Great review, thanks JayRock! I might be missing something, but I think the height adjustment is a bit simpler than explained. There are 7 slots from 20mm to 80mm, so each slot is +10mm. I.e. Slot 1 is 20, slot 2 is 30, then 40, 50, 60, 70, up to slot 7 is 80. Easy as!
I found that the idea of a cylinder mower was logical when I got one but in reality to get it serviced and the blade sharpened the cost involved was more yearly than what the mower was worth and just to get the cylinder blade sharpened professionally and have the blade balanced was hundreds of pounds that I wasn’t going to pay as I wasn’t cutting golf or bowling greens so it didn’t make sense. I tried this method and a few more to no success nothing really worked well enough so I ended up selling it and I went back to the old rotary petrol mower. So think twice before spending good money on buying a cylinder mower I had a qualcast classic it was over ten years old when I bought it was in good condition engine was Italian I payed 200 pounds for it and sold it after a year as it wasn’t affordable to maintain.
Could you show how to take the reel out of the Web push mower. I have one myself and wanting to replace the reel with one that has more than 5 blades so I can get the length on the grass down to 4mm. I have found a way to lower the height on it with some modifications but 5 blades is not enought for the height I want to cut at
Sound Sam, hope you are smashing it mate! I have listened to all your podcasts over the last 3 weeks! Learnt so much, mate. Hope to see you back on the podcasts 1 day! Quick question - I want to contact total lawn so I can discuss options with them but can’t find their website, do they only sell on Amazon now? I know you are busy but would really appreciate a quick reply, mate. 👍🏻
I must say I have 8-10 batteries and have had problems with at least 2 of them. Although they do have great warranties, I agree the batteries can be problematic
I bought one. It cuts and collects really well but you really feel the weight, especially if you are knocking on a bit like me! It's also got a very long wheelbase so scalps quickly if the lawn is not level. It's sweet spot is on larger flat lawns when you want a fairly short cut. You did well getting it round those tight spaces! Anyway I gave it to my son who soon managed to destroy the blade brake clutch! To save a very expensive replacement I bought a new friction plate off eBay and stuck it on with an epoxy glue - still going strong after three more seasons. He also uses normal fuel and leaves it in over winter so I have had to clean or replace the carb a couple of times. Easy enough. It still runs and cuts well but then it's only used once a week at most I replaced it with a Honda HRX476 which is much lighter but not as good
I’ve got two of the 56 roller Weibangs Best mowers I’ve used this weekend first service on the pair and still like new Would highly recommend them compared to crappy hayters or the kazz pro mowers. Worth the extra money all day long
Can I just check... my IS says 1 to 3 grams per litre per square meter of lawn. Therefore for every litre you need up to 3g. If you have a 10 litre bucket (or in my case a 10 litre watering can) then the maximum you need is 10 litres x 3g = 30 grammes. Where did you get 140g from?
It is 1 to 3g of IS per sq.m of lawn. 2g is normally enough for greening. Water is just a carrier so you need enough water to cover your entire area. Eg if you have a 100sq.m lawn and your watering can cover 10sq.m then put 20g of IS in the can and water. Then repeat. IS should stay on the leaf for a few hours ideally so check there is no rain due.
This Ego self-propelled battery powered lawnmower is fabulous & replaced my 17 year old petrol ‘faithful’ Honda. February in the UK is to early to cut the grass, but I couldn’t wait to try it out. It cut through 80x30 feet of tall damp Winter grass with ease with 20% left on the 5amp battery. It’s way lighter than my Honda & so much quieter. Hopefully it’ll last 17 years… 👍
Van looks great, I’ve just got a van, I’m just starting up, and looking into sign writing, hope u do some more vids soon as u explain what u do very well
Really nice set up Jay. I’ve been thinking about starting my own gardening business for a little while now, and I’ve just started getting all the bits together. I’ve tried to do as much research as I can, and unfortunately can’t buy brand-new, but you have given me some helpful tips, and also put the Husqvarna model in my mind. Have subscribed to your channel, and all the best for your business.
I Purchased this item January 2024 and it’s money well spent. I am a 66 year old female with a bad back. Works quickly and does not need a lot of effort to use.
Bro why not put the wheel where it can best roll, the concrete and thus performed use the concrete as a visual aid in maintaining equidistant dimensions?
