Our second Track Day Direct Tire Test brings the Ironman imove gen2 380tw to the track. Running a 235/45/17 tire at 35 psi for a 10 minute torture test, so that I can get a good reading on the tires grip and response characteristics including tire life under drifting conditions.

Ironman tires are a very popular tire at your typical open drift day. I did find that the tire life wasn't as great as I had expected, with only 3/32 left of tread remaining after the 10 minutes. Lateral traction is definently not a strong point of this tire. I didn't find any hint of greasing, and was able to drive around the lower grip levels, albeit with a lower level of confidence. For the cost, these tires are still a fine tire for open track days and beginners, while I would recommend other options for seasoned drivers.
