Both are great, I am really curious to see that knight finished with transfers and perhaps a little bit of weathering? Kieran regarding your Keeper of Secret I love what you did with the skin and clothing, however there's an amazing opportunity to add a bit of color with all the gems you kept gold. Either a dark amethyst to complement the main color, or something different like jade or ruby.
Would you also consider dipping your toes into Old World? Or is there too little available yet to talk about it? I still got the Blood Island box at home with the sprues for High Elves and Skaven that they never rereleased afterwards. Am looking forward to work on it once I got more time on hand.

A Knight in a day is EASY to do. Did my first one in 9 hours, and it turned out fire. It just gets easier from there. edit: I'd love to see squad box challenges, like a box of Necron Immortals or SM Hellblasters, things like that. Something in between Hero's and Combat Patrols. A squad is big enough to showcase the skills, and yet not silly hard like a Combat Patrol.
@@the_kieran_show Admitedly, the primary paint color used was Turbo Dork Galaxia which makes getting the colors on super easy since it's just a couple layers of brushwork/airbrush. So the way I did it was prime black, drybrush Army Painter Gunmetal on the body. Hit the Stacks, cords, all mechanicus skulls with Valejo Model Air copper. Edge the armor panels with Valejo Gold. Apply the Turbo Dork first layer with Airbrush/paintbrush, then while that was drying go over the entire metalic parts with a black wash. Paint the second layer of Turbo Dork, and all that was left was touching up. Honestly Knights are the easiest points to paint imo. And yours turned out really good. The only advice I have (which sounds odd because I've used your videos for over a year to learn from) is that the metal might need griming up a bit, and the trim on the armor panels either need brightening or maybe just a different color then the body. Or maybe just a heavy black wash and edge highlighting them again. At least that's what I'd do.
When you had your moment of crisis with the knight, i think the problem was the white was too stark but with a few transfers on it would of fixed it and would look pretty great
I think the Knight is looking lush, really giving me "Green Knight" from Arthurian Legend. I would lean into that more and incorporate illuminated manuscript designs from things like the book of Kells. Would look really good with nature designs incorporated like climbing ivy and give it a "green man" vibe. Congrats to Big K as well for a lovely Keeper 🔥
@@the_kieran_show You could have a Knight which stood for each of those in the round table, Lancelot, Galahad etc The one with the best movement could be brave Sir Robin, bravely running away.
Looks great, I would be interested in seeing something like painting a single chaff model or minor foot hero to the best of your abilities over 24-48 hrs as a change of pace.
I like the idea of smaller-scale challenges, but with more limitations or uh...challenges. So instead of a big hero, or a whole combi box, you get a unit or vehicle and have to paint that, but you assign limitations or requirements to eachother- "you MUST use green and orange" "No grime etc washes" "must drybrush metals" or stuff like that. Alternatively, you coud start something for eachother, then swap to finish- such as "Painting each others kitbashes" (obvious), or "rescuing a crazy paint scheme" (where you each pick 1 main colour and base/prime the mini(s) in that, then swap and go "go on, make this look good!"). I love the challenges, it's something that you two do better than almost anyone else (in my opinion, anyway!) Keep it up my dudes.

The limitations is something we’ve had a look at before, it just depends on the mini/project because if it’s a mini for one our armies (like the knight was) it’s hard to limit it. However would love to do a challenge where big Kieran can’t use the same 3 paints he always uses 😂
I think the knight is okay, I do feel that switching the trim from the skeleton color to a gold would bring it all together. As a salamander player, gold and green go well together.
I think the issue with the knight is that the trim colour is to close to the metallic skeleton, so it all merges together a bit, if it was darker there would be a bit more separation between elements. Looks absolutely fantastic for being done in 12 hours!
Demon Kieran did well. Sir Kieran is probably unhappy with his knight because the coulours are too clean and bright. Decals and a bit of grunging it up should do the trick.
I love all of the challenges...I also struggle with painting things I care about (so all of my armies lol). Sometimes we need to learn to let go of perfectionism, or so much will remain grey. Both models look awesome guys, well done!
They're both awesome, knight in 12hrs is ludicrous, so kudos for it! If it was me, the knight would have gold trim, and the canopy would have a white stripe to break up the profile, balance the green whit mix. But thats just me 😅. Keep up the good work!
He would have saved a couple of hours if he hadn't put silver on silver 🤡 that sounds awesome! If you end up doing it make sure you post it in the Discord 👀
Base coats in silver... Complains about needing to do more details on the skeleton... Decides to do more silver but doesn't do any of the details :D Kierans are the best! Knight in a day is possible! Trim is a nightmare though.
love all the work you guys are doing and putting into your videos, and honestly, getting that far on a knight in 12hrs is genuinely so impressive man, as the owner of over 10 knights in various stages of completion you did more than I ever have in that time. Keep up the amazing work guys!
Honestly, I have so many models and Bladeguard Vets are easily one of my favourite models period. My top 5 would probably be like.. 1. Belakor 2. Mortarion 3. Farsight 4. Void Dragon 5. Norn Emissary I'd pass on any of the sister models, they're ok.

Horrible, nonsensical list. All I can offer is the comment making video activity. By your specifications being book action and model range, Space Wolves, Ultramarines and Salamanders should be WAY HIGHER. Especially the Spacw Wolves, their miniature range and lore is ridiculously good!
Username checks out 😂 Curious to see why you say Salamanders? Beyond Istvaan they don’t see a great deal of action compared to others (their solo HH books are good though, really enjoyed Deathfire). Also their miniature range is none existent 😂
Depends on the colour to be honest. Have found that if it’s on top of contrast paint then it’s more prone to rubbing off when you use the mineral spirits. But most normal colours shouldn’t need it, you can always do a test on a random sprue to make sure!

I think if Kieran is going to do a knight then Kieran should give him a list of tasks to give him a chance to catch up on a couple points. Maybe if he does a base and freehands some shoulders or something in that timeframe perhaps toss him a point or two?
