Great video. That tiny tidbit about moving the fan forward or back for more or less control/stability is actually a rare tip on RU-vid. You might want to make a short video about it. It might get a lot of traffic.
Merci beaucoup tu m'as convaincu car j'hésitais et je me demandais si la planche n'étais pas trop large pour pouvoir vraiment avoir de la maniabilité !
Got a question about popping up, so I am now moving from longboard to short board. But I am struggling to pop up on the wave. I pop up before I fully catch the wave, people say that you just get a feeling and you will know. But I can’t find that feeling. So I have been trying to take a few on my stomach and see if I can find that feeling of catching it, so any tips with getting that feeling? Thanks, hope it makes sense.
Hi, When using it as a "slight" step up as johane sugests, how much literage are you expected to go up from your everyday? My everyday is 5'9" 26.7 (inferno 72)
You forget to mention that perfectly wooden stand to place the board it's very hard to find a perfect spot to pull in and out the fins from time to time!! My son is riding for fcs and I will have to say their fin technology and quality performance is leading so far🔥🤙
does the pad not cut your knees? i tried one and it was so bad i had to remove it i would have rub burns and bleed. i don't know if it was just the specific one i was using or if that's how they all work.
I have a Joel Tudor 10.125" carbon fiber fin on my 9'6". The part that goes into the board is around 8 or 9 inches in length, and is fairly wide all the way through. Similar to the Orange one you discussed. now is the fin too big for my board? it was what was recommended to me at a board shop when I mentioned I wanted to start walking the nose more.
This is the opposite of what I’ve heard and what I’ve experienced. My quad is fun but I can drive the fins through the turn with a bit of slide. The extra fin gives some extra push out of a bottom turn which creates more speed. I can ride this board in surf up to 6 ft. I’ve ridden it in 8 ft waves but I have a really hard time holding my line because the tail seems to want to slide down the wave. Alternatively, my thruster feels much more locked in. I can ride it in any size waves, but it really performs best in bigger waves and good conditions.
yeah I agree, similar experience on short board, Waveski and Surfkayak, yet everyone says quad is tighter and makes more drawn out lines. yet those people have the high rake fines with the stabilising fin waaaaay back.
my oh my .... now i will need to spend a lot of $$$ in order to buy and test out a few dozen fins in hopes to find that perfect one to win the EDDIE in 2024 ~
Excellent video thank you - very clear and informative. I have a 9'6 board and would like a 9'6 hybrid fin with US box (screw) - are there any brands you would recommend?
