When you have multiple cams set to look at the same scene and only 1 or 2 work... dont blame the cams. Instead look at the dead time settings between pix and the camera syncs (are the time settings set to the exact same second on all?) Common problem. I usually set 2 or 3 to look at the same place from different angles. I usually only see one other fire at nite... You could set the dead time to say 5 seconds for 10 sec videos - then you will see all the cams trigger, but not at the same times. The cam the critter is closest to will trigger first. You will also kill the batteries much sooner. And, No! The cams do NOT emit IR to sense the critter, ONLY to take its pix at nite. They sense the critters BODY HEAT as it passes across the sensors field of view. Stationary heat in front will not trigger, so hot days dont trigger the cams. The critter must move across the field of view. So, facing the cam to catch critters coming straight on is iffy.
In Oregon the blacktail rifle hunt is in October, before the main rut starts. It's much different than other areas where the hunt starts in middle rut.
Just recently had 2, yes 2 rounds misfire (Winchester Power Point factory ammo) out of the same box! Luckily it was at the range and not hunting! I have shot hundreds of that same round through the same rifle (and hundereds of other brands also) and never had a misfire! I finished that box and resighted for Federal Power Shok and ran a box through with zero issues and that is the end of my shooting Winchester Power Points. I honestly think the primers were bad because it wasn't a light strike. Just that horrible 'click'!
What kind of Moron makes a video about a really good trail camera but doesn't know the name?? I am having the same issues with cameras, and this whole time was waiting for which one. And you go and make a video about the best one but no name?? I bet you voted for Trudeau!!
You cannot outrun a grizzly bear. You cannot outswim a grizzly bear. You cannot tree outclimb a grizzly bear. There's pretty much no escape if a grizzly bear coming for you. It's terrifying! 😬😬😬
In the summer months I finally put 2+2 together... when using the stealthcam ds4k on "video/photo combo", I noticed that on many of the 3 photo bursts there would be NO critter. However the video file that pairs with the photo burst would have a 3,4,5yr old buck cruising through in the first second or two!! I don't really think the combo mode changes/affects the photo trigger speed.. over many years I too can tell the difference of a "string of ghost triggers, etc." OR when there is just one single blank photo burst on a prime feeding evening that SHOULD"VE caught a buck! Now that I know its best to just use the video, I am back to absolutely loving the non-cellular ds4k! Very curious to try this new one you speak of!
Amazing shot. After 15 years i drew an Elk tag for north island, 45 minutes from my front door. Im an experience moose hunter but never hunted Elk. I heard my first bugel earlier September and it was basically life changing. I now have an absolute unit of an elk in my sights. I dont get to shoot until oct. 10. Ive found this weekends scput trip to be much more silent. Leas bugeling less cows calling, but the animals are still there. Whata your recommendation for calls during the early oct. Time frame. Im fearful of pushing them back with to much calling. Also seeing your footage gives me a new respect for this soet of thing. Im finding it very difficult to get skme decent photos and vids of the heard im watching. Fine line between wanting to get close and not wanting to spook em.
