Jennie you're like my obi-wan when it comes to the keyboard. I'm no luke skywalker at playing it, but your teaching gets through to me somehow. So thank you very much. Please keep teaching about the psrsx900 and you'll always have me as your humble student.
Major Hassle! I have lots of registrations and except for overwriting an existing one you have to set the volume control pedal (FC7) to every button on the registration. I copied all my registrations from my Tyros4 but the volume control did not come with it. I have spent hours resetting the volume from articulation. Just wish you could assign that to a button (A,B,C,D,E). Any ideas? Regards, Dennis.
I assumed that this would have a 'layering' quality' to it & so when I was offered an option of Right 1, Right 2 etc, I kept on changing to a different one, thinking it was like the layering. Eventually, I tried leaving all the channels on Right 1, and, finally, it worked. Does this have any relation, to the layering of sounds at various positions on the keyboard? Could I, for instance, use my multi channel recording as 'Right one', whilst layering other areas as Left, Right 2 etc ?
Not sure if I understand your question correctly but if you wanted to simultaneously record Right 1 ,right 2 then you would select a channel for each. Eg select Track 1 and chooses Right 1 as the recording source, select track 2 and Left for the recording source etc. if I haven’t answered your question correctly let me know and we can start again.
Hi Jennie! Thanks for the tutorial! I made the setup the same way and I have an original Yamaha FC9 expression pedal in the Foot Pedal Slot Nr.2, but it works the opposite way😂 This means: in the front of the pedal is the "low down volume" and in the back is the "turn up the volume" function. Why is that??? Thank you in advance!!! Cheers!
Hmmm that is interesting. 2 things to try. Firstly plug the pedal in before turning on your instrument. Secondly slide the polarity switch to the opposite of what it is already showing which you will find on the screen where you assign the pedal.
@@jennieburton9794 Thank you for your fast response dear Jennie! The pedal is always plugged in. So I am looking for that "polarity switch"...but where is it? I am at the screen: Foot pedal2 - Category: Voice - Function: Volume. But I can't find any polarity switch function there. Tried to double-click...but nothing. I read on different sites about that switch but I can't find it. Probably it is that easy that I oversee it. I am not a beginner. Working over 10 years on Tyros 5. ...😥
@@arpadternei6991 unfortunately I don’t have this instrument in front of me to check. Can you download the reference manual and see if you can find it in there otherwise I can check tomorrow and let you know.
@@jennieburton9794 Thank You Jennie! In the reference manual is the same what you told me before....switch off and switch on again and don´t touch the volume pedal during this procedure. Well, this is not working. I couldn´t find anything else here. That´s ridiculous...both of these things are from Yamaha and it is not working properly. I had such problems as I connected a Korg pedal to Yamaha keyboard...but this? I am devastated😅🤔😂
@@jennieburton9794 Jennie!!! Thank you for your help!!! It is working now. There is a Menu Field in the right upper corner of the display. There it is. Wishing you a wonderful time with music and happiness!🥰🥂
I'm 81, dyslexic and have battled for 5 years as an owner of the CLAV 709 CVP trying to understand the manual on how to do this. Yamaha customer svc has been DREADFUL in helping. 4 different appts all broken over the course of 8 months. I finally gave up. And then finally, today, THIS WONDERFUL FREE DISCOVERY. You have no idea how happy you've made me. How might I contract you for further private, paid assistance? I have a couple of other quesitons, namely these: 1) Using the above video instruction, am I able to turn on the metronome and/or a preferred STYLE, thus adding a fuller, more complete recording of one or my compositions and 2) Need to know if the same procedure above is used to add still more tracks (3 ~ 16), and 3), finally, am I able to now do voice recordings over the totally finished recording? (I lived in London back in the 70's and was fortunate to have wonderful recordings of my tunes by Dusty Springfield, Dame Cleo Laine and others....but someone had to come into my publisher's office and write down the chords as I played them on the piano or guitar. =). Thanks so much again. tssent1 at gmail.
You are doing a fantastic job. You make it so simple. It may be a good idea for you to use a clear sounding Lavalier mic placed close to your mouth so your listeners do not miss what you are saying. Your explanation and demos are really so good and easy. It's the sound and clarity problem. Please speak slowly and loud so we get it all. Thanks you so much for the demos.
Thanks for the useful information, I also wanted to ask the name of the melody you played and where it comes from. Please write if you don't mind. Thanks in advance
???? Why would it change automatically? 3:14. There is so much here that is assumed that is understood and I am not following how to do many of these things. 🙃🤔
Thank you Tutor for a step by step tutorial guide on how to do a multi track recording. Now my challenge is that I have done a recording and put voices in 1234, but when l tried to add another voice into channels 5-8 it didn’t take in those voices. I had put a style without accompaniment in channel 9 How can l add other voices in to these channels. Hopefully l have explained myself well and l will get some assistance
Track 5 comes up with M.Pad 1 . Change that to Right 1 then you can continue recording. Repeat the process for the other tracks as well. Change the song channel to right 1 each time.
Unfortunately not. Once the audio recording is done there is no ability to transfer it. Yo8 can try importing it into Ableton if you would like to edit it.
Hi, thank you for you great explainer Video. I have seen you are using external monitor for your SX900. Do you think it is possible to use a touch screen external monitor and operate the keyboard from that monitor? I have seen people were able to do it for the Montage and MODX. Thank you.
Hi, Thank you for your explainer video. Would you please show us how you connect your PSR SX900 to external monitor? and also do you think it is possible to connect it to a touch screen monitor and be operated on that external monitor? Thank you.
Not sure what you mean by recall but if you change styles during recording then that will playback with the changes. Let me know if this doesn’t answer your question.
@@jennieburton9794 Thanks for your response. We are creating a song where almost all tracks are used up. So we need to insert multiple user styles created by ourselves into one single track. There are multiple styles of say 1 bar, 10 bars, 15 bars etc which need to be inserted into multiple places within one track. We are not able to do it as we are not able to call the custom styles at these places. Which functionality shall we use for this?
@@roopakn7035 if you put them in the registration presets they are instantly accessible. Also you can mix down with your tracks so you have unlimited tracks available to you.
I probably need more information but you can try selecting an empty channel, start the recording with the metronome speed you would like and let it play through to the end. This will set the metronome speed consistently to the same tempo for the entire song. Yo8 don’t need to play anything during this step.
@@jennieburton9794 So basically i have recorded a song with metronome on the multi track feature. I have used most of the chanels and i saved it. Let's say i recorded the song in BPM 100 and saved it. But when the song plays the certain place where I have recorded a certain instrument, it changes the tempo and goes to 88 or 64 etc. So I tried fast forwarding the song and correcting the tempo where the change has come, but this doesn't seem to help. But i shall try your idea. Thankyou so much for replying 😊
@@devimenon4378 when you changed sounds, did you do that from a registration memory? If so it would have picked up the tempo setting on that memory button. The other way you can fix this is by going into song recording and removing the metronome changes in the step edit.
