Should you avoid the B737 Max? Is United's new interior a massive step-up for the airline? In this trip report, I fly on the controversial Boeing plane (after it was swapped to a Max 8 from a -900ER), and I'll be talking about my opinions on the situation and what I think of the new United "NEXT" interior. This is the second time on this channel where I take flight 778 DEN-BZN.

I have no problem with the Max. The problems are over blown

The hate on Boeing has gone too far. Boeing has been blamed for many incidents that turned out to not be their fault, such as wheels falling off due to maintainence, compressor stalls, engines catching on fire, engine issues causing groundings for airlines like Air New Zealand, the UA2477 runway excursion, LA800 which turned out to be caused by input onto the yoke, and more recently, SQ321 and the death associated with that incident. Also, people were quick to blame Boeing for the death of “Boeing whistleblower” Joshua Dean when in actuality, his allegations were mainly on Spirit Aerosystems and one of his allegations is that Spirit did Boeing dirty by hiding info from Boeing. And for those commenters wondering why Boeing isn’t to blame for engine problems, these engines are not Boeing’s designs. For those arguing that Boeing is responsible because they should’ve vetted the engine makers better, riddle me this: where was Airbus when QF32 and AF66 happened, where was Airbus when a China Eastern A330 had an engine explode last November, and where is Airbus when the PW1000G engines are causing problems for many of their new narrowbody jets?

Looking back on this entire situation now, I actually agree with you that the hate on Boeing has gone too far. One thing I can say for certain is that yes, people have become way to quick to blame boeing for seemingly everything (I was dumbfounded when I saw some of them blaming Boeing for SQ321). I think with the already-existing concerns caused by JT610 and ET302, it was likely inevitable that a 737 max incident like AS1282 would stain Boeing's reputation to the point where any aviation incident could put them in a negative light (especially to those who don't know much about aviation in general, what causes aviation incidents, or turbulence). Personally, my concerns with Boeing are regarding things like asking for safety exemptions on the MAX7 anti-ice system (though they did drop those), and whistleblowers reporting possible fuselage gaps in 787 dreamliners. But I agree with you that the stigma around Boeing has gone overboard, though I understand where it comes from.

@@K4EdiamondDon't get me wrong, Boeing deserves the loss of trust they got from the 3 incidents that are their fault. What they don't deserve though is the further loss of trust fron the incidents that are not their fault. Other exqmples include the Southwest engine cover coming off due to maintainence, other recent Southwest incidnets, Fedex 767 incident, Transair 737-300 fire, United 757 losing wheel, Air Europa 787 turbhlence incident, Latam 777 tail strike, Lufthansa 747-8 touch and go, Atlas Air 747 engine failure, Vance 737 incident, Swiss 777 runway excursion, Korean Air MAX incident, etc.

Never short on the United shade! 😂 I flew on N12216 which is a -800, from ORD to OMA, and it had these IFE interiors. Shocked! United's been impressing me lately as well. Def like their a la carte add on's.

Why not fly on a ww2 plane? Boeing made multiple bombers, why not fly them?
