If you're going to heat cycle the tires initially they do need to sit for awhile to actually get the longevity benefit. An hour for them just too cool back to ambient isn't nearly enough. I know Hoosier states that on their A7/R7 "After completing the initial run phase, the length of time the tire is allowed to set is possibly more important. The barest minimum for this process to be beneficial is 24 hours. (Not “the next day”). Any less than this is a waste of time. The best situation would allow a week before using the tire again." You may be able to get a good bit more life out of the tires by letting the sit for awhile after the initial heat cycle.
This typically isn’t realistic or necessary for drift tires. Hoosiers are a very different compound then street based performance tires. If you had any real world experience, you would know there can be a big difference in tire life with a one hour heat cycle. Perhaps there would be more from a 24 hour heat cycle, but this isn’t very realistic for grassroots drivers.
are the knuckles only "steering" mod? how do i make it self steer and have this angle in gt86? im currently in e46 chassis and im scared of all the electric racks etc but i want a newer chassis
Running Heat Maker knuckles with the 2017+ steering computer and Wisteria steering controller. The 2017+ computers are much better in drift and the Wisteria controller makes a small difference in self steer and overall steering feel in drift.
@@terboboost Nice I'll look out for that. I'm trying to get a nice balance with tyre tune atm. Searching for more grip but not got much power so have to make sure I can still spin the wheels.
@@terboboost Had been 195/50/15 part worns but wanted to find some consistency. Tried a few $40 tyres from new and like the black arrow super dart p03. States it's a 200tw and for the price offers some grip. Can blister when over heated. If I can dial out the rest of my camber with adjustable arms that might help. Most other tyres in that price range offer less grip but hold up to heat better. The ebay $40 part worn can offer better tyre life due to the heat cycles from the previous road going owner. Still no firm choice for the rear every time, yet.
Also would u recommend just sticking with the stock handbrake or do u think replacing it with a dual caliper hydro would be more efficient, I personally want to keep my regular hand brake but I’m just worried of the longevity of it after multiple events
@@coleallan185 they last me about 1-2 seasons (20-30+ drift days). I highly prefer OEM handbrake. Better feel, lower cost, easier maintenance, and better look.
this is cool. this really shows the speed you carry with your car and how on the edge you really have to be if you don't have the power to just spin the wheels whenever you want and in whatever circumstances.
great pod, always a pleasure to listen to Josh. While listening to it I found out Im a preeetty good spectator lol. I agree with his view towards style also. Overall golden podcast. Make it 3 hours next time 😅 💛 Edit: Josh has a crazy history from listening to this one and the Faction pod.
Any problems with axles? Did you rise your subframe or diff? Turbo vs na? Dont you miss just swinging the weight/just throwing the car into corner becouse no power?
No problems with axles after raising the diff (oem subframe bushings still). I do miss NA sometimes! In a perfect world I'd have an NA chassis and a turbo chassis, but my name isn't terboboost for no reason 🙂
