In early 2015 we decided to change our life style and head more towards a “pay as you go”, one that hopefully will take us on many an adventure. So we bought a bright red fire truck with intentions of taking her out of retirement and giving the girl a fresh start by converting her into a full time expedition truck camper.
We travel and explore old forgotten places far & wide, Urbex too.

Blimey Dave you seem to be following me but 50 odd years later. You stayed in my old haunt of Bamberg and now through Hungary into Romania. Been there, done that in 1972 when we waited 9 hours on the Austrian/Hungarian border until they let us across the Iron Curtain. Followed the Danube all the way to the Black Sea and then south through Bulgaria to Istanbul. And all in my little VW Beatle. Great vids see you in Walton sometime? On our way to Scotland👍
Blimey Dave, those Hungarian roads must have reminded you of driving around Dearne Valley, the roads did look better than Wath, West Melton & Mexborough. I love your videos, but you talked of the lake etc, just try and add a few pictures here and there, it sounded tremendous. Safe travels. One day when you are home & bored, if you want to hook up and have coffee that would be great. Starbucks at Birdwell maybe.
The roads are probably better than the Rotherham area as you’re not whacking the trees with your wing mirrors! 🤣 understand about the pictures, I’ll do more 😊👍🏼 coffee yes that would be great, I’ve just landed back in the uk as a matter of fact. So I may get a little free time this weekend..
@Overlandtraveladventure sounds good, well enjoy being home briefly and hopefully a coffee may be in order. My vehicle is going up for MOT today at 15:30, so fingers crossed.
Thank you for sharing your explore of this place. I find it oddly interesting mooching around places that are slowly being reclaimed by nature. Take care and best wishes from Carmarthenshire, Wales.😊👍

I got a flight to Romania and bought my truck there and then had it shipped back to the UK. Now nearly fitted out and looking forward to travels. People were friendly there. Have fun mate 😁
Hi Dave, everything is crap without Helen. But you'll meet up again soon. Have a great time. We're picking up our camper on Friday. Then we'll fit the roof rack and the stair platform at the entrance. After that we'll do some off-road driving training and then we'll finally set off. All the best, and thanks for your Video! Frank
The general public doesn't realize that to the actors and directors making a movie is job; ordinary in many ways. As such, they never give consideration to preserving sets and/or props. After Cecil B. DeMille made the first version of The Ten Commandments, the sets were abandoned in the California desert. There has been an effort to try to unearth them but legal issues have interfered
I would like to think that the pink rooms were treatment rooms to a larger complex, steam, banya sauna rooms. Both German and Soviet troops were treated with water therapy during world war 2. Pastel pinks greens etc where used to calm, they also use colours of that nature in certain prisons. Take your pick.
One of the three escaping was a Dutchman, Bram van der Stolk. Pilot of the Dutch Airforce in 1940 and after the surrender he joined No 91 squadron of the RAF and became an ace. After the great escape he joined the RAF again. And became the most decorated Dutchman in history.
Considering the economic state of Britain it is hardly surprising that Stratford is badly organized. The GDP of Britain is dropping year on year...once again not surprising..given the large corruption in London And it is about to get even worse now that Israeli influence has brought Starmer along. German organisational ability makes all a "no contest"....Straford should be moved to the South like the rock concert.....in more harmonious surroundings. Etc etc etc.
Stratford show ground is very poor for hosting anything, especially when you’re taking vehicles… the number of times we’ve not bothered going as it’s been raining that week.. but still it wouldn’t compete with The Abenteuer Allrad, Overlanding is just much more in Europe than the uk…. Like a lot of things we’re years behind…
This movies were so good and loved by everyone due to simple fact that this stories were not told by Hollywood movie standards, acting, long camera shot, no time limitations, close ups longer then normal, story's its self were just outstanding going from one situation to another taking turns and leading you to some discovery on the way and so on, just outstanding story teller like in the book, slowly page after page together with greatest music you could get, music and picture molded together , what a treat it was to see this in the cinema in panoramic view glued to the chair in dark room waiting for few dollars more to be picked up by loved character. I was one of them in that kino, well we used go to KINO not cinema 🙂 different times different world 😉😉😊😊❤❤ Thanks for your video and all best with your traveling 🙂
On a cold day, a hot mug of OXO and some bread and butter go down a treat. That's if the bloody dogs don't get in first. Cuppa soups are always in our van. A tin of spam or two. Definitely can't do without me, weetabix. And last but not least, loads of dog food.
Nice meeting you, Overland adventures. We also do Urbex, but only the simple one's. Next week in our vlog, we visit "Vogelsang" a former Sovjet base, near Wünsdorf. Thumbs up for Overland.
I saw another guy do a video when it was overgrown and let go. I know that there was efforts to restore it but money from the government was halted. I am glad to see it has been redone.
