This channels all about my car life and how i manage to modify any car i touch, along the way i show you guys how you can get your hands dirty if you wanted to learn. Hope you have a fun time surfing around the channel.
this is exactly why you dont want bozo's working on your car. Get the right tools and you dont have to get a young heavy teen and a heavy hammer to take his vengence out on your suspension.
@@DrivenCarss thanks. I bought one of these from harbor freight.. "PITTSBURGH AUTOMOTIVE 3/4 in. Ball Joint Separator" . You can install this, apply pressure... then "tap" on the lower control arm. This will help separate the ball joint from the lower control arm AND Leave the "Sleeve" in the LCA intact! There is a little sleeve in the LCA which goes around the bolt.. and hitting the LCA too hard can inadvertantly pull it out.. So this ball joint separator will help separate the ball joint from the LCA in the right spot. And when you install the separator, you dont have to hit it that hard because there is pressure applied already to the bolt on the ball joint. That said, make sure the separator is on "squarely" on the bolt, and dont apply too much pressure.
i have 2005 TL automatic and transmission still going..135k miles. but I have been flushing the fluid since 60k miles. My 3.2 burns ZERO oil.. and as far as leaking... at 135k miles, I think they say the rear main seal is seaping very slightly.. But it NEVER drips 1 drop of oil on the floor.
The biggest difference between any tl is manual vs automatic transmission. Not only a huge fun factor, any automatic transmission tl can not beat a 6sp manual, no matter type s or not.
Had the 03 TL-S with bolt ons...Loved it....Traded it in for an 07 TL-S...Loved it even more....Traded it in for a slow Tacoma...Supercharged the Tacoma...Still miss the 3rd gen TL-S....Maybe I will get one again 😁
The HFL: Hands Free Link - parasitic drain (on battery power). Currently, there is class action law suit on this well known issue. AHM/American Honda Motor Co., sent a notice to both my husband, and me, at the same physical mailing address, as registered owners. Check it out.
Looks like you do got some unhealthy piston rings or a bad head gasket, cat deletes dont cause smoke because their shouldn't be any smoke to begin with lol
How did you modify the exhaust tips for the tl type s to sound louder? BTW I have an 07 tl type s, and it's the best car ever!! TL stands for True Love imo!
I have a 2007 TL and a 2007 TL-S. I bought the S with 118k. She is now 250+k. Has NO leaks at all. Keep up on the maintenance and these will treat you right! The TL I just picked up a few months ago. Sorting the maintenance neglect from the previous owner... From experience btw, if you've got mileage on a Honda auto trans, DO NOT flush it! Guaranteed wat to make it fail. Never flushed the trans even once on my S!
I have an 06 Acura TL automatic with 227k. The motor is super strong (but ive put a lot of work into the motor). The transmission shifts like a dream but I also change the fluids every 12k miles. While I bought it second hand most of the issues I had were strictly cosmetic. Since owning it I've replaced my two tweeters, 2x 6.5 door speakers, 8in free air sub, and 2x 6.5 rear deck speakers. I upgraded my stock amp with the 5 channel MB Quarts amp which was plug and play. Also installing a nice double din touch screen radio was awesome. I did have to get custom front and rear seats (mainly got custom front seats because it's a white car with tan interior and I still wanted heated seats on the new front seats.) I had coilovers at first but then went to air suspension. Because of the air suspension, I was only able to put in a single 12in sub. My white 06 acura tl with the Aspec kit with my purple rims turns heads. Also a downside is having to put 93 octane for gas. But I don't have any oil burning issues. Just make sure when you lower it you get a damn good camber kit. I got skunk2 upper camber arms and SPC rear adjustable control arms. Swapping my tan interior for black was a pain but for the most part I just used vinyl wrap around plastic pieces and ordered door panels for the front and back off ebay. If you know where to look there lots of aftermarket parts. Next will be to finish rebuilding the top side of the engine, then working on building up my transmission for the supercharger.
i recently got my type s for 500 its my first car ive already put 1.5k in it to get it running and i cant wait to see the car change and get better over time.
I’m looking to buy an automatic it’s an 07 model with 133k miles but the guy said when he starts the car that it smokes sometimes but that many times it doesn’t Is this major issue?
