I was so hype when they dropped these new tensions arm can finally compete my whole suspension in aad! Glad to see someone else getting to it before I did & it’s on a build I’ve been loving since the beginning. Can’t wait to see this thing complete!
@_.kvng.ky_1081 For real, I ordered them the day they dropped, but just now got around to installing them. I hope they eventually make the rear lower spring perch arms, just so I can get rid of that stamped steel junk. Either way, AAD makes some great stuff with crazy quality, and I can't wait to install the rest of it, and finally get this back on the road!
@@HEMIGADE i believe they do already! They are expensive but look well worth it you can get it both in an option without the spring cup for a true coil over setup, for like $100 more you get it with the spring cup! If you’re running a divorced setup like we are with those BC’s… it’s something I eventually would like to purchase but I’m in no rush 😂 they got a pretty penny from me already I also recommend grabbing there lower knuckle bushing for the rear if you already have there trailing arms!………. Just checked the site again they actually removed them I assume they didn’t sell well but email them! I promise you they have them! They were $1100 I want to say for the setup with cups!
@@_.kvng.ky_1081 Yeah I thought I had seen them before, but couldn't find them when I looked, and figured I imagined it lol. Their stuff is pretty expensive, but you do get what you pay for. I bought some cheaper adjustable links (like $1000), and they weren't the answer. Thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely have to contact them and see if they can make some.
@yammymotoguy6534 I doubt this one will ever really be "finished" as I'll likely keep changing it up, but I do have a few project cars waiting in line to get worked on.
@@yammymotoguy6534 I've got an HHR SS Panel with a new drivetrain ready to drop in: new crate LDK engine with an F40 6 Speed, Borg Warner S257 big turbo, and enough supporting mods to handle about 600hp. I'll probably keep that a simple build, just air ride suspension, and the new engine.
The original drivetrain for the Renegade was Front Wheel Drive, and the Charger drivetrain I'm using is RWD. I'd love to have an AWD setup (trackhawk) but there's no way to make the engine fit with the front drive setup, without pushing the firewall into the cab another 4.5". The firewall is already pushed back to the door sill, so it won't work on this one. The next build though...
@@Bryaniskey considering all the stuff I've added to it, it's gonna be pretty heavy. I'll definitely have to take it to the scales when it's done, just to see.
@johngrindstaff4475 Thanks, I really appreciate that. Having you guys watching really keeps me pushing to build things as properly as I can. Hopefully soon all the work will pay off, and I can fire this thing up!
@Omega_Alphatron hell yeah, they're almost too nice for this thing lol. I'm actually sitting here designing some titanium heat shields with ducting for them, just to push it over the top.
@Omega_Alphatron the new one should be here Friday, so we'll see. I already 3D scanned the Renegade's and started to reverse engineer it, but figured the Charger's would play nicer with the whole system. It's just one of the many loose ends that needs to be sorted first, but I'm slowly checking everything off the list!
Hopefully you have a good proportioning valve as those massive calipers will upset the Renegades weight biased....The Early model Renegades had a issue with severe nose dive and it would cause the rear of the Renegade to lift off the ground. I would run as much rear biased that you can get away with before locking up.
That is a major concern, especially with how nose heavy this thing is now. I've seen the videos of these things with the rear wheels up in the air, and it doesn't look too fun lol. I'm using the stock ABS unit with a Wilwood master cylinder, so we'll see what it does, then I'll have to go from there. The rear will be loaded down with some speaker boxes and what not, but we won't know what it'll do yet.
I have to ask. What kind of background do you have to be able to do all this custome stuff? Have you done this a lot before? The stuff you are doing to the renegade is NOT amature modding. This is pretty high end. If you do not mind me asking.
I've always been into working on cars, but never done any type of professional automotive work. The skills I've gathered along the way are mostly from messing up, or just trying something to see if it works. Even on this build, I can look at things I did at the beginning and see how much better I could do now. The next build is going to be top notch compared to this one, Plus the tools really help a lot, and I love tools!
I think you’re being too modest. “Ya I played with legos now I build what sema cars wish they were. lol what was it before this a hhr I think? Bagged with a big sound system?
@@HEMIGADE It's just impressive man. You're doing thing I couldn't even touch. It's a natural talent for sure. I'm jealous. Your builds will only get even more impressive and I'm already flabberghasted. I'm with ya all the way man.
@@escapee8041 It is a Jeep Renegade. And I agree, hes modest. He has skills that are superior to multi-million shops I have first hand experience with. I can't fathom what he could do with just a few good sponsors, ability to do this full time, and some funding. I have been telling everyone i know about this channel, praying for his success. I want to see his unlocked potential.
Thanks! I'm trying to be more consistent with the uploads and quality of the content. Seeing so much progress on this thing lately has really motivated me to keep pushing!
Hell yeah, that's amazing! I just checked it out, and it looks like you're well on your way to making it happen. The V12 is gonna be nuts! Can't wait to see it all come together
@@UKBUILT It looks like such a fun project, to just make whatever you want a reality. The body seems like a massive undertaking, how are you planning on doing that part? I've been wanting to 3D print body panels, but I'm not great with the design part lol. and editing is the WORST part of making videos, it takes so much time and effort.
@@HEMIGADE yeah, I designed the car when I was a kid. It's been a long time in the making. I love building from scratch 💪 For the carbon tub I am planning to use a thin ridgid carbon sheet, chop it to make a tub shape, then add multiple layers of carbon to keep it together. The chassis is a mix of carbon and roll cage steel. Kevlar will be used in the leg area and the doors for impact resistance. For the body I am using a moldless method (as I don't want to store molds, if it gets damaged I will just repair it). I'll make a full size foam buck from my full size drawings then cover it in realease film, and wet lay 3-5 layers. It's still lighter than fibreglass. I am mainly using carbon for stiffness as the pannels are big. Also because it's a dream build 😎 search for a video called 'mouldless carbon fibre' by easy composites to see my process 👍Yeah filming and editing takes a while. I am 99% petrol head, 1 % youtuber 😆 Thanks 🙂
@jordansolages8266 it did get a little warped from the plasma table, but the thickness of the sheet helped, and bending it really helped straighten it out. I was a little worried about that though.
@@HEMIGADE between that and the wheel tubs it all came out great, I’ve been commenting on all the car channels I watch to come check you out. This type of work deserves more light!
i've watched every episode and eagerly await the next ones. You make everything look so easy and I'm glad that you include the mistakes, thats the only way to learn . Keep on going with this amazing project. I can only imagine what the next project will be.
Oh man, I've learned so much on this build! I can't wait to finally be able to drive this one, but I'm also excited to start on the next one, knowing everything I know now.
Man, that 3d scanner and 3d printer are such a time saving tools. Did you find out what was the rattle in the back? Every buid episode gets nearer to this monster driving down the road, another great video Mike. J
@tommyis13 you're right about that! The scanner and printer combo are probably the single most beneficial tools I've gathered, and I wish I would have started off with them. Knowing what I know now, the planning for a project would be way more in depth, instead of just going for it lol. At least it's mostly worked out though.
Oh man I love the test you ran on the sound deadening. I actually ran into this issue not too long ago and didn't know which way to go. Invaulable information. Thanks for your effort into this.
You're welcome! I was really surprised by how little all the bedliner did. I thought it would be at least noticeable, but it really wasn't. This deadener is crazy, and they sell an even thicker one too (190 mil)! I actually started by placing just one piece on the under side of the rear sheet metal, and it was enough to almost eliminate all vibration, so the 100% coverage was overkill, but why not 😂
@leisonmaldonado9661 I stay around Laplace, so not that far away. I'll definitely be getting out to some local shows once this thing is running, so you'll be able to see it for sure.
