@SIgthesolotraveler …. hello i’m trying my best to find the travel bag with chain , so i too can enjoy without fear … please give name so i can buy myself one ,, TY
The gluten-free pizza? I agree with you. It did not look appetizing at all and I was disappointed when I saw it. But I decided to try it. Yes, it tasted good but it still needed cheese. I would be careful not to order it that way again! LOL
Hello, i watched several of your Norwegian Breakaway vlogs before cruising on Norwegian and on the Breakaway (in a solo cabin) for the first time last month. Those vlogs were very helpful/informative. Thanks for your positive and thorough content!
Thank you so much, Corey for the feedback! So glad you found it helpful and I do hope you enjoyed the ship. Everyone’s perspective is different so you always have to try for yourself. Did you participate in the solo meetups? Those were the best things about the cruise to me. How was your experience? I would love to hear!
@SIGCruiser Thanks for responding to my post! I was on the Breakaway from June 23-30. I absolutely loved the experience! I loved the entertainment, the wider variety of complimentary food options (in comparison to other lines I've sailed on), and the entertainment (which Norwegian--or at least the Breakaway--does an exceptional job of pulling a lot of it to the center of the ship--in what I guess is the atrium area--for easy access). I was very pleasantly surprised by the very high level of fun on the ship. My studio cabin was perfect...loved it! I did not attend the solo meet-ups; i now wish I had done so. I flirted with the idea of attending them but never did. If I cruise Norwegian again, I'll do so. This was my 20th cruise, and the Norwegian Breakaway did not disappointment...at all! The only downer was learning a few days after returning home that I had COVID. Fortunately, however, that ordeal did not last very long. Have you cruised solo on any other Norwegian ships that you would recommend? Thanks again for your great content.
Yay! I'm so glad to hear that you had a great time! And like I said, everyone's perspectives are different so you have to see for yourself. Yes, definitely try to the solo meetups at least once or at least one the first day! You don't have to attend them all. Hate that you got sick afterwards but glad that you recovered quickly. No, I haven't sailed other NCL ships but I do plan to try one of their larger ships. I just don't have one booked yet. But please feel free to come back and share your experience if you do first. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Hey fam!!!! Yes, I 100% agree! I absolutely loved the size of the cabin with it being categorized as a solo cabin. Definitely a winner! Thank to so much for watching and commenting! I appreciate it! ❤️❤️❤️
Wow, this is great information. Even when you're not solo, what a smart purchase those is. Thank you, always bringing the best!!!!! Have a wonderful weekend 🥰
Feel free to watch each shorter vlog that has been previously published weekly on my channel. These are those same shorter vlogs put all together for a full series for those who prefer longer versions. You can choose your preference. 😊
@SIGCruiser I'm going to always go to the beach❤️ and I'm going to always get in the water but I think....I just want to know that someone is on watch for me😁 That way, I feel more free in the water and I'm always chasing that feeling.
Aaaaahhhh!!! Yes, definitely go by and try it on your next cruise. It was so much better than the coffee in the buffet. I was so mad at myself!!! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
love you guys i am a 69 year old and finds so many older than me an me, and cant believe they are 80 Plus and are soo cognisant and are way more than i thought 80 yr olds would be ,,,love cruise ships ..cause the age is not a number, but these guys are sooo happy and with it, I felt old at 69... to see the wonderful 80's and 90's be cogisant and ALIVE
Yes! On my cruises I always see older people enjoying themselves on the ship and that's so great to see! Definitely a blessing! I pray I will be the same way!
For me? I would say yes. Celebrity has a hosted solo program as well, just not as extensive. They don't meet everyday, or at least when I experienced it. But I'm not looking to meet up with a group or others everyday. They have great solo cabins. They are pricier but unlike NCL, I felt it was more worth it. This was before they started charging solos more than double though. Yes, I would prefer Celebrity over NCL as a solo cruiser.
Saw your video release and hopped on it! I'm not gluten free, but prefer corn torts over flour so I would probably pass, too. You're an introvert, but you do waayyyy more with others than I would. I think I will, at least I plan to, utilize the solo lounge on my upcoming cruise. Thanks for the content!
Yes! I'm an introvert! LOL I will say that vlogging for 5 years does take you out of it just a tad. I more focused on providing everyone with insight rather than my own insecurities. I don't thinking anyone would watch an introvert just sit in a corner the entire cruise...lol. You all are helping me to do more things! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
That was an amazing view of the island with beautiful weather. And to top it off, no crowds and not a whole lot of people. I would like to see more of the food served but overall, wonderful video.
Thank you. Yes it was tough trying to get detailed shots of the food with people there. I didn’t want to hold up lines or get in the way. I’ll see what I can do in the future. Thank you for the feedback!
I assume that the solo cruiser prices did not include the taxes and required fees you have to pay. Now, the taxes and required fees are included in the booking, so the overall charge now is higher. I am looking at a cruise date of Jan 18-24, 2026 onboard the Carnival Sunshine for a 6-day cruise to the Bahamas from Norfolk, VA. A Deck 1 solo interior upper/lower cabin costs $1,289 with all taxes and fees included but no gratuities, travel insurance, or drinks package added. This information is directly from the Carnival cruise site and is non-refundable. I am not sure if the cost would be cheaper with a travel agent. As a frugal person, I think it is a little bit steep even if we are talking about the cruise being 18 months away. If it is discounted to $900 or less, I would probably take it.
Yes I made that video in 2020 and prices are way higher now. And these days, that does seem to be a pretty good price. You can try to watch for sales but generally speaking, prices set only going up the longer you wait. TAs have access to the same pricing, but time to time they may have agency promos or can book you into other group sailings at group rates with perks. They just have to do the research.
Oh, this was a lovely video. My first cruise will be on Princess, and I'm hoping they have something for solo cruisers. But I will defitry NCL if I find I like cruising. Just testing the waters right now.
And that's the right thing to do...test the waters and try different ships. Don't get stuck on one. They all offer similar things and have a few differences. To me, one is not better than the other. It's what experience you want to have. I'm doing my first Princess cruise later this year and I've heard they don't have a solo cruiser program but that they are good for solo cruisers. I will find out what that means and will definitely share what I find!
I can see that happening because even on our visit, it was really rocky. I do hate that you missed it and hope you get to visit soon in the future. It's a beautiful island and I wouldn't hesitate to go again!
This is great info, especially about the luggage tags. Never thought of putting them inside the luggage. And I appreciate you talking about buying onboard cash ahead of time. Can you talk about pre-sales of onboard sctivities? I think I saw one time on the Princess website where they were selling excursions at a discount. Does that happen with other items the cruise ship offers (like onboard credit, massages, etc.)? I missed the pre-sale because I hadn't read my email regularly, but I hope to catch the next one! Thx for sharing!
Yes! That's one of the benefits about booking ahead of time too. Pre-purchase discounts. I will put something together on that. Thanks so much for the input!
So, is the free at sea package a lot of money in comparison to paying for what you want a la carte? I'm not a drinker but I'm taking my first cruise trip on the Sun princess, and I purchased the Premium Plus package because after counting up what I would want to do on the ship, without buying the package, I would wind up paying more for things a la carte. Idk how much NCL's package costs, but I'm just wondering if their free at sea package would still be more economical. I would like to try them to do their solo program, but that's probably the only reason (as I haven't heard many great things about anything else they offer). However, like you, I'll reserve my opinion until after I try it for myself. I ABSOLUTELY want to try a Celebrity ship! Thx for sharing!😊
Actually, no. You pay the gratuities on the drinking and dining package. And you did the right thing...estimate your costs and determine what option is best for you. I didn't plan to drink much and I wanted premium wifi. The "free" wifi is only 150 minutes free and $99 to upgrade. Buying outright was $118. And you get $50 for excursions but I didn't plan to do excursions. So for the free package and what I wanted, it would have been at least $250. So, for me, it was cheaper to not get the "free" package, even with buying a few drinks here and there.
@SIGCruiser Ahhh, gotcha. Thx for the advice. As a person who has never cruised before, I appreciate learning CORRECT and HELPFUL info (unlike what I get from some other channels, who wind up wasting my time). Thanks Sig! You're always honest AND helpful, and you NEVER waste my time! Happy cruising!
