Welcome to Pops and GiGi's workshop! We have always liked to take on different projects so there is no telling what types of videos you will find here. Being the Pops and GiGi of 5 beautiful GBs (grandbabies), we may throw in some videos of them too. Pops is a great story teller and advice giver, so we may even throw some of his stories in there too! We've been married for almost 40 years, so he's accumulated a vast array of stories to share 😊 GiGi is an avid crafter, and loves to share her knowledge and insight into new projects she's working on. Together, they like to share with you their informal and informative information!

Hii’ thanks for your video the instructions on the manual were horrible… my filter(the blue tank) is leaking from the bottom… can i leave it as is? Ive done everything and it still leaks 😢
Welcome!! I'm glad you found the channel. I believe this tennis shoe tutorial is the first one I posted on the channel. Have you made one yet? I have found that the first one of anything you make seems to be the hardest. That's why I decided to do tutorial videos. To help people get through that first one😊. Again welcome to the workshop. I'm songlad you're here 🎉
Absolutely! The interfacing is totally optional. The only reason I add is because my mom always added interfacing to everything and after watching her sew for years and years I felt like I had to 😂. But it is completely optional. 😊
@user-wx6lz1iy9p honestly I don't remember. I would have to look back at the video but 13.5 sounds about right. I know it doesn't go all the way around the neck.
I used hose clamps. You have 2 intake ports from the pool labeled A. You take those 2 hoses, hook up a T connector to one hose that goes to the pump intake. The you have one hose running from the exhaust of the pump to the post labeled B on your pool. I hope this answers your questions and helps.
this is the only video i could find with the exact pump that i bought, all the others show a pump with an on/off switch. now unless im blind ... the only way to shut the syetem on and off is to unplug it correct ?
Surprised that you haven’t gotten more views. You did a very good job of explaining the installation. Just got this skimmer and in the process of installing. Always go to U tube and watch videos. I get a lot more benefit in watching videos when the instructions are confusing. Thanks
I wish I would have watched this first. I just put this together ... the directions are ok however never stated to put o rings on the fittings 😢 so I thought they were just extra of some sort. I can't get the clamps tight enough it's dripping water could th8s be due to not hav8ng the o rings in the fittings? Can I just turn the pump off and disassemble it? Do I need to brain the water out of the filter first? Thank you.
First of all, the O rings do need to be in place. You don't have to drain the filter, but you will loose water when you go to put the O rings in. Just follow the video from the point of where the O rings go in and it should be good.
I have the same exact filter and it just stopped working. No sound from the motor or anything. Is it shot? Or do I need to do something special to clean it out to make it work again? I’ve only had it for a month
This just happened to me and this is my second one. Pump worked all summer then quit so I didn’t worry but we are midsummer now and it just stopped. I just ran it yesterday too and it was fine 🤷🏼♀️🫠
Unfortunately I have no idea. Did you check the power to make sure it has power? Maybe tripped a breaker? My suggestion would be to call technical support.
I know this is an old video but I just had to make a comment. Two things. First you should never ever use Vaseline petroleum jelly on an o-ring. It can break down the rubber very quickly. You should only use a lubricant designed for o-rings. The second part, I was really looking forward to see exactly how you hooked up all the hoses, because there is nothing in the directions and they are poorly labeled. You skipped right from being in your garage, to the pump running. Some of it was helpful, so thank you for that
That has been my issue! I have been looking for days for any videos to show where to put the hoses and how to actually start up the filter..starting to regret buying this particular pump 😂
I can't say for sure, but I think it would if the hole isn't too big. Like maybe just a small hole. If it were me, I would give it a try for sure. We put that patch on our pool last year, and so far it's still holding really well. Good luck! Keep me posted.
I have a Coleman pool and I have a pump that is the HYDROTOOLS like yours. I think it’s a 42 inch sand top but I need a cord to run to about 50 feet. What type of cord would I get
There's about 3 ways you can get sand in the tube. Backwashed too long (only backwash for 30 seconds at a time), wrong kind of sand ie: too fine, which allows it to go through the laterals ( always use sand marked as pool sand), or the cap to block the sand from getting in the tube wasn't on properly when the sand was put in. If the sand is too fine and going through the laterals, you need to change the sand. Make sure it's pool grade sand. I hope this helps.
I have the same system just a bit bigger, it's not clearing my 24' and I have no idea where it get clean water for the return hole the water is dirty if you take it back apart.
If you've run the pump for 2 years or longer, chances are you need to change the sand in the filter. I actually just posted a video of how I changed the sand in our pump. That will help you. Have you backwashed it? You can also take a sample of the water to a pool supply store and have them test it. I hope this helps.
Allow the water to flow to the inlet port of the pump. Make sure the outlet port is secured to the pool. Then, plug in the pump to start. Water should start to flow thru. It may gurgle and sputter at first, that's normal. Allow the pump to run until the water flows freely in to the pool. I hope this helps
@@Pops-GiGis-Workshop Ours kept starting and stopping, then when it turned back on it would blow in nasty water. Hope yours lasts much longer than ours did!
Thank you so much. I love making those sneaker bags. I hope I was able to help you make one. The cabinet in the background (if that's the one you're talking about) was my grandmother's china cabinet. I absolutely love it. Thank you for noticing it 😊
