That is why you look at the deck plans, i have no idea how much it was? We always choose a balcony cabin, our next cruise on Aurora is in 3 days, so looking forward to it. The next time do your research for your cabin, it might cost a bit more for a balcony cabin, it is worth it in the long run. Happy cruising guys.
Thanks for watching. We had booked a saver fare so couldn’t see exactly which cabin we were going to be allocated on booking. By not booking a balcony on Aurora at New Year it meant we could do a whole other cruise. Have a great cruise. Aurora is a lovely ship

Something P&O seem to do better than others is respond to feedback. I write after cruises about both good and bad aspects. I love sending compliments so they know what's working and individuals get recognition. It's also an opportunity to voice any concerns. P&O have always got back with genuine replies. Princess (in reply to my complaint that they removed a host of inclusive features a week before embarkation) said they can do what they want as it's in the small print. Royal Caribbean just has a generic copy and paste reply. Fred Olsen actually phoned, but with an oral copy version of copy and paste.
Great review thanks ! Personally I think the p&o offer was not generous and they should have refunded you in cash rather than cruise credit (where the only way you benefit is to have to hand over money for another cruise).
Interesting series as we are off to Hamburg in October on QM2 so will watch again nearer the time. Giving you cruise credit for a future cruise is not good enough they should have given you the credit whilst on board so you could have spent it once disembarked it should be cash. I had a complaint on Princess very minor and they credited me a $100 to spend on board straightaway
Watched your review with interest. It certainly highlights the risk of booking a guaranteed cabin rather than paying a bit more to choose one. As the saying goes you pay your money and gamble, hopefully most times you win! Sorry you lost particularly badly this time, glad you got some compensation.
I be very surprised if they can sort the noise issues out with them cabins. And shocked they have given you anything. That area when Aurora was built was the children's facilities when she accepted family's. Never designed for cabins. When she got turned to adult only they got greedy and installed more cabins instead of another bar or public space. This was done back in 2019. Ventura was also affected by the P&O money grab when they took a massive chunk of the exchange bar away and turned that to cabins they will have the same issue with noise not just from exchange bar but Ventura has very noisy stabalizers and in that area in rough seas it's so noisy. Also they are expensive single occupancy cabins. People on saver fares on Aurora should expect to be allocated them cabins as they will always be the ones left but it's not acceptable to hear noise from Carmen's it does not warn you when booking that venue noise might be heared in them cabins or any cabin in fact.
