The entire Brooklyn Storyteller Session is amazing. It’s a great vibe to watch it all the way through. He does 5 songs Ride, Smithereens (just piano), Chlorine, My Blood (just piano), and Cut My Lip. I love when he reimagines his songs. He also speaks to the audience explaining a bit of his process. And YES to the TOPxMM Sessions!!! It’s fantastic.
They're starting to do more with this and it's so exciting!! I actually saw a reconstruct on their Takeover Tour, it's for the song Redecorate, which I highly highly recommend, it's my fave from the newest album. But Tyler reconstructed it with hitting pots and pans, playing bass, piano and tambourine as well as singing- it was epic! Also if you haven't checked out the MTV session yet- DO IT!!! The entire thing is like this, but with Josh who also sings for that one!!!
Yay! Yes, I love this one more than the original and I loooove the original. I get lost in listening to this one on repeat. And the lyrics... so very, very true. This is one that you can plug in many different meanings on many different days. I love the references to Chlorine and Migraine, and then there's the whole face of contusions aspect, fighting dema and all. Just a beautifully composed song and masterfully performed.
