-Welcome to the Sleep Ranch! We are located in the Northern Black Hills on the South Dakota/ Wyoming border where our ancestors settled and started ranching in 1883.
I (Carson) work alongside my parents, Jeff and Jodi, our ranch hand, Jaques, my wife, Damaris who also works as a nurse in town, and our son Silas! We have friends and family who come along very frequently as well!
We run a cow/calf operation where we summer our cattle on the Black Hills National Forest and winter them in the foothills of the Black Hills. We also have a backgrounding feedlot, and grow alfalfa and grass hay.
This is what I had dreams of doing when I was a much younger man. I have never owned a horse but I had a limited exposure to being around horses back in the 1960s. I always wanted to be a “working cowboy” and not like the Hollywood movie stars on television. Although this is real work, I have always wanted to do this for a living. Thanks for sharing your video. You make an old man feel like a kid again.🙏
The title scared me to death when I saw this one! Yikes! That was too close for comfort my friend. Im so grateful that your herd was further away!!! We are on pins and needles up here right now because of fires all around us. The forest all around our cattle pastures and the home ranch is SO dry. We get thunderstorms without much precip and then you're on edge waiting to see where all the lightning hits were around you. When all the animals depend on you for their safety and care, fires are one of the most terrifying possibilities because we cant load that many animals, move them to friends or neighbors places all that quickly. Oh SO scarry. Good luck and stay safe. Just a funny note, when you said you were running out there. Reminded of something dad use to say, "it would probably be faster to drive then run". Tokenizing all the worlds assets, the new tokenized ledger system is being marketed as inclusionary but is actually exclusionary if you don't play along. The goal is to dominate us with 1) Digital IDs and 2) Natural World Tokenization. Example, go into a forest or lake, identify the natural asset & at no cost to you, you issue shares in the natural asset then sell those shares to the sovereign wealth funds, asset managers,(blackrock & wall street) & then you have an IPO & generate all the money. They're fractionalizing it to sell to people, framing it all as the only way to save the planet. But really its the only way for them to save their insane debt racket.

I looked into carbon credits and was told that, because we are already doing the right things, the companies won't buy our credits. The corporations want farmers who will change their practices to "the right things". So, because we aren't using conventional tillage on our land, but are doing minimum tillage, we can't sell carbon credits. Go figure.
The lay of the land looked kind of familiar around there until I realized I grew up about 6 miles west of you back in the 1950's. Just south of Beulah along Sand Creek.
Great idea Carson . Might as well as take advantage of whatever credits you can. Ranching is so dependent on weather, market conditions, the grace of God and a lot of luck. Thanks for the nice video.
