Clancy is amazing. The call backs to every album is freaking genius. I completely agree with you saying that it's a new sound but it sounds exactly like them at the same time. I love this band so much its disgusting

"gentrified reggae" - this guy's opinions are a curse upon humanity. Not only is he an intolerably stuck-up, pretentious schmuck, he's also a fucking virtue signaler. How dare two white guys experiment with the sounds they like? Must be a watering-down, racist attempt at mimicking Jamaican culture. I swear, his affection for "black" music (I put "black" in quotations marks because ultimately rock is "black" music too. Artistic or entertaining sound doesn't care for race. There are OBVIOUSLY black people who are due credit for the creating and inspiring of such diverse, innovative music, but it's pointless to tag it as one race or another, because music has none) must be compensating for something.

The problem is, he put his spiritual journey on display for the world to see and the world has no idea what that is. The world is attracted, but doesn't understand so his message gets filtered through the world's godless lenses. I went through a period of life where I was so afraid of going to hell that I wanted to die. The anxiety can't really be described. Then you realize that you can't even die because you will go to hell. I too was filed as a suicidal head case. Growing up in church gives many young people a false sense of security. When the scales fall off of your eyes and you realize that you are utterly lost, it truly feels like a living death. I really identify with "the few, the proud, the emotional" tagline. I'm a proud member of that group. TOP is still growing up. I'm 59 and even I'm still growing up. Are any of us ever finished growing? I sure hope not.

You have to remember, they may still be throttled by a record label. I think they're going to cash in their chips and go solo so they can say what they mean. See Paladin Strait for details. Lavish and Navigating give hints. Personally, I believe they will destroy the lore. What we have here is two church kids who accidentally started a cult/false religion in their quest for success. God is heaping on the conviction. He only let's His kids run lose for so long before He gives them the hard smack down. Been there...done that myself so I see what's going on here. The ending of this album is perfect. Nico is God. ✝

I’m a subscriber and I’m so sorry I’m only finding this 3 months late! I love your thoughts but can I ask if you could possibly react to the album a bit down the line? As a huge Clickies myself, I continue to go through phases of my favorite album. I of course had a Trench season, but for the entirety of this year I’ve been in a self titled season (one Inalways seem to revert to) but I love hearing the opinions of TOP fans take after living with an album for awhile, not just a first take. So if you ever think maybe in 2025 to revisit with some time with the album, I would be super interested in your take, I know my own personal opinion has evolved. ✌🏻

It's crazy that people criticize them by saying that they. Making cringe music pandering to depressed teens. And then in the same breath say they make safe pop mainstream music. Which one is it? People just love to hate. I know some of the fan base is a little obsessed, I mean come on camping out 10 days in a random park with a secret society of line holders just to be front row in the pit is kind of crazy. But they genuinely make great music with a true message and an underlying story that has its own message. Dismissing them as "depressing" or "mainstream sell outs" is crazier than the person camping out for 10 days.

You're a fan? I saw them live with Kutless, and...... I'm blanking. Probablyyyyyy 12 years ago? Local bands and stuff. In Republic Missouri at this church. Maybe 200 people. I don't think anything could ever top Horshoes and Hand Grenades/and Scars Remain for me tbh I remember reading the CD pamphlet and learning about how every lyric they wrote is almost a direct Bible verse quote. And they included the quotes in their albums. I haven't checked in forever. But they'll always have my respect and love

you guys make the best reactions on RU-vid. what i want if i click to a reaction from a song is to hear a song that i love and see how others enjoy it as much as me. no or not many stops, explanation at the end and the most important you give 21Pilots the point that they deserve as the best band on the planet^^ and on top of them all you can give really interesting facts about the band. That means when you talking i also wanna hear what you say and thats something no reaction tuber can do. For real its like you dudes are the first who get why someone click on a reaction video, its crazy. Please make the whole ToP songs i really wanna see it

This is the third Chirstian review of this song I am posting this on. I am disappointed in part of your reaction. Not sure you will ever read this as the video is so old, but here I go. Basically, the second verse is him sitting on the couch talking to his therapist and saying he needs help and no one will give it to him or listen to him and the rage and depression is getting worse and worse. They all say it is a phase of life. His doctor won't help and his therapist will not help. No one is helping. "Motherfucker, now you got my attention. I need to change a couple things 'cause something is missing. And what if I were to lie? Tell you everything is fine. " His therapist, who he trusts is calling for someone to help take him and he is yelling that he understands something is missing and all he wants help and no one will help or listen. "Every single fucking day I get closer to the grave, I am terrified." "We're sick and tired of wondering. Praying to a god that you don't believe. We're searching for the truth in the lost and found. So the question I ask is Oh, where the fuck is your god now?" What this means is, His rage is building so fast and so much and he has been praying to a god (that everyone told him to pray to) that the people who told him do not even believe in. He is looking everywhere and now that his rage has overtaken him he wants to know "where the fuck is your god now?" because even your god did not help him even though he tried. When YOU said "when that happens you are stuck with yourself" that is the advice we get when asking for help a lot of the time. Not hearing for what they are saying and trying to find an easy reaction is why depression lingers around .. and sometimes, when people (society, religion, therapists) put you in a corner, the rage takes over. If people only give advice like "you need to pray" or "I went through that and am ok now," etc. and realize that will not fix some people then maybe another approach should be taken before the advice is just to pray or be alone! Maybe everyone should try and listen with an open mind rather than trying to relate everything to their beliefs immediately and immediately judge "well, that's not me." WE KNOW, everyone says that rather than really listen. Thank you for your time.

I love this song and just about everything Ronnie puts out. However, he has denounced Christianity and his reasoning is not “bad.” However - what he hates about it are portions of “religion” that are of MAN, not God. (Monetary) Tithing - MAN. Criticism/hatred of those who sin(differently than you) - MAN. When I hear these lyrics my heart hurts for Ronnie, he is so talented and so genuine. I pray that some day, some how, he can experience that overwhelming presence of God and develop a relationship with God. Not bound by what society says religion is. If there are bad apples in Christianity, it’s up to us to make the difference and love one another truely as brothers and sisters in Christ. I’ve learned from people in many different bible believing religions. Take those denominations and put them on a back shelf. And take that hate and wash it away in holy water. 😂 PS Tithing is taking care of your neighbor/community.

One thing I've noticed, that is rarely mentioned, is that they must be the first band to really bridge a music listening gap between kids and their parents. Which is an incredibly important aspect of what they do. If my dad and I had a common love for a band when I was a teenager, it would have changed everything drastically. Needless to say, I listen to TOP all the time with my kids!

I always thinks that "Bandito" is the true message. It'is bandiTo (with T) et not bandiDo (with D), it means "little band". I could take the high road => Tyler could join the music industry and top charts But I know that I'm going low =>Tyler prefers going underground I'm a ban-I'm a bandito => We are a little band almost unknown (almost "ban" from radio) This is the sound we make => we create our music When inbetween two places Where we used to bleed => in the top charts And where our blood needs to be => live with our fans In city, I feel my spirit is contained => inside mainstream standard, i can express myself Like neon inside the glass, they form my brain => mainstream standard closes/limits your inspiration But I recently discovered It's a heatless fire => neon is heatless fire, success without inspiration Like nicknames they give themselves to uninspire => title decerned by the music industry, if it 's a song by the "king of the ..." then it's a hit Begin with bullet, now add fire to the proof => Tyler resists to critics and now to the fame also But I'm still not sure if fear's a rival or close relative to truth => Tyler hesitates if all this is only a justification Either way it helps to hear these words bounce off of you => sing with us at live show The softest echo could be enough for me to make it through => hear you can help me to continue I created this world => we create the lore To feel some control => in order to manage our career outside of the mainstream music industry Destroy it if I want I'm french so sorry if i'm not clear

its not like they are the first to be marginalized for their uniqueness. I think of Eminem, Nirvana, The Hip and Red Hot Chili Peppers. These bands also did their own thing and had success, even though they did not make it in the mainstream. Plus, the mainstream is now inundated with all of these bands.

I can understand people not getting into their music, it was a journey for me too since I usually don't like Rap, Reggae, Hip Hop and whatnot. So when you have a song like "Ode to Sleep", and you don't like the beginning, then a lot of people just skip. That's the thing with TOP, you have to be patient and really really listen. If I am honest, I very often do not like their songs on the very first listen, but then I get obsessed with the songs. I think most people are just not patient and mindful enough. And not everybody has to like their music of course. But nobody can say that what they are doing is not absolutely insane on all levels

TOP is not your typical band, that's why this 53 year old grandma who grew up with punk rock, hard rock, pop, grunge, and 80's & 90's alternative LOVES TOP. Tyler's lyrics and Josh's beats never fail to amaze me. The message they share is such an important one. glad to see you back reacting to these guys, enjoyed hearing your thoughts. i am loving this album and relating to the themes a lot. it feels very personal to tyler, even moreso than trench, i think there was a lot of metpahor and story explaining how tyler was feeling in trench whereas these songs feel a bit more direct about what he's addressing. i think I'll have to live with it longer and wait to see what happens in the paldin video and if there are any further releases to say how i rank it compared to other albums and how i feel about how the story ended.

I love Clancy so much! I thought Lavish was weird but now I love it, Snap Back still needs to grow on me and I’m sure it will. Routines and Navigating are also two of my favourite songs 😂 I’m always interested hearing why clique members love Trench so much, as I (quite controversially) would say it’s my least favourite. i do think there's more coming and we probably get the tease of it at the end of the Paladin Music video - it seems to all point to something happening June 25 I agree with pretty much everything you said - I thought Lavish was weird the first time I listened to it (some if it is actually shot right by my house) but it's grown on me and i understand it more than i did after the first listen I actually think this is my favorite album of theirs and I think there's more coming which will even boost that more - it would be really disappointing if the story just ends with Clancy meeting Nico and they come to some sort of truce and that's it - there's no way they do that though

I appreciate this video so much. Thank you for making this and sharing it. Thank you for appreciating these guys and pushing the recognition they do deserve. One of my favorite lines from Kitchen Sink and ever by them is “empathy might be on the brink of extinction” THATS why people think they’re “weird”. People are afraid to feel anymore.
