HEMI Swap Jeep Renegade pt. 20 UPDATE !!! 

Hell yeah man, Thanks! It really is coming together much better than I expected. I made some more progress on the brakes this weekend, so hopefully I'll have another update soon.

Man, you nailed it. I see the comments pop up about how it's a waste of money (and yeah hobbies do get expensive), but if you're investing into what makes you happy, then it isn't a waste at all. I've grown so much along the way with this build, plus it gives me purpose and something to strive to complete. This thing started out as just something i liked tinkering with, but the support and positivity from you guys keeps me going. I really do appreciate it!

I understand that making content while you're in the process of working can likely be annoying and disruptive to the actual process, because it breaks momentum, but I appreciate it, as your other followers do. I'm a solo musician attempting to share my stuff with the world as well. In the past, I build custom choppers and cars to, (my favorite being my 1971 Ford Maveric.) Keep it up and don't go broke doing it! lol!

@@webguitars Yeah man, it does slow thing down a little bit when you have to set up the camera, or completely mess up a take and have to restart, but I've found that it actually makes me get more work done. If there's nobody there watching me, I get pretty lazy. Having y'all along really keeps me motivated to continue making progress, and build this thing right without taking any shortcuts.

hell yeah, thanks! I did want to get a 4x4 6 speed turbo version when I got mine, but they hadn't made their way to the states yet. I think they'd make a pretty good rally build.

Lol yeah man, it gets tough sometimes when it just doesn't go your way, but eventually you either get motivated and start working or just start working and hope the motivation catches up. Either way, we just gotta keep pushing.

Yeah man, you're right about that. It does get a little overwhelming from time to time, just gotta keep pushing through knowing it'll be so worth it in the end. Hell yeah man, that's going to be insane! I really thought about the SRT before this setup. From what I've seen Honda stuff is pretty easy to make some decent power, so you can't go wrong with that. Since it's water damaged, it'll be all standalone wiring?

@@HEMIGADE Yeap I’m going with a Fuel Tech system. Their control options are insane. It’ll be a long build as I have to do it in stages. Planning to start in Oct when the temps come down in SoFlo. Will do all the fitment fab work first and then build the engine etc. I like the idea of 1000+who AWD fastest Renegade in the world is my plan. I’d love to build a 1.3 or 1.4 there just isn’t enough support to make real power. Most are tapped out around 300whp.

For real, the past couple days have been great to work in. I was down for a couple weeks feeling horrible, but I'm back to making progress on this thing.

For sure, I can't wait to have this thing laid out on the ground. The HHR SS Panel is next up on the chopping block. It has a build motor with big turbo, and 6 speed manual swap just sitting in the garage waiting to be installed. I'm shooting for some big hp numbers for that one, and maybe do some 1/2 mile pulls

Hell yeah man, I love me some Ecotec engines. I have 4 cars with them lol (a Pontiac Solstice, two HHR SS's, and one non-SS HHR that I supercharged). You might want to check Copart if you have some local, that's where I picked up the Solstice from. They have a couple locations near me (New Orleans and Baton Rouge). You can usually get some decent projects, just gotta be patient and keep an eye out for what you want.

Thanks for watching along with the build! The rear took like two weeks to get sorted out, spending about an hour each night after work on it. There ended up being quite a bit of unusable footage since I did most of it outside after dark.

That would definitely be the easiest route for more power, but I just really enjoy the sound and look of turbos. We'll see though

@@HEMIGADE I definitely love turbos but a fully ported supercharger just sounds so mean and in your case would look just so right plus something about a hellcat engine to me anyways just says fast af but you can daily it

@@Swoledadof3 yeah modern muscle xtreme makes a kit idd definitely do it if I had a 5.7 or even a 392 would be a nice setup that uses mostly all stock parts

@@SlowC10 yeah the stock parts availability really does make the supercharger setup appealing, and I'm not completely against it, I just think turbos for headlights is what this build is missing

Something about taking things apart and trying to put them back together really feels kinda like therapy for me. I'm pretty good with taking things apart, but putting things back together is a different story 🤣

@@nahimibrahim107 hell yeah, I watched their latest videos for a little inspiration. After talking to a few people I think I might try 3D rendering again, since it has been a while.

Thanks man, this project has taught me so much about planning out a job and the best way to go about working it. Definitely messed up along the way, but that's all part of the process. I've been watching tutorials the past couple days, trying to learn how to 3D model a set of flares so I can CNC machine them, so hopefully soon I'll be able to make some new flares.

Thanks! The HHR SS was originally a half panel (with rear window doors, but no rear quarter glass), converted to a full panel wagon (installed Panel doors). It's sitting on a modified rear axle that relocates the hubs higher and further back, to help center the wheel in the wheel well when it's lowered. It's on air ride suspension. I have a new 2.0l LDK engine and F40 6 speed trans in the garage waiting to be installed. The engine has just about everything aftermarket that's available for it, besides a ported head (cams, springs, high pressure fuel pump, opel injectors, Borg Warner S257 turbo, Weisco Pistons, ZZP rods, neutral balance delete, API damper, etc.). Once I'm done with the Jeep, the HHR SS is next.

I think the best bet will be to use as much of the Renegade dash as possible, since it'll match the contours of the windshield and fit the doors nicely. I'll probably have to cut the gauge and center area apart to make everything Charger fit in there, but we'll see. I'm pretty concerned with the AC system though, just looking at how much the firewall moved back, there isn't much room anymore.

I'm actually trying to learn how to design a new kit in Fusion 360 so I can CNC machine some plugs for fiberglass molds, then I'll be able to reproduce some.

I think the grill would take away from the immediately recognizable Jeep grille. I want people to know for sure what this thing started off as. They do look alright, just not for this build.

right now its just to get it running, but eventually it's getting a full custom exhaust setup. I'm also trying not to throw too many variables at it before I even get it running, but I've already changes quite a bit.

Thanks! I've been spending the last few days watching tutorials on Fusion 360 and I think I'm finally getting a grasp of everything. I made some huge steps forward with it last night, so hopefully if I keep at it I'll be able to make something. I'll keep you in mind if I can't get it figured out though.

I made these a few years ago, but I do plan on CNC machining molds for now flares, so I can reproduce some copies.
