Painting demonstrations, tutorials, and analysis of masterworks, in the spirit of Apelles, the greatest painter from antiquity. His technique was described by Pliny and has been emulated by painters such as Titian, Rembrandt, Velasquez, Anders Zorn and Odd Nerdrum. Apelles was once asked why he touched and retouched his pictures with so much care, to which he replied: "I paint for eternity."

Solvents when it reach a certain temp it will self ignite. Also the wire brush is a great idea. I was a house painter for years and paint builds up on the Ferrel after so long and brushing them straight from the ferrel to the tip of the brush never cross brushing. I had Purdy brushes that lasted for years. Lpve the content thanks
Ciao, cosí hai ottenuto il medium per la tempera grassa, puoi anche usare l'acqua per diluire l'impasto del colore, ma se usi altro olio di semi di lino, il dipinto impiegherà una vita ad asciugare. So you got the medium for greasy tempera, you can also use water to dilute the color dough, but if you use more flaxseed oil, the painting will take a lifetime to dry.
Hi, what do you mean by "gypsum", calcium carbonate, chalk of Bologna, White of Spain, or what exactly? You don't use glue to bind the plaster, just oil?
I love Odd Nerdrum's work, and introduced it to some people around me in France. To my surprised, these people now think there's something deeply wrong with me... just for loving his work. I can't believe the visceral reactions it prompted in them, but mostly how people can actually outcast someone so easily from the appreciation of paintings.
These guys spend years “studying” painting with their cult leader and don’t know the most basic technical things about painting. Now go mix mastic and linseed oil in your paints for awesome, masterful results.
Okay, i have a question. If you put heat treated walnut in the upper layers, doesn't that go against the rule of putting quicker drying things under slower drying things?
Tusen takk for en fantastisk omvisning.
the Bible does NOT say that you have to pay to get God on your side... that is ridiculous. Christ is King. I've heard several slanderous remarks about Christianity on your videos and I will not be watching them anymore.
Panel is superior to canvas or linen in every way. The old masters preferred panel for very good reasons. I have had nothing but trouble with canvas. Also, its just annoying to work with.... always floppy after working on it a while... and you can't be aggressive with it as far as scraping, sanding, etc.. I also think it is far less archival than panel. The oils in oil paint break down canvas but not panel. The owner of Wynn casino put a pen through his Picasso because it was on canvas not panel.... lost tens of millions. I have also seen shippers destroy my paintings o canvas but never panel. panel panel panel panel..... try it.
Odd Nerdrum is something special! Although he's not an artist in my eyes, but a very good painter, I like Odd Nerdrum. But sorry, guys. All these imitations that come out of the Odd Nerdrum school are incredibly cheap knock-offs. It would be about the same as if Francis Bacon had students who copied his painting style. Ridiculous.
I'll pay 50 cent to the person who can find a contour line.... 50c wow you must be either not at all confident in your statement or extremely stingy 😂😂😂
Please, don’t stop bringing up these master classes you’re doing to. I am pretty sure that there’re so many people appreciating your work, and I’m truly one of them!!!
