Back when i was 5 years old, i stepped on my dog tail and he give me a scar on the right cheek of my face(he was very close to get my eye too),my neighbor that was older and used to play tenchu 1 and show me him playing, used to call me rikimaru and when the other friends saw rikimaru and the scar i got, they started to call me rikimaru too, when i think that nowadays other kids would have bully me to death for that scar. I realize how lucky i was to have those friends on my life and how a character like rikimaru become a very important of my life, even today i remember fondly the character and return to listen the soundtrack a lot during the year. Thank you rikimaru.
Mission: Descend into Hell, destroying demons and their supreme master in order to rescue a captured child, but not before you must first infiltrate the enemy stronghold... at night... outside in the bitter cold of winter... with poor visibility... and no proper winter clothing... do this, all by yourself. Seriously, can we get a REMASTER OF THIS GEM ALREADY?! PLEASE !
The setting on this stage was brilliant. It was like something out of a dream. I think the fact that the trees descended into darkness off the mountain really helped to add an element of mystery and intrigue to what could have otherwise been just a "normal mountain." This song and stage were perfectly married.
When a composer is not afraid to mix his own culture's music with jazz and other sounds and tones that are straight out of a fever dream, we get this masterpiece. Noriyuki Asakura is the G.O.A.T. and no one and nothing else will ever change my mind. Not ever.
Show me a game made during this era, with music as rich and atmospheric as this one, single track... and I'll align all the planets in the universe to make a giant happy face. I won't hold my breath.
This is just the craziest boss music ever! Really think about it. How it starts tentative, then explodes with controlled chases! Then become accurate and intense, then fruitful! Then it’s back to the intensity! Absolutely perfect, who ever wrote this, is a badass
What was cruel was overall, Rikimaru actually survived, Princess Kiku was the one to die, and the griefstricken Ayame was possessed by the demon Onikage, so she's now Rikimaru's enemy. 😞
This is the one track I'm not super into, but it does have its moments. The exorcist part is cool and there are a couple other good moments. And it's still nostalgia.
This track is both creepy and unsettling at the same time. And wtf were those weird noises in this level. One sounded like babies crying and I have no idea what the other crowing like sound was. It's weird and unexplained, as far as I know and I love it.
It is a shame fate denied you the chance to live as a happy ordinary woman. Can't get away with that these days. Although both characters smack talked her.
When my sister started this game up for the first time and I was hit with a super stealth anime opening with duel male/female vocals I didn’t know what to think but “this is a fucking game” more or less. The transition from Soft and submissive sexy female to a strong “AYE-YEAHHHHH” which…wait that’s all he said. It was like “get ready for this shit bitch” it was a bit scary since I wasn’t accustomed to animated violence (until Resident Evil/Parasite Eve) anyway this song was hypnotic
Noriyuki Asakura is a freaking master artist. I have the entire soundtrack from all Tenchu and Way of the Samurai games in FLAC (all done by him). If you guys know any other soundtrack by him similar to those games let me know. I can't find any music genre similar to his music. To me it's totally one of a kind
