Hello! If you are a fellow competitive Pokemon enthusiast then this is a great place for you! We upload all sorts of content from Draft League to Challenge Videos to just regualr Wi-Fi battles.
The best team I've ever had was in an usum league. Z Garchomp Mega gallade Weavile Cresselia Volcanion Araquanid Diancie Sandslash Jolteon Whimsicott Scarmory Z oricorio (all forms) This was a tier league where every coach was required to get 12 mons. If i could've i would've rather replaced sandslah and oricorio with a higher tier mon but every other member of the team pulled its weight. How would you rate this?
Thats a really strong gen 7 draft. Mega Gallade is the goat and gen 7 Weavile was a beast. Z Garchomp also seems like a straight up nuke! Solid 8/10 :)
Fun fact, if you want to use sylveon, just encounter an eevee below level 20 in that route and it’ll keep babydoll eyes. Then go to lumiose and give it a haircut…? Massage? Something. Or the little pokeamii thing and just bathe it.
My most broken draft was during the end of gen 7 the guy taking over a team that had KB Celesteela on it decided to drop them. Sheer Force Landorus-I Mega Gardevoir Z Kyurem Black Celesteela Rotom Wash Z Scolipede(you were allowed to be speed pass) Aerodactyl Marowak-Alola Vikeplume Cryogonal
Thanks for reviewing the team! Gen 7 starter trio did indeed go hard. Free tera boulder went 16-4 that league and was #1 on the lb. Over half my wins were just booster speed tera into an offensive type and sd and win lmaooooo
@@jricky8 Still doesn’t beat my tera Volcarona at 29-6, but the team as a whole wasn’t good enough for this video 🤣 That was season 1 of Owen’s league btw, we gotta stop this man from allowing such beasts
I don’t have twitter and I haven’t played in n a draft league myself but I did enjoy watching this video. I am hoping to catch the next stream and I cannot wait for this next League in August.
Chestnaught and delphox over typhlosionH is a bit weird, that added secondary stab and 2 immunities bridges the gap between reg typhlosion and del for me
The main reason to use leftovers is if you’re using a protect Pokémon especially with wish. But even without that, boots are so strong that they’re often better
This tierlist shows again that standard play and draft are not the same, because the utility and multiple options on Decidueye make it better than the breaking power and snowball potential of Serperior or the sun user Venusaur.
Serperior is really wild, because if it had minimally more coverage, it would be absolutely crazy good, but with the current lack of options... I don't think it gets low enough to be allowed to Tera in a low-tier Tera league.
I think it's a pretty solid list. Though I am a little curious to know why you wouldn't put Rillaboom or Cinderace in the S-tier spot. In my honest opinion, Cinderace is a bit more versatile, and provides more utility than Greninja in the sense that it covers the rolls of hazard clear, Gholdengo counter, and Libero (Protean) spam due to its mono typing. Cinderace has proven to be an invaluable member in singles comp due to its nice variety of high damage moves, like pyro ball, to pressure switches, along with the utility to swap hazards and setup to the opponent. Greninja can only rely on his revenge kill sweep setup in his battle bond, which is conditional to him getting the KO with his slightly lower base attack stats. A bit of a hot take from me, but while Greninja was the OP bee's knees in the older gens, his gen 9 incarnation is a bit lackluster in today's meta. Still really good, mind you, but a bit overblown due to his base form being overall weaker due to the nerfs to Protean and battle bond needing to be met for a one-time sweep commitment. I Don't disagree with the Greninja S-tier ranking on the basis that he has access to immense free power due to his ability, but I value free base kit utility over gimmick met conditions. In that sense, I'd also argue that Meowscarada is just a better new-age Greninja in some contexts. Meow has knock off, is very freaking fast, can pivot, has a very solid movepool to cover its weaknesses, and can setup hazards to cripple opponents. The cat can also be a sleeper special sweeper due to its insane special movepool that is usually preferred over its Protean variant. Greninja can also do this somewhat, but the big factor that really sets the cat apart is its access to knock off, a slight edge to grass types this gen due to new threats like great tusk, and a reliable always-crit move in its back pocket. Mind you, I'm very biased for Meowscarada since it's one of my favs, so take what I say with a grain of salt. With that being said, Rillaboom is straight up free power due to his grassy terrain, even with the Grassy Glide nerf. With a movepool that gives him multiple avenues to slot him in, good bulk, and the highest base atk stat of any starter, the Gorilla is sure to do some damage. Terrains alone is one of the strongest field buffs imaginable for comp, in singles and VGC. Again, not a bad list, but I feel some pokémon were a bit under examined for their full potential and Gren gets a little too much praise given his overall weak base compared to the new protean starters, and pedigree of its Gen 6-7's legacy. With all that being said, that's just my opinions. Have a good one fellas.
I appreciate your super in-detail comment. Lots of fair points, I am a huuuge Rilaboom lover but I dont know if it will ever be S tier due to simply missing out on a bit of coverage. Grass is not a strong type by any means so the lack of stone edge/cc/etc. hurt its offensive output a bit. Still a terrific pokemon that enables members. Cinderace is much less versatil than Gren or Meow seing as Cinderace basically runs offensive moves with boots and the ocasional Court Change set.
Great tier list, you guys talk about these being in tier by there point cost, would love a different version of the tier list where you talk about what point cost the mons should be
GOOD VIDEO!! Im just a bit confused...is this a doubles or singles tier list? I'm not familiar with draft league. I think in doubles venasaur was/is CONSIDERED top tier, so im guessing this is singles? I think you should clarify which format/rules you're rating the Pokémon by.
@@jake9107 its not clickbait at all, I actually justify why I dont think its the optimal item in a lot cases. Definitely still a very viable item Leftovers is, I just dont think its a slap on every defensive mon as it was in previous gens!
Quaquaval and and Swamp could be higher but its all personal opinion as well , also i love Meowscarada just be careful for that OHKO u turn on a mon with base 75 attack
Such a great video, thank you for the amazing content JRicky and Gentleman Thomas Loved watching this one 💯 got me wanting to join a draft league even tho i never tried one before, i only play rom hacks and showdown
empoleon, my favorite pokemon & i feel like it’s the most unique bulky water ever, i completely agree that it can do everything, but you can’t MAKE it do everything, such a goated mon
@@jricky8 yeah regular Samurott, granted I drafted my entire team around it getting killed and may or may not have spoonfed it kills because I wanted it to be ko leader, but those allegations have never been proven... Samurott went 14-1 in 8 games with 3 ko's in finals, the vid is up here somewhere lemme find the link 😂
Draft League is a format where an X amount of coahces come togehter to draft pokemon available in the game and try and create a team often between 9-11 pokemon. Then over a course of 8-9 weeks we battle each other where we see the opponents team before prepping and then try and counter prep each other The beauty of draft is you can pull off some crazy stuff since you aren't tied to a specific meta and only 1 mon of each species exists, so you won't face the same top tiers each week and lastly I should mention this list specifically is with singles in mind Hope that wasn't too wordy to understand 😅
What Thomas said. Its a counter team format based of sports. You draft pokemon, play other coaches every week and in the end one is crowned a winner! Would recommend playing in one, lots of fun!
Agree with most of these. I think it’s very important to not fall into the trap of having a good team “on paper”. How you build and play is exponentially more important. I disagree with the leftovers tip. I think lefties are still a great item to have, prevent you from getting 3hit KO’d and solid on bulky setup sweepers, to give you a bit more health back to live a hit later. The Weakness Policy tip is true, however I think it requires really solid prep and can put you in a really bad spot early on if it pops too early. Overall really solid tips, I think the first two are probably the most important.
Y’all cooked. Only changes I would make is Pert in Awesome and Gatr higher up in B. Gatr can be pretty cheap for a great breaker with essentially a 110 BP move. Swampert I think has the ability to do what Empoleon does but possibly a bit better with only one weakness. Stab EQ with no attack investment still hits hard as a truck when you need chip on something.
Really enjoyed this list lads, huge fan of the tier list theme and love how detailed you go in with the thoughts. I don't know if you'd take suggestions, but I'd love to see one on all the current hazard removal options in draft, It's not one I've seen anyone cover before
I cry every time I see a starter tier list because my baby boy, my first ever pokemon, always ends up in f tier. RIP my majestic flower dino, you deserve better
@@underthedice1231 I just googled it. Triage seems like the perfect ability for my tanky support friend and fairy typing is a great addition. Might try the game, thanks!
It sucks that most of the grass starters are mid to bad because grass is so essential to stop spore and powder moves. Yeah you can run safety goggles on them on, but that slot can also be needed for something else like choice scarf. I agree that protein makes a big difference because no one can truly prepare for your weaknesses. I’m looking forward to this draft in August. Thanks for making the video!
I feel like these people who aren’t actually playing draft are disagreeing with yall. Literally just from watching any recent leagues this list is pretty accurate. Have a great weekend Ricky!
Samurott got the biggest glow up in the series, if I ever join a draft league I will do everything I can to get Hisuian Samurott just so my opponents have to deal with Ceaseless Edge
