Jesse Gmz if you are talking about the cowling, there are plastic clips you have to remove and you should be able to slide cowling out towards front of the vehicle. Also check the cowl corners to make sure they aren’t clipped in to the body.

To answer your question the simplest way possible yes there’s a difference between OEM and aftermarket windshields when it comes to vehicles equipped with ADAS. Not from a safety standard but from a glass clarity standard. The pvb film and the glass clarity has to be the exact same as oem for that camera to focus properly. If the clarity on the glass is not the same you will be unable to calibrate it properly.

Philip Anderson Yes aftermarket glass could work with calibration but there’s always a chance that it won’t calibrate. Honda/Acura are known to have calibration issues with aftermarket glass.

Jim CCC Hi Jim, on Honda/Acura’s is recommended to use OEM glass and always always recalibrate sensors when windshield it’s replaced. Sometimes dealer can not calibrate if aftermarket glass is used. Check logo on windshield to see what brand of glass was used. If it doesn’t say Acura then it’s aftermarket glass. If it’s aftermarket ask the dealer first if they can calibrate aftermarket glass.

Windshield Fitters definitely was not oem glass, unfortunately car was bought two states away so taking back not an option. I called salesman and he said local glass company replaced so not even national company that might have local branch. They are willing to pay for so far but don’t know price yet, any idea what $ would be expected?

Jim CCC replacement for oem should be around $1500 and calibration should be around $200-500.
