I find it interesting that the only measure being noted is "self defense". What about tyranny? Tyranny enacted, whether from a state or from the federal side. Furthermore, "military style rifles", "useful in military service", were the same styles used back in the 1700's and used both by the military and the general population. The same applies today with modern rifles.

How do they justify banning a weapon because "its only necessary for military service" when its protected by an amendment that is specifically intended to arm us in case an emergency need for military service arises? You don't fight tyranny with your fists. It would make more sense to me if they said "we're banning shotguns because they're not necessary for military service" but obviously going that route would force them into accepting far more powerful firearms.
Why would your government want to disarm Law biding American citizens when they know full well that there are cartel cells with thousands of members here ? Why disarm us when there are Venezuela gangs, Russian cell spies, Chinese cells that are all being ignored by our justice department, while they full well know they are all here operating? Instead, they are focused on school-board attending mom’s, Catholic churches being under surveillance with terrorist designation. and many many other perfectly law biding Americans. The only other times I know of where this type of government behavior and over reach was going on was when Hitler did it in Nazi Germany and other comunust contries all disarmed their citizens to control them. They destroyed the middle class and created an elite run government police state.
Our goVt. is totally out of control.. They should be required to state where in the constitution any of their proposals are listed before they can go forward with any Bill.. period.!
