Is very obvious Dipoto is not the right GM to build a balanced roster, he's amazing at pitching but terrible at offense, and pretty mediocre at roster construction overall. Dipoto fans would say is ownership fault for being cheap and even blame Servais. Lets remember there are teams better than us with a smaller payroll so is a lame scapegoat for his mediocrity. Dipoto always gets aging 30's players on decline. I'm not too excited for any potential trades he could make,hopefully this time FO finally gets a good fairly young hitter and not another aging, high strike out mediocre hitter past his prime 2 years.

In retrospect I wish I would have put more of his defensive highlights in there lol. Hopefully 2nd half J-Rod shows up and gives everyone some electric offensive highlights!
Would be cool to see them try to get Tommy Pham from the White Sox in the immediate future. I know it’s inter-division but a guy like Brent Rooker from the A’s would be dope IMO.
It could be a very weird deadline too. With the new playoff format and how many teams are “in the race” right now, there may not be many teams wanting to sell.

I don’t know what the answer is with this franchise. Overspending in free agency is completely idiotic(especially when ownership refuses to add a lot of payroll. The Dodgers can get away with overspending. The Mariners can not). I don’t know what the answer is here. I was afraid this was going to happen a couple of years ago. They did a half assed rebuild. Not a full rebuild like the Astros did. Along with players who just didn’t pan out(Kyle Lewis, etc)
I get that point of view for sure. Overpaying at the deadline is hardly ever worth the squeeze long term. But with how this pitching staff is performing right now, I feel like you at least have to try something. I'm afraid if they don't try to make something happen this year, they could just end up in the limbo of mediocrity for years. And it would be a shame to waste a pitching staff like this. This kind of staff can make a very successful playoff run. Granted the pitching staff could do it again next year...but there are no guarantees IMO
cheap ownership pretending they did the fans a favor by going after nobody of substance has destroyed our rebuild. I still have faith but the offense is beyond dreadful
It sucks man. The GM saying all that stuff about their 54% rule was so lame. And trading Kelenic made zero sense to me, and it especially hurts now with how he’s been playing lately in Atlanta.

In the last 15 games he’s batting .117/197/150 .347 ops leading the league in errors and worst in the league in OAA and DRS and his BAIBIP was extremely high in April and the only reason he didn’t bat .750 in may bc his strikeouts didn’t let him put the ball in play very much but now in may his strike outs are going up and his BAIBIP is around average so he stinks. As well as only 2 steals because simply you can’t steal when you can’t hit 💀💀💀
Just a correction here, Marsh is playing mostly LF. Rojas is their regular CF. Also, Suarez had his, I believe, his first full spring training here. He had visa issues in 2021 and 2022, and played in the WBC last year. I don't think that is a coincidence. It happens to coincide with him really improving his control and velocity, but while a sub 2 era probably isn't sustainable, I don't think this season is a fluke. He's going to be good for a long time. Phillies need to lock him up through at least his remaining arbitration years.
Bobby Witt is the real deal . He isn’t even in the prime of his career yet . They have great starting pitching . Salvy is playing out of his mind . The KC Royals are for real

We've played like 10 teams under .500 this year so people use that as an excuse. What they neglect is that half those teams are *only* under .500 *because* they played us, and at least 3 of the remaining 5 are *about to be* above .500, and 2 or 3 of those teams have beaten the Braves where we swept them.
Bohm deserves accolades. I gave him shit for his defense (deservedly so) in his first few years. And he killed us offensively in the playoffs in 2023, but he's a damn fine player, and deserves the love he's getting. This is one fierce lineup for pitchers, even without Turner who was doing great offensively. I hope they can keep this up, it's gonna make for a very fun summer/fall if they can sustain this.
