Hey I’m sorry I have a question for you, hoping you can help and I can phrase the question in a way that makes sense. But After you backwash for 30 seconds and turn it back off, do you switch the valve on top to rinse before you disconnect the backwash fitting and hose? Or do you rinse with cap on? Just trying to avoid shooting sand somewhere it’s not supposed to go haha
Yeah getting sand in places it doesn't belong is a pain isn't it 🤣 So you backwash for 30 seconds, turn it off, switch to rinse, and rinse for about a minute. I have since learned to just leave the backwash hose attached and not put the cap back on. I backwash our pool at least once a week. I rund our pump 8 hours a day every day.

@@Pops-GiGis-Workshop pool water is filling up to the skimmer now with pump attached. I HAVE NOT turned it on yet. I read you have to backwash to get the air out when you first turn it on. Did you do that? Also I don’t have a backwash hose so I wonder if I can get away without it first time?!
@@diamondgeezer000 if all the hoses are full of water, and they should be if the water level is full. Just take the cap off the backwash port (at 3 o'clock position) and even if you don't have a BW hose, run in backwash for about 30 seconds. A lot of water will come out so make sure your clear on that side. Cut the pump off, then switch to filter position. Turn the pump on and let it run. Be sure and cap off the BW port when your done
this is the only video i could find with the exact pump that i bought, all the others show a pump with an on/off switch. now unless im blind ... the only way to shut the syetem on and off is to unplug it correct ?
I used hose clamps. You have 2 intake ports from the pool labeled A. You take those 2 hoses, hook up a T connector to one hose that goes to the pump intake. The you have one hose running from the exhaust of the pump to the post labeled B on your pool. I hope this answers your questions and helps.
Your video was the best video that I found. BUT the thing I need to see you actually connecting it to the actual pool. I still don’t know if you can convert if if you already have water in it. Please let me know if you converted it with a “ full pool “. Thank you
Thanks Tammy! What we did is fill the pool first, and ran the hoses to the pump then pulled the plugs inside the pool which released the water in to the hoses. Thus no need for priming the pump. Then you turn the pump on. The plugs that come with the pool should be installed prior to filling the pool. I hope this helps 😊
Hii’ thanks for your video the instructions on the manual were horrible… my filter(the blue tank) is leaking from the bottom… can i leave it as is? Ive done everything and it still leaks 😢
I wish I would have watched this first. I just put this together ... the directions are ok however never stated to put o rings on the fittings 😢 so I thought they were just extra of some sort. I can't get the clamps tight enough it's dripping water could th8s be due to not hav8ng the o rings in the fittings? Can I just turn the pump off and disassemble it? Do I need to brain the water out of the filter first? Thank you.
First of all, the O rings do need to be in place. You don't have to drain the filter, but you will loose water when you go to put the O rings in. Just follow the video from the point of where the O rings go in and it should be good.
I have the same system just a bit bigger, it's not clearing my 24' and I have no idea where it get clean water for the return hole the water is dirty if you take it back apart.
If you've run the pump for 2 years or longer, chances are you need to change the sand in the filter. I actually just posted a video of how I changed the sand in our pump. That will help you. Have you backwashed it? You can also take a sample of the water to a pool supply store and have them test it. I hope this helps.

Im seriously over my pool. They said eventually I'd need to upgrade to a sand pump but it's been a nightmare even searching for one let alone trying to put it together!
I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with your pool. It's something that's supposed to be relaxing for you and not stressful. 😮💨 I tried to make my video helpful and easy to understand, so I'm sorry I wasn't able to help you. Honestly at this point, it may just be easier all the way around to simply hire someone to set it up for you. Then at that point all you would need to worry about is the chemicals. And of course which float to float around on 😊.
I know this is an old video but I just had to make a comment. Two things. First you should never ever use Vaseline petroleum jelly on an o-ring. It can break down the rubber very quickly. You should only use a lubricant designed for o-rings. The second part, I was really looking forward to see exactly how you hooked up all the hoses, because there is nothing in the directions and they are poorly labeled. You skipped right from being in your garage, to the pump running. Some of it was helpful, so thank you for that

Allow the water to flow to the inlet port of the pump. Make sure the outlet port is secured to the pool. Then, plug in the pump to start. Water should start to flow thru. It may gurgle and sputter at first, that's normal. Allow the pump to run until the water flows freely in to the pool. I hope this helps
Are you talking about the head assembly that attaches to the blue basen? Is there any way you can send a picture? I'm not exactly sure where you're talking about.

Oh yes! It will pump 2400 gal. per hour if I'm not mistaken. So you will be in great shape. Our pool is 2400 gallon and it cycles it every 2 hours. We rund it 6 hours at night (on a timer) and ours is great.
There's about 3 ways you can get sand in the tube. Backwashed too long (only backwash for 30 seconds at a time), wrong kind of sand ie: too fine, which allows it to go through the laterals ( always use sand marked as pool sand), or the cap to block the sand from getting in the tube wasn't on properly when the sand was put in. If the sand is too fine and going through the laterals, you need to change the sand. Make sure it's pool grade sand. I hope this helps.
I did ground this unit. I used 12ga shielded wire . Drove a piece of 1/2 rebatb into the ground about 8 inches, then secured one end of the wire to the pole using a hose clamp. Attached is the other end of the wire to the terminal clamp that came mounted to the motor.
You will want to note the pressure on the gauge after initial start up. Then, when you notice the pressure is between 5-10 psi more than your original startup pressure, you will need to backwash to remove debris. After that, your pressure should return to something close to what the original startup pressure was. Hope this helps!
Make sure the unit is turned off when you try to change any head setting. Then push the handle down to turn to whatever setting you want. Honestly I don't know what to suggest if sand gets in the unit. I would think it could possibly damage the unit. I think the best thing to do in this situation is to call tech support or the help support line for the unit. Sorry I couldn't help more than that.
What won't fit, the hoses?? My pump had 1 1/4 ID hoses. If your fittings on your pool are a different size, you may need to go to a plumbing supply house and get some additional fittings to fit.
There isn't an on and off switch. That's the one negative about that pump that I've found. Putting power to it should turn it on. You have to come up with your own on/off switch. I put ours on a timer. I have ours set to run for about 10 hrs a day. I hope this helps. Let me know if I can help further 😊
@karen martin I got my timer on Amazon. You can just plug it up to a receptical and use an extention cord to the unit. Or you can get an electrician to hard wire it. I'll see if I can add a picture if the one we have.

Last year i had a hard time trying to keep the stock filter clean . This would be a better solution i belive . Is it esier to maintain the pool with this filter ? Does it come with sand or is it separately purchased? Thanks i am going to try and set ut up this weekend .
Yes it is definitely easier to keep clean with this type of filter. Usually the filters that come with the pools are barely enough. The sand is sold separately. I think you will be well satisfied with a sand filter 😊
You are correct. I love this system . I could never get the pool clear with the filtration system it came with . It's been raining for 2 days now on and off , I run the pump when it's not raining, and I don't know if it can run in the rain, so I just jeep it covered .
