I had the same problem with my CSL DD. I unplugged it, then I steered it from left to right and from right to left for about 3000 times every day without power and without playing for 6 months. The faster I turned, the better it retracted. After 6 months the noise was gone. The 6 month run-in phase was worth it. Unfortunately the steering wheel now seems to be completely broken, but the noise is gone. All that mattered to me was, to get the noise out.

there is such a thing as wear and tear, constantly turning and putting force on the wheel when turning will cause these noises to eventually happen as long as it works i don't see the issue. i would say this is a worn in effect would be as common as anything constantly turning over time.
Dang that sucks I got a Moza R5 bundle for sale with optional clutch pedal for $300 selling because I bought a R12 and CRP pedals and a CS wheel I wanted mo Poway also Moza products produce more holding torque than fanatec when Moza says 5nm or 9nm or 12nm that product produces the same amount of holding torque as it does peak torque a fanatec csl DD with boost pack only produces 6nm of holding torque and the QR they use sucks a great big bag of pee pee's
Your locking collar isn’t attached correctly. Takes 2 minutes to fix and is in the manual. I can see it in the video. You are damaging your wheel by simply not reading the manual.
The fact I had to turn up my volume on my phone in order to hear this noise… I REALLY need to upgrade to a DD wheel. As much as I adore fanatec, I hear amazing things about the new Logitech wheel and even the pedals… I think Logitech really did something right. Although fanatec is much more customizable🫠 UGH I HATE CHOICES. But I am a Logitech fanboy at heart… but fanatec was made by racers for virtual racers… GYAT THIS SHITE IS HARD
Logitech is literally the worst option on the market. doesn't have good settings the DD pedals are shit compared to moza or fanatec and it's priced as much as a 20nm wheel😭
I think the G29 is not as bad as people say it is (I HAVE ONE) and honestly idk why people hate it so much. Yeah the base is a bit louder but the entire setup costs less than a decent fanatec base so......
@@dabossman3924 the Logitech wheels god awful. there's a $250 cammus DD now, no reason for people to still buy a logi then complain they can't slide good with it
@interestingvideos4046 I'm not exactly sure about that price range but boosted media had many comparisons on these lower budget direct drive combos.. I currently only have the csl dd with the boost pack and it works not too bad but the base is prone to the shaft coming loose, slight wobble and clicking sound to it tho not really noticeable usually and the lack of being compatible with other brand wheels but i beleive there is a special adapter you can purchase. It just seems cheap overall but the price reflects that. Do some research is the best advice and things have come a long way since this base was first available. Good luck
