Dude, you rock! Had a steady drip appear on our 2 year old faucet but disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling per your instructions fixed it. Thanks!
It works but took me like 6 or 7 times to get it to work right. I was cussing up a storm and panicking that I broke it. Was pissed af when it wasnt working as my faucet would drip leak sometimea and not others. So was freaking out thinking I would have to replace this apparatus. I did have like 5 to 10 tiny particulate in that white concave filter. My biggest issue was getting the pin in all the way and I believe the diaphram aligned. I was pushing the pin in with my finger but you really have to use a toothpick and push it in there deep. Seems like it's below surface level when it sets in. It would be nice if the manufacturer put a notch ot something on diaphram rim so that u make sure it's lined up or can fit only 1 way. On my 4th run I didn't put the blew clips on because i was like im prob going to have to try this again. That was a bad idea as the hose blew off and got a puddle in my cabinet. Besides that. It does work. You prob don't even need to unscrew that diaphram hose just need to clean that small white filter and be good to go. Anyways thanks for the video. Def works. Also it be nice if informed in begin of video how to disconnect everything.
Thank you Thuc! Our Delta Touch 20 was dripping and getting worse, to the point where we having to manually shut it off all the time. I tried installing a new cartridge. That wasn't the issue. Found your video and managed to disassemble the solenoid unit. I did find some debris but I suspect the main problem might have been an air bubble under the solenoid, as you mentioned.
Great video! Delta said to clean the in-line screen, but advised against disassembly. Still had a leak after cleaning the screen, but disassembly, cleaning and reassembly fixed it. Thanks!!
I disassembled the solenoid (without removing the pin from the plunger) thoroughly cleaned the rubber components as well as inside of the solenoid where white outlet seats into, reassembled and voila no more drips, leaks! Thank you for this video, it saved me over $200 for a replacement solenoid assemby from a reputable supplier.
Can you reverse the 'inner' filter (turn it 180 degrees inside the check valve) so you can change the check valve flow direction from one direction to the opposite direction?
Took mine apart(6 years old) after the classic "leaks when turn off by touch" problem. Cleaned the small filter (really made a difference in flow). Cleaned up both major parts, put it back together, but now it would not turn off at all by touch. Testing showed the electronics were working. Hmmm... Then realized just what my problem probably was. It's critical that the rubber tip of the small piston that pushes up against the black part make contact when touching "off". Thought about it and realized what I must have done. I had put a witness mark on the white part and a matching one on the black body but when I put it back together I unknowingly stopped one turn too early! (Ever put some part back together... then gave it "one more tweak" and broke it?) So after uninstalling it I gingerly spun the white part one more turn and re-installed. Waa-Laa! Now it's working perfect again with no leaks. Oh yea... why Delta wants 200 bucks for this part is nothing short of a mystery.
I am having the same issue where the touch sensor turns on and off but does not turn off the water. I tightened the white part but don't want to over tighten it and break it. The touch sensor is still not turning off the water. Do you know how much you had to tighten it? I didn't mark it in the beginning but have a picture of where the 3 tabs are located on the white part.
@@mel6012 All indications are you are having the same problem I did. That said, about the only thing I could recommend, given the information you have provided, is to remove it, spin it say... 1/4 turn, reassemble, test. Repeat until it : (1) starts working ... (2) breaks. Hopefully the former. Good luck and post here what your final outcome is if you get a chance.
Very helpful video, it fixed my drip. But I noticed that when I cleaned the diaphragm my cloth was black. There was a lot of black powder and the tube coming of the solenoid was black inside. Is that normal? It seems like the rubber diaphragm is breaking down.
@@thucnguyen9559 Sounds possible since we are on city water. Would it be safe to drink water coming through it? I did order a new one but have not installed it yet. I wonder if the same thing will happen over time.
Great instructional video. Thank you. My filter in the solenoid was full of small rubber pieces so was glad you showed me how to clean it. No more leaks!
Thanks for the video! My valve assembly was slightly different but had the same “pin” and your trick to ensure the pin was fully depressed worked! I had the valve stuck open (water flowing always, even with the light off). Now it’s working again!
After doing this my touch sensor is working (light turns on and off) but the faucet only works manually. Are you saying that you solved this problem by pushing in that tiny pin? I did that and double checked it but am still having the same issue. How did you solve it?
You were right, I decided to tighten it a bit more which ended up allowing the little pin to push the black rubber to open and close the flow of the water. No more leaking too!
Fantastic video, perfect description. I appreciate you putting in potential mistakes and instructions on how to avoid them. I followed your instructions and my faucet leaks no more. Thank you!
Thank you ! I am waiting for Delta to send me the replacement solenoid (Christy at Delta/Masco Canada) has been most helpful. Just ont question: Do I have to be careful and touch something to earth this? Just saw it somewhere and am not sure if this will apply here. Your vid is well done
