We are Tom and Dom and we love to travel. We have done many land-based holidays and city breaks but experienced our first cruise on MSC Virtuosa during her UK staycation cruises in 2021. Many cruises later, with a variety of lines, we can now say we are officially hooked. When not cruising we can be found in South West Wales where Tom works for a charity founded by His Majesty The King and Dom is a Teacher and Head of Year in a Secondary school.
Our mission is to provide a fair and balanced review of our travels. We have focus on showcasing a modern way of cruising.
Whilst travelling we review all elements that make up a great trip including food, entertainment, service and accommodation
Doing this cruise next week and have found your videos really useful and fun! Was just wondering what the asterisk next to some dishes on the menu for the MDR means? Is that an extra charge for that dish? First timer for msc so sorry if it seems like a silly question. Thank you!
I have visited your channel and saw many videos. Your video quality is good except the thumbnail. People only click and watch the video if the thumbnail is pretty. I am here to make eye-catching thumbnail for you. If you want, you can anytime reply to me. I'll work for you.
i don't think i would want to travel to such an expensive cold bleak place, but cruise ship is the way to avoid their inflated prices. and you two are so beautiful.
Enjoyed your Vlog. I love Studley Castle & have stayed a few times including Christmas which was fantastic. We always have a signature room with patio.
Hi guys, thank you for a very informative and detailed VLOG on the MSC Preziosa, Northern Europe cruise. We are shortly taking this cruise and there are still two things that are not fully clear to me. The first thing is with the Cruise Card. We have put a credit card on the system beforehand but do we still have to activate? And what is this PIN? We don’t have one as yet. And do they make a charge for using your credit card, associated with your Cruise Card onboard? The second thing is about the restaurants. What is the name of the complementary restaurant? Thanks for a super VLOG.
Thank you for the question. The main restaurant is the Golden Lobster. Although there is complimentary food available in the sports and the Venetian Plaza. The credit card info will be linked to your cruise card. There is no pin. Just make sure you check your bill is correct before disembarkation
It’s a beautiful place. Thank you for sharing. Respectfully I feel you gave maybe more depth of detail than was needed at parts. I look forward to your future videos. All the best.
Hi both! I’m due to go on Iona in a weeks time, just a question are taking travel cups permitted for teas/coffees around the ship? And if so is there a way to wash them on board, thank you in advance!
Thanks for the question. Yes you can take a travel mug onto the ship however the only facilities to wash them would be by using your cabin sink. Hope you have a great cruise.
Hi Tom and Dom. A quick question if that is ok. I am sailing on the Ambassador Ambience next October. I was wondering if you know how many plug sockets there are in an outside cabin? Thank you so much. Also loved your video xx
Thank you for watching and for the question. Plug sockets are very limited. From memory there is only one UK socket on the desk and one US. We took an extension lead and used that.
Guess what, Tom and Dom, you’re the 1st to know not only have I started filing Iona vids on my channel but booked her 2-night scenic (Cornish coast again?) for Oct next year. Who’d thought I’ll be on Iona? Will compare the mini-cruises with my QM2 in Jun ‘26. Iona has some cozy inside single cabins but her website said sold out. It must be a gimmick to make me pay a double like a standard inside twin like yours. So I had to pay for my Lucy for the 1st time. June
Great video, we love Bruge. Would you say that Princess offers better value that P&O, packages wise? We're looking to book a 7 day fjords for next year but P&O is coming in a lot dearer like for like than Princess. Thanks.
I’m going solo on my first cruise.. I’m staying on deck 6 .. sea view cabin .. obviously I’m abit apprehensive.. but really looking forward to it.. I’m doing the Norwegian Fjords in March for 12 nights.. it’s a bucket list ❤ any advice would be appreciated xx thank you for this amazing video..
Have the best time! Make the most of the solo events especially on the first day of the cruise. There is often a meet up pre dinner and lots then will share tables during the meal.
Had an opposite experience than you guys when sailing on Costa Smeralda a couple of years ago. Known affectionately in our house as Costa Covid! No need for an explanation there... We thought the ship was kept in very good condition and while the entertainment staff worked hard. The entertainment was very poor and not varied. Food was awful in the Dining Rooms and the buffet. Glad you had a nice time and maybe we just picked the wrong ship
Thanks for watching. It’s disappointing to hear of your experience when ours was so positive. We loved this class of ship. Maybe the excel class is too big
The zoo looked a bit sad to us 😔 esp seeing polar bears. zoos are a personal thing with split opinions I know. The rest of your day looked fab inc woolworths happy memories of their pick n mix when we were children
That i sstrange Dom & Tom, I have booked twice on board through the future Cruises and on both occasions have received a good 'discount' on each cruise and getting the special deals on extra on-board credit, and far cheaper than on-line
Your tour has been great. I attended my wife's sister's wedding in Rotterdam a few years ago. Rich variety of Canals and Wind Mills. Apparently Gin was main produce.
P and O do state in their brochure that the cabin overlooks the deck. It's a good idea to book select price if you want a particular cabin. If you book early saver, you will save money but have the cabin your given.
Thanks for watching. We are glad that it states this in the brochure. Unfortunately we don’t think we have ever used a brochure to book anything. It didn’t state it on the website and P&O have since agreed that those cabins were not stated as obstructed or have deck views.
Hi, enjoyed your vlog. As I am sure you have already found out, Bruges is the French version and it is actually Brugge in Flemish. Confusingly Zeebrugge is the same word in both languages but pronounced differently!
Thank you for watching. If there’s anything you would like to know then please add a comment and we will get back to you as soon as possible. if you are going to be spokesmen for princess, which you seem to be hinting at, all you have to do is show one of these p&o vlogs. what a hot mess p&o is! table scraps at a midnight buffet, making people wait in long lines for absolutely everything, tacky lounge singers, fake shows, treating you like swine at every turn, it's positively unfathomable! you really must go transatlantic back to back on QM2 and take the dog!
