Are the realignment screws for vertical adjustment only? I have one that the user has to push the glass in by hand, in order for it too seat when closing
I legit just stick a plastic tool if you wanna protect paint but a flat head will work…. You can slide the bottom clip out just by sticking the tool in there and sliding down the go to the next one lift the moulding so you can see the clip jam the screw driver between the clip and the Metal groove and twist just bend the metal back when done or move the clips to a different spot, f150 clips are not the same as these clips a lot more brittle and different size in general
Most door glass that are frameless have to be realigned regardless if you use oem or “aftermarket”. Frameless door regulators have alignment screws to readjust the glass after it has been broken.
Hi, On my 1970 nova all the channels are new bare metal. Should I leave it bare before painting the whole car for you to prime or you want the car painted 1st then you sand and prime/install? Thanks john
Hi John, if you’re talking about the pinch-weld where the glass sits. You should prime and paint the area. Sand a bit of the paint around the pinchweld and use an all in one dupont glass primer and shoot the glass urethane. Make sure to also prime the glass with DuPont all in one primer.
Thanks for the reply probably the best answer I've gotten so far I will epoxy paint the whole car lightly sand the pinch welds clear coat then apply glass primers pinch primers the urethane. Ty
Looking good TJ--thanks for the training as always. May the underside of your pillow always be cool. You have helped me overcome the worst designed mirror attachment system ever.
The best hack, yet, I cut up a hard plastic container to make a tool to slip down between the window and the weatherstrip and release the clamps. It worked great thank you very much.
Thanks! Perfect! Perfect instructions. Perfect video. Short and sweet and includes EVERYTHING a person would want to know to attempt this. Perfect to show the backside of the mirror and clip. Simply the best video on YT to show how to do this safely, and confidently without breaking the windshield. Thanks!!
I tried your method and finally for it to work. I think my cutting board maybe has more flex, but it does work. :) The only problem I had was there plastic piece that connects into the clips came of the replacement window that I replaced. It was just mounted with silicone instead of the mastic Ford uses.
@@WindshieldFitters sorry! but the site just state the services. I'm in houston. You are welcome to share the quote so your audience could have an idea too.
It’s even an easier way than that just take the strip from the outside of the door press the pressure holds to let it go take it out then slip the other in
I NEVER comment on videos.......but I just used this method and it literally to 5 min. I was going to take the door apart..... THANK YOU IT WORKED GREAT
@@rachaeltedder8674 The clip I am referring to is inside the arm of the mirror. The part on the windshield is still attached with my clip. You WANT the clip to remain inside the mirror arm so it can grab onto the part on the windshield.
