It was definitely separated so, I had to put in my Crock-Pot to save it. It turned into a very rustic-looking soap LOL, but it was usable. That fragrance oil is now reserved for melt and pour only 😁
Hi, they can crack for a few reasons, it could be that it just hit a really hard surface, it could also be that it was too moist when it was made as they crack to release the gas as they dry. Or it could be that they were not pressed together hard enough when they were made. On the bright side, none of these things should affect the bath bombs performance.
Hello Jennifer I’m returning the subscription and enjoyed this video. I love lotion bars. Especially the idea of smaller ones. Have a great week. ~Lauren
I only just found this video but had a question about the clay. What is it for exactly and will it cause any clogging in the tub or anything? Sorry! I am just starting at bath bombs and am curious! Never knew about the clay part before.
Hi Sasha, the clay makes the bath bomb harder as well as adding a silkier feeling to the bath water :-) . It is such a small amount that it dissolves and doesn't cause any problems with the drain.
Thanks for making this video...it was very helpful. You describe the process so well and I finally made some beautiful Bath Bombs. Now I want to give them away as gifts. I see that people shrink wrap their bombs....is this necessary? Does it serve a purpose? I would like to stay away from the plastic if possible.
Hi, I personally put mine in plastic but I think it depends more on how fast your turn over will be. The best way to find out what the shelf life for your bath bombs would be is to leave them out for different periods of time over 1 year maybe and test them periodically and see if they still fizz the way you want them to throughout the year. Also a lot of compostable plastic is made from cornstarch and you may be able to find a bag that will work for you without having to use regular plastic :-)
Sorry if this question is silly, but isn't citric acid Lye? If these bath bombs aren't cured like soap bars, how is it safe to use them with lye in its raw form?
It is definitely nothing to do with lye. Citric acid is used in foods as a flavouring and a preservative amongst other things. No one ever puts lye in bath bombs
You can add your ingredients in any order you like, I would just recommend that all your dry ingredients are together before whichever liquid you are using is added. I have forgotten the citric acid before and added it after I wet my mix and they just don't fizz as well as they should and it's disappointing.
Caden Fritzman , I tend to get most of mine in Canada from New directions Aromatics, and if I have friends are family traveling to or from the States I tend to get mainly from Nature's Garden or Wholesale Supplies Plus.
For me this was the best video I've seen yet. You made them fast, showed how to squeeze test better plus you left the recipe for others to try. Thank You for this. Going to try it today. Our business makes Soap but we thought we would take another step up and try something different for a change. 🌹👍🏻
Hello love your videos 😍 quick question can I use coco betaine instead of using slsa? Can you make a update on making bubble bars please thank you and happy new year 😄
I thought if you were reselling bath bombs you had to use batch certified dyes? These aren't intended for cosmetic use and can't be used when reselling bombs.
do you bath bombs keep there shape by setting them to dry like that ? mine bath bombs are all getting flat bottons the way i set them to dry i am not there how to get them to keep there shape hope to here back from you soon
This is a great idea! My molds are custom made and the maker rounds off the sides so I cannot lay the paper over the mold and get the outline. You just saved me a lot of hair pulling! Thank you.
Hello , great video. Can I use bees wax, shea, cocoa butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, almond oil and vitamin e oil only ?? How would I measure everything ??
Hi Jennifer! Thanks for the great videos! I was wandering what brand of BlackBerry Vanilla fragrance oil you used in this video. I bought some recently, but I'm not thrilled with the scent so I've been on the hunt ever since! Thanks :)
