The eco gardener!!! It's great to see a pro use battery instead of petrol.....definitely the future of lawncare coming I think 🤔. Great job and what a big job !!

Thank you very much Richard ! That’s it ! It can definitely cope with more than what some may think. I will never go to fuel for this kind of equipment, i can’t imagine things like aerators and chippers changing anytime soon but the smaller things it’s a no brainer 💪🏽🌱🔋

Derek, yeah it was one I was determined to try and get done, probably at the limit of the height and waste that I can deal with currently ! A lot to the job including the traffic management (surprisingly busy road). But thank you very much really appreciate that comment 😄. I sharpened the blades up on the evening and when I went back the next day it was way better ! Done about 2 hours of chipping since the end of this video, probably another 2 till I’m done !😄

Jordan, I will do for sure. For its size, it’s brilliant ! I have managed to get just over half of this hedge through it so far. Things just take a bit longer as it’s so small, really for a job like this I could do with a 4” chipper but none the less it’s saving my skin for the waste removal 🌱

Great work but may I suggest buying a elite maestro chipper. Yes it's investment but mines is brilliant. Does massive branches but with that pile you got there would have it done in an hour. Plus unlike other chipper's it bags the chippings

Hi Robert ! I really would have loved to go for a bigger chipper, unfortunately I don’t currently have enough storage for a machine of its size but don’t have enough equipment to justify a rental storage unit - very much in the in between stage right now ! I’ll keep a note of the Elite though !😄💪🏽

Elliot maestro chipper are still small chippers with only 40mm max to go through it, yes it has a bag underneath but only a 5hp engine, this is a weaker engine than the one on this video. I would recommend the jansen 1500e or the cheaper crytec Road towable 15hp for larger 100mm branches.

I thought it was you that fell off the ladder that time the GoPro fell. I think it actually worked better after the fall! That was a tough hedge. The timber would be pretty hard too in winter. It’s going to look well when it grows out again. Hope you get repeat business to keep it tidy from now on after making such a great job of it. Just a question nothing to do with this video. Can you recommend light, waterproof, nettle proof, briar/thorn proof trousers for working in rough uncut areas.

Luckily it was just the go pro!😂. Yeah beech hedges have all came back through, I may actually take a drive past this one to see how well it has recovered. Unfortunately I can’t mate sorry, I just use my Revolution race trousers. If I think it’s going to be pretty bad I would maybe just stick on my Stihl Chainsaw trousers. Have to say you took a big job I there Jay but made it look nice and clean after. My only advice on a job like that and what I’m going to try and tell customers regarding work like this when I start is it may take a few visits depending on weather etc and hopin they are open to it not being done in one hit. How do you find the husqvarna equipment? I’ve gone for the batter stihl hedge trimmer HSA 94 which I really like.
@JayRockGroundsMaintenance
@JayRockGroundsMaintenance 2 года назад
Absolutely ! Totally agree there, it’s also what I did on this one, First visit was a trim inside and out of the whole hedge surrounding the property. Second visit - reduce the first hedge you seen me do Third visit is what you seen from about 4 minutes onwards. Definitely a key thing managing customers expectations. Luckily in this one true customer was fantastic and fully understood where I came from, and paid straight away 😄 The Husqvarna stuff really is brilliant, fantastically made tools, the Stihl I’m sure are much the same ! Just a slightly slower CPM speed I believe.

@JayRockGroundsMaintenance
@JayRockGroundsMaintenance 2 года назад
Thanks Paul! I knew it would be a big job but you forget how much these jobs take out of the body 😂. I must have only used around 2 full batteries during this whole job, the second day of the upper (left of the van) reduction only used 2 bars mate, about 1 bar right of the van, and maybe 2-3 bars doing the trimming (not filmed) so only about 2 full batteries. The buffer I added 10% to the price, I also priced in to have the labourer 1 full day but only brung him in for half in the end so that went to my favour. Full job was just under £600 Gross. Only expense so far has been the labourer £45, waste will be £43.50 inc VAT, fuel for the chipper around £10. And the travel to the property, 3 visits 15-20 minutes each way.
@paul9530
@paul9530 2 года назад
@@JayRockGroundsMaintenance wow that’s Great what size are the battery that amazing that you did the whole job with 2 batteries ya that hard going on the body topping a hedge that size of a ladder hard work so you had it all done in 2 days hard going looks great fabulous job and thanks for the info safe working Sam and thanks for the videos and the podcasts
