I'm N-scale... but I propose a system that can have better conductivity and avoid these little stops: make the whole part between the rails metal and therefore conductive. It is the system used here in Spain by Ibertren in their 3N system (sort of a copy of the Märklin system but for N scale in the 1970s, which was not successful). Ich glaube mit K-Gleisen war es einfacher. All unsere Videos haben Deutsche Untertitel. Deutscher Ton soll irgendwann auch kommen, wenn RU-vid endlich liefert.
The studded contact are lower than the top of the rails, which the road needs to fill. Also Sven Magnus chose this solution due to the fact that his father had used for many years with success. My philosophy is functionality over looks: If it doesn't work, it doesn't help at it looks good.

Thanks this review 👍 Would have been interesting to see the wagon running with short couple.... Isn't that a bit too orangey? and LED with luminous walls 🤔 Its something fishy and it should have been interesting to see them gone backwards.
As said, they were out ours, so I didn't want to start with big modifications. The orangey colour is due to the colour temperature in the room. It doesn't get dark in Norway at the moment, so outside light is very cold, which intensify the warm of the car. They used normal warm-white LED. I passed all issues to manufacturer already.
Yes, we had buy locomotives from other countries as reliable Norwegian steam locomotives are extremely had to procure. We had two NMJ Superline, but we found very quickly they would fit heavy operation. They don't have regular couplers, neither traction tires and would derail on the Trix C-Tracks in the shadow station. They are just made to look good, but drive poorly. We went for locomotives which give the correct feel for the era, so no German one with the characteristics red wheel. Most of our visitors would not notice it, and the others would understand why we had to do like that.
@@trainsofnorway9664 Yes, Mæarklin, Trix and Roco have one. (or had one) We didn't see one for a good price at the last train show (we used already way too much on the project) We might buy one for version 2 or 3, when we have expanded the layout.
Great video thank you. In 2:28 you say there is no reliable way to uncouple cars but I think there is using Rocrail. Here is my small Rocrail layout with a mashalling yard / shunting activity using also a bit of XML and an Infra Red phototransistor connected directly to a M88 sensor input ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SVEqKjZy7Tk.html. The trick is to have an IR beam shooting in oblique (between buffers and couplers) so that it detects couplers reliably.
Cool video. Our new trAIn product would certainly help your project. What I was referencing was the mechanical part. I wanted to that train arrives, then a shunter couples to other end, then the cars are uncoupled, and finally it drives away. I'm sure it could be made working in specials cases, Just to make sure it works in 99% of the cases is the problem.
Das Ding ist nur zum programmieren von QDecoder. Für einen Lokdecoder kannst du genau so gut deine Zentralen verwenden. Leider gibt es keinen universellen programmer, und jeder Hersteller kocht sein eigenes Süppchen.
Very nice progress although I have since watched more recent videos, you have come a long way since trying to build a small M-track layout. I remember Bachmann used to sell a foam tunnel that had a working waterfall, possibly actually made by Busch, must not have been too popular with parents of children who put it on their carpet model railway!
Yes sometimes HO scale lamps can be too large for whatever reason, its almost if they used the moulds from an old lamp meant for Scale S, which has become very uncommon in europe and even in the USA, where it has become either a toy trian scale, or a Finescale niche hobby where trains are build from scratch mostly or are expensive brass models. Think Kiss, Fulgurex and KM1 type prices.

It really is years past time that Marklin/Trix started to use modern motors. Also by now dynamic smoke and steam from the cylinders. Even Hornby is starting to offer that on some locos, and using water too rather than stinky smoke oil.
AI for sound though? Imagine a loco would sound like it’s working harder pulling a heavier scale train than a lighter one, and actually sounding right at speed!
@@thetrainroom Maybe if it can be connected to make full processes of moving goods (for example coal) between two different points, from the step to load it into the wagons to reload it into ships, another factory, that would be nice. Also, when quantum technology is so improved, it can control and move the small model people, that would be also great. :)
@@thetrainroom the Piko 0-4-0 tank loco has conventional pickups so no isolation is needed, I have seen people add DCC to these "toy" locomotives and they end up running much more like a model than a toy.
