I am quite new to all this. Bought a hobonichi cousin April start, and I loved it from the start. I love following you and being inspired by what you do, it's so nice. Especially love the videos where you decorate your pages both in weeks and cousin. I just love you videos - thanks.
2:00 You moved into the cousin for extra space and the Cousin has 544 pages and quotes at the bottom of each daily page vs Sterling Ink's Common Planner A5 with 520 pages and NO quotes. Hmmm.
i feel the same way about my notebooks that i abandon! I try to keep in mind what clairefromonline says, "i'm not afraid of paper!" it's only paper, and it shouldn't keep you hostage, but help you with your life ❤ such a cozy video 🖊️ 📖
this was such a cozy video! i always love seeing your process for creating :) the stamp pads i find best for tomoe river paper are the versamagic chalk inks! they shadow but don’t bleed through
Thank you so so much Bucky 🥰 omg yes I think I remember you mentioning those and I 100% forgot the brand you'd told me so THANK YOU for reminding me! ❤️
Lovely! I get feeling like you have to finish something. I've been the most consistent this year in my cousin, but I don't use the weeklies. I've been dabbling in my A5 Create with Penn blank grid notebook and I've been tempted off and on to shelve my cousin and just use the CWP... its such a lovely notebook. You should just use what you want to use in the moment. That's my opinion. 😊
Thank you so much, this is such good advice 🥰 it sounds like you have a lovely combination going on there! I think it's definitely a great idea to go with what's inspiring you and that you feel at home in the most at the time!
Thank you for taking us along your lovely days~ I have been eyeing your decorations of the PTD notebook on instagram and was so glad to hear you talk about it here! 💌
I like the look of the PTD planner, but I just don’t have a use for the weeklies. Does anyone know of a planner without the weeklies? The Hobonichi Dayfree sadly doesn’t come with a day per page layout 😢
You can 100% write over the weeklies, they are so minimal they kind of blend into the page! But if you don't fancy doing that I just saw this morning that Aura Estelle are launching a new planner that is just monthlies and then 365 undated grid pages after those, no weeklies 😊
Such a beautiful stamp! I so want you to stamp it on a paper bad and then rip that image out and use it in your collage. I have that same ink pad in my cart and kinda going hmmm. But I love that it is so small and perfect for traveling. I love your style and running your videos while I journal.
Ooh I'll definitely have to do that when I get back to my scrap paper drawer at home 😊 you're right, it's the perfect travel size! The ink does bleed through on Tomoe River Paper but it's not too much of a big deal! Thank you so much for watching!
I’m SO tempted to try this book!! I’ve been missing having a book that’s exclusively my journal and lately I feel like I’ve been avoiding my cousin/ daily journaling because I’m in a busy season and I have to flip through lengthy to-do work lists to get to my fun daily pages 😕 how have you been enjoying moving away from a one book system?
I really do recommend the PTD notebook, I think it's a really lovely exercise in creativity for me so far! OKAY yes so I'm the same as you!! I didn't really want boring to-dos and work stuff in my journal, and I realised it was really preventing me from taking it out the house, when in actual fact that's not very practical for a planner 🙃 I'm enjoying the separation a lot more 😊
Enjoyed this video. Your comment on reading faster on Kindle, resonated with me. I was at Staioneryfest in Manchester and thoroughly enjoyed your presentation. 😊
Lovely calm video for a Sunday evening 💛 Venvstas is an Italian brand 😊I think it's pronounced Venustas, as in the Latin word for loveliness or beauty (which in turn comes from the goddess Venus). The ink you got, Fumo di Londra, means 'Smoke of London'. Had never heard of all these 3 inks, so pretty!!! And I'm glad to hear your talk went well and that you had a good time at Stationery Fest!
your spreads are always so gorgeous!! i love when i’m watching you put together collages and going “hmm that i think that should go there” and then seeing you stick it down where i thought of. makes me feel like i’m a dad watching sports and someone scored a goal 😂
if i remember right, there's an established rule in design, photography etc known as the 'rule of odds'. it's widely seen that odd numbers help create balance and symmetry. i always do this too, particularly with things like what items are put on a shelf or mantlepiece.
I know your knitting stuff is mostly on Patreon now but I really enjoyed that end of year round up of projects you did and would love a mid-year one if possible
Purely because I swapped systems, and I didn't want to back fill 3 months in the January start 😊 also, I found this April start one on sale so it seemed like fate!
Brilliant! This is just what I needed today, and thank you for sharing. I love seeing how everyone uses the same "physical" journals in such different ways that works for them. I especially appreciate you sharing.....
I've been thinking about 2025 planner set up since late Feb at least hehe. My birthday is September so in the last couple of years, my Hobonichi order has been my birthday gift to myself
I’m so glad I’m not the only one 😅 ooh that’s such a good birthday gift, what a lovely treat! I have a Miso Paper order arriving today so I’m planning on saving that to open on my birthday 😊
Happy early birthday! You are not the only person who pre-plans their planner, I've seen it from other RU-vidrs. I do as well, because sometimes I don't have my planner with me to set it up but need to remember things.
Thank you so much 🥰 ohh okay that’s interesting! And yes I think that’s what the Moleskine is at the moment, a place to jot things down so I don’t forget when I’m on the go
happy early birthday!!! i hope you have a great day and a lovely visit with your mom! this was such a lovely flip as always, thank you so much for sharing! 💛☺️
Have you ever analyzed the pros and cons of precutting PET tape? (I'm wishy washy about it... I recently used a Square of it that could have been cut apart, but I liked the arrangement. Which made me question cutting them apart. BUT BUT I LOVE how you use 3 or 5 bits...)
This is an interesting question! I think I prefer to cut it all apart because sometimes I spot combinations I wouldn’t have seen otherwise, and I also really like using teeny tiny pieces to add detail to spreads 😊 also, I really enjoy doing it haha!
Lovely video❤ I love your style, where did you buy your binder that holds your strips of PET tape? I’m on the look for something to store mine. Thank you 🤩💖
@@bronteswannick it's so kind of you to check. I've just treated myself to the midnight blue but I really liked the green shade you had. Hopefully I can find it!
I wanted so badly to love the cousin. I tried to use mine as an all in one planner but I’ve found that I need to keep my journal separate. Love how you use yours though x
I totally get that! I'm thinking of separating them back out again next year - I do really like it but I don't have a huge amount of space, and I miss adding in my ephemera bits and pieces along with my journalling!
