Delta Touch2O Drips Repaired

I bought a (returned) Touch2O faucet from Amazon. After installing the faucet, I purged the line out using the handle of the faucet using a clean white bucket. I repeated the purge until no more particles & debris came out. [Do not use the shut off valve under the sink. Thus still cause more calcium & rust to break lose.] After that, everything worked. Except for a very annoying drip. I called Delta Faucets & explained everything. They had me did some stuff. When nothing worked, the sent me another solenoid. 5 days later it arrived. I swapped them out & now I had a extra one. That is the one you see here.
New construction or renovation people. If they do not flush out the lines, before connecting any line make sure that there were no splinters in the open hole of the shut off valves. I found shall wood chips, sand, rust, & other debris. Thid must be why the original purchaser returned it.
After re-installing the original valve a few weeks ago, it is still working like a charm.

I had this same issue, I called delta ( I wish I could remember the woman's name I talked to). She asked me to pull the faucet out, and hold it so it couldn't retract, unscrew the faucet head ( there is a clip on it, just hold it in) make sure the water is in the on position, she had me run the water for 4 minutes, then tap the water off. Done, no more dripping

This method fixed my dripping problem. I planned to try Janet's method first and if it didn't fix it, try Thuc's but running water unimpeded by the faucet head dislodged the debris from the mechanism.

I just had the dripping problem appear. So I found this video to "repair" the problem DIY. Well, if he has broken off three tabs already, then the repair really isn't working. So I followed this Potter advise. SUCCESS! It was the answer. Remove your spray head, let it run like a wild snake, then (for me) the drip was gone!!! Thank you VERY MUCH for this answer. My OCD could not let this go overnight!

This video saved me buying a new solenoid. Was simple and my pipe works like a charm again. Only thing I did differently to put back the solenoid that actuated the diaphragm was to place a little water in the chamber and press it gentle to vacuum seal it as the pipe would of. I tried everything else to get it to stay flat but it was popping up and causing alot of issues. Hopefully this tip helps someone else save alot of time. Thanks so much for this helpful video.

Great Video!!!! One small oversight on some valves. Where the small solenoid goes in the base there is an "O" ring which can fall out. Mine fell out and unknowingly rolled under a paper towel. The Electronic valve cycled but would not turn off the water. After no luck fixing the valve I was cleaning up the paper towels and found the errant "O" ring and wondered where it came from. Close inspection of the disassembled valved show the area around the solenoid plunger was a perfect fit. I put the "O" ring back where I thought it went and the valve worked flawlessly. Your help was invaluable and the "O" ring issue might be the only thing preventing a perfect repair. Thank you for all the insight. BTW my faucets was made in December 2017, so there might be some modifications to the electronic valve since this video was made.

I realize you posted this a year ago, but I had the same problem - electronic valve cycling, but not turning off the water. I looked around my desk for any errant o-rings, but I currently have a ton of crap everywhere and there's really no great way for me to know if what I found is the o-ring in question. I'm inspecting the disassembled valve, but I''m not sure I see any perfect fit for this thing anywhere, let alone around the solenoid plunger (is that the little metal piece with the black rubber cap on one side?). I wish I could tale a picture of this thing so you might be able to say yes, that's it, or nope, wrong thing, keep looking....If this is the right thing (basic black rubber o-ring about a half inch in diameter), then how did you get it back in there (and where did you put it)?

Took mine apart(6 years old) after the classic "leaks when turn off by touch" problem. Cleaned the small filter (really made a difference in flow). Cleaned up both major parts, put it back together, but now it would not turn off at all by touch. Testing showed the electronics were working. Hmmm... Then realized just what my problem probably was. It's critical that the rubber tip of the small piston that pushes up against the black part make contact when touching "off". Thought about it and realized what I must have done. I had put a witness mark on the white part and a matching one on the black body but when I put it back together I unknowingly stopped one turn too early! (Ever put some part back together... then gave it "one more tweak" and broke it?) So after uninstalling it I gingerly spun the white part one more turn and re-installed. Waa-Laa! Now it's working perfect again with no leaks. Oh yea... why Delta wants 200 bucks for this part is nothing short of a mystery.

I am having the same issue where the touch sensor turns on and off but does not turn off the water. I tightened the white part but don't want to over tighten it and break it. The touch sensor is still not turning off the water. Do you know how much you had to tighten it? I didn't mark it in the beginning but have a picture of where the 3 tabs are located on the white part.

@@mel6012 All indications are you are having the same problem I did. That said, about the only thing I could recommend, given the information you have provided, is to remove it, spin it say... 1/4 turn, reassemble, test. Repeat until it : (1) starts working ... (2) breaks. Hopefully the former. Good luck and post here what your final outcome is if you get a chance.

Great video, thanks. One note-the pin in the bottom of the solenoid that the silver/rubber top plunger sits on is actually a spring. Using too much compressed air will make that spring pop out. It is very tiny and easy to lose. Also getting it back in is extremely difficult because there is a magnetic field in the bottom and makes it hard to thread the spring straight back in the hole. If you lose that spring the faucet will not work properly.
@RyanEvans-d9v

Great video. Another tip: before following the procedures described here I poured vinegar into the valve and let it sit for around 20 minutes. For me, that fixed the problem as the vinegar apparently dissolved the mineralized particles that were causing the problem.

@Paul Smith it's been about 6 years since it was installed. Did they say what the issue with the sink material is? It just seems like a weird coincidence that I cleaned out the solenoid valves and now the touch feature doesn't work. I speculate that it could have to do with that little pin that goes under the black rubber? I tried to tighten the white valve but am worried about overi tightening it.

It works but took me like 6 or 7 times to get it to work right. I was cussing up a storm and panicking that I broke it. Was pissed af when it wasnt working as my faucet would drip leak sometimea and not others. So was freaking out thinking I would have to replace this apparatus. I did have like 5 to 10 tiny particulate in that white concave filter. My biggest issue was getting the pin in all the way and I believe the diaphram aligned. I was pushing the pin in with my finger but you really have to use a toothpick and push it in there deep. Seems like it's below surface level when it sets in. It would be nice if the manufacturer put a notch ot something on diaphram rim so that u make sure it's lined up or can fit only 1 way. On my 4th run I didn't put the blew clips on because i was like im prob going to have to try this again. That was a bad idea as the hose blew off and got a puddle in my cabinet. Besides that. It does work. You prob don't even need to unscrew that diaphram hose just need to clean that small white filter and be good to go. Anyways thanks for the video. Def works. Also it be nice if informed in begin of video how to disconnect everything.

This is a great video, thanks. Alas, somehow after I got the screen all cleaned out and everything, when I put it back together, it doesn't work. That is, it turns on and off when I touch the handle, but turning it on or off does not stop the water. I have to open the handle (turn on the water) to get water to come out, which it does whether the LED is on or not. Then, if I touch the handle, the LED goes off and on, but water keeps pouring out unless I close the handle. So, now I just have to find the replacement solenoid Delta sent me a couple years ago so I can hook this all back up. It's weird to have to actually turn on and off using the handle. I don't know if I would eventually quit trying to tap the handle first or not...doesn't seem likely. Oh, well. Something must have broke. I saw the comment about an O-ring that had gotten off w/o him knowing about it and then he foundit later and then it worked, but I cannot see where in the world there would be any o-ring beside the one on the white plastic thing. I did find a random o-ring back at my desk, but I don't really know whether it's from this or not - and like I said, I can't see another o-ring on any parts in your video, so, whatever. Oh, and none of the wires are touching each other or any metal. Believe me, I checked. If anyone has any comments that might help me out, I would really appreciate it. I have already searched hi and low for replacement solenoid and have no idea where it might be....
