weather doesn’t screw anything up)
I fly air New Zealand reasonably often, more as a result of lack of other choices to where I fly. They are efficient and safe but horrendously expensive and you don’t get much in the way of service, even if you are on the works deluxe fare. I would call the service “sterile” and cold. I don’t enjoy flying them. Fiji Airways are way better, friendly and great inflight service. They are not that great for timekeeping with delays being common, but I would take them over Air NZ any day
This flight was in August of 2022, the connecting leg after my LGA-DFW flight which you may remember from a trip report. Only recently I uncovered the landing footage.
QANTAS has been really screwed over BIG time by their over paid fatcat CEO top brass, too busy looking after their share holder interest & f**k the passengers!
Any longer than 1hr and these 737s are torture on a full flight. If you have a free middle seat the space is bearable but thats a lottery! Qantas economy on the 787 or a330-300 are superior....avoid the a330- 200 has exactly the same.seats as the 737, Meals are sometimes good sometimes awful like this sector. Safe travels!
Glad it's not just me who had a bad experience, their widebody aircraft are fine but the 737 is horrendous as far as legroom. The food I was served was actually alright but full flight very uncomfortable especially after coming off a red eye from Hong Kong on QF that evening
@@duaneowens7777 Sorry for late response. I don't remember them checking carry ons at the gate, and they probably didn't need to given that it was a 777. What I meant was that they asked me to check my bag at the check in counter (I had to go back over there with my tour group, long story).
Definitely a better option than Qantas while QF is inclusive with food and beverage unlike ANZ where you have to purchase a works package ANZ I feel is much more comfortable as far as legroom and aesthetics in the cabin. I have flown on the A321 Neo also flown their premium products business and premium economy trans tasman. There are a few fifth freedom flights from Auckland to Australia which are also great products from China Airlines BNE to AKL CES SYD AKL and Latam. Great review :)
I actually took Qantas on the opposite route 3 days after this (the video that will be uploaded next) on a B737. And I agree with you that Air New Zealand is the better option. About the fifth freedom flights, Qantas itself also has one. It goes New York-Auckland-Sydney (in both directions). Given the poor legroom and inflight entertainment on the Qantas 737 I would have rather taken that fifth freedom one, as it uses the 787. Thanks for watching!
There is an important channel announcement at the end of this video. Also I think I accidentally scheduled this video to go public 12 hours earlier than I intended lol. Explains the unusual upload time.
It's a pity Air New Zealand ditched their flight magazine around the COVID period, they claim the magazines removal was due to covid., but i suspect it was another cost cutting stunt to save money on producing their magazine.
Awesome flight review of United Airlines from Denver - Frankfurt, i flew on United from Auckland NZ to LAX return., think it was on a 747-400 back in 1993 lol a long time ago i know. But the service/food and flight was great🛫👍
@@brian402 Good you got a chance on United’s 747 before it was gone. I did that route too on Air NZ! The only 747 I’ve ever been on was a Lufthansa one in 2017.
I flew on Air New Zealand from Gatwick UK to LAX, before Air New Zealand stopped flying to the UK., awesome flight/service/flight crew and food. Have flown on Air New Zealand to FiJi and Australia on various type of aircraft, enjoyed your flight review., nice video footage dude!🛫👍
Very informative review, I'm flying on one of their A320s soon so hope I get a similar experience. What are your thoughts on the NEXT product making its way to the UA Airbus fleet as it stacks up to the MAX 8 that you've flown?
@@AirlineFlyer123 Glad to hear it was helpful. The A320 should have the same product as the one in this video other than lacking power outlets in economy (unless you get one of the few NEXT A320s). And speaking of the Airbus planes being retrofitted with NEXT, I am really looking forward to it. I’ve flown it on the MAX only, and sadly it’s not the most comfortable I’ve seen but it’s no worse than the old products (probably still better than the old ones, actually). Nevertheless the next interior makes United much more enjoyable to fly on.
I love it when United offers me a lounge trip pass add-on, even to a Basic Econ ticket, very useful during long layovers at SFO or a same-day return at night. $40 for a breakfast buffet on arrival, lunch buffet a few hours later AND finally a pre-flight dinner buffet that evening is a steal.
@@danielhaywood641 I looked it up and I found out an Air New Zealand 787 doing this same flight had to do that, but it actually happened over a month after I took this flight. Or was there another incident before that maybe?
UA went on a narrowbody second hang buying spree in the 2010s. Primarily 319s and 73Gs. Curious as to why you gave a 7 on the timeliness if the departure issue was not UAs fault and you still got into SFO 10 minutes early?
Oh I see. United acquired N874UA in 2020 but I assume it was one of the later ones then. Good question about the timeliness score. 7/10 is actually the typical score I give for on-time arrivals. I've taken quite a few flights that have arrived VERY early (I'm talking even 45 minutes early), and flights like that would get a 10/10 for timely performance. I also take the departure time into account, though like you said, in this case it wasn't United's fault which I probably should have addressed at the end. And yes, I very much appreciate United's on-time performance for this flight, though I may not have been as clear of about it as I should have. Thanks for watching!
Sorry if I sound hoarse at the beginning... I was losing my voice and didn't realize it until later in the recording process. Also I think I found out what the deal with the nose cone was. Apparently airlines sometimes switch parts between aircraft. I've seen the same with with a lot of United engine cowlings.
