The sounds you were hearing in the morning came from 2 different tools that I'm well acquainted with. You can hear a needle gun and chipping hammer. These are used for paint removal and depending on what they are working on can be heard for several decks. 7AM is unacceptable unless this was emergency work.

This was a very good walk around. What I found strange was the lack of people out and about at 11AM. It looked like you had the ship all to yourselves. We were booked for an and of April 2021 crossing in Queens Grill but it got canceled. It was to cost $12,000 including return air. for 2. My rational was that it was the cost of 2 RT business class tickets to London but we got 7 nights on a very nice ship. If you every get out to LA you should spend a few nights on the original Queen Mary in Long Beach.

This made me think about the time we were last there. I can't believe it has been 13 years. We were heading over the mountain for a motoring club rally at the Tail of the Dragon and spent a few days here. I think because they are in a valley Gatlinburg has not expanded as much at PF. Cheers

That route 81 is one of the most boring drives in the east. Many of folks have fallen asleep on that drive. I'm happy to see people visiting and really getting to know the country by road. Most Brits just fly into Orlando and then go home. We have taken a self drive in England and really got a feel for the country and the people. Pigeon Forge has really exploded since I was last there.

My first two cruises were in an Inside Stateroom, every other one has been in a Balcony Stateroom. Not what they are cracked up to be, one in Summer across the Great Australian Bight, and one in Summer in the South Atlantic, even with a Sheltered Balcony, really to cold to sit comfortably on the Balcony. Did you get your Pol Aker and conditioner? The sparkling wine should have been there. My wife takes her own conditioner, but I'm told you can ask your cabin steward for it. Always best to seek out your room steward as soon after boarding as possible in case there's anything they need to tell you about the cabin or turn down service, laundry/pressing service etc. Of course you probably did that. I take it you have more QM2 videos to post? And cases go in much easier from side of beds, admittedly there's much more space for that in balcony cabins.

Hmmm, It's not a cruise ship. It's a Liner. And since it's the only one, I'm not sure how it's "quite old". It's due to get it's mid-life overhaul in June 2026. The carpets in the corridors were replaced in November 2023 so they look quite new to me. If someone wants to sail on an ultra modern cruise ship, I think they have quite a few to choose from. 😀

@@TheTravelMunchers Queen Anne is different, but the other three Cunard ships were designed to look dated (on the inside). QM2's exterior looks are so you don't feel Atlantic storms. Actually there are great excursions to take from Norfolk....Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, etc...when I am not sure what to do in any partical port, I always find an excursion to go somewhere.....make the best of it.....gotta do your research....on even the type of cruise ship you would go on. Princess is an older crowd...and when you tend to go on a cruise that is longer than a week....you do get the older crowds because they are the ones that can take the time off...because they are retired....
