NIJ IIIA 9mm BFD less than 16mm, we did not do a BFD test on our Air vented helmet because both the pressing technology and construction have been used for a long time. I just don't see why this is even a thing. If someone wanted ear protection they would have went with an ach or ech. Your literally take a cut down ach, and recounting the ear protection via 2 screws on the side of the head. Would love to see how the rail would hold up if that plate actually took a round.
@@militech6763 This on the outside already seems to offer more coverage compared to the largest standard issue helmet, PASGT which has already been phased out. The current ACH helmet covers less area compared to this. This also seems to be lighter weight, yet weaker protection against bullets. The best advantage I can see this having is increased coverage against shrapnel blasts, which is much more common than bullet wounds to the head nowadays. You guys should do a shrapnel blast test on a dummy head and see how much the helmet can shield the wearer.

3 meters distance is a considerable close distance for rifle ballistic testing since the standard required is 15 meters. We believe it is a safe distance for them to consider to avoid fragment & shrapnel threats.
uhmwpe fabric was invented in cuba in the 1980s. they were "aquired" by a dutch company called Dyneema so that they could get around import restrictions. the cubans were very quick to move mfg to china. for a long period of time there was no uhmwpe made in the US. actually there to my knowledge still isnt, there is only assembly of the china made fabrics into plates which i believe doesnt count for things like the US contracts. thats why us infentry walk around with 30 year old technology and fragile sappi style plates. get with the times usa.... i think its ironic that anyone would say they wouldnt trust chinease uhmwpe since there is none such thing as non chinease uhmwpe lol. these people would rather have some mom n pops small time startup assemble the plates in their garrage with a heat press than to dare trust a line worker in a factory. okay.

Would be great, but the 1/2" foam filler at the top edge is a deal breaker. You can't get the plate high enough to cover the Aortic Arch above the heart. DRT if a bullet zips through that foam there.
As far as I know, As lang as the Plate already has 1 or 2 Hits, You cannot use that again since those shots damages the compact composition of the materials inside.
Yes, you are right and we do not recommend using the hit plate again. Multi-hit performance is for the purpose of when you are on the battlefield and do not have the availability to replace the hit plate with a new one so that you can carry that plate while it still offers some protection. Another possibility is if a double or triple tap was fired in a mid-range, the plate is capable to stop if the impacts were landed on that same plate with a small distance in between the impact area.
Have you guys considered releasing an XSAPI level plate (stopping high-velocity m993)? No doubt your level 4 plates are capable, even going slightly beyond NIJ 4, as demonstrated by BUFFMAN's video. However, the same thing can be said to pretty much every single level 4 plate on the market, so there isn't a big differentiating factor (even in price). Almost all level 4 plates that BUFFMAN tested were able to stop +p+ m2ap. It would be exciting to see a relatively affordable XSAPI level plate on the market.
@@militech6763 I wouldn't say mil-grade body armor on the civilian market is much of a concern. There are already XSAPI level plates on the civilian market, like the plate from Adept Armor, claiming to stop m993 at 3100fps, and only weighing 3kg with an edge-to-edge strike face. You can also find actual US issue ESAPI and XSAPI plates for sale on second-hand markets like eBay. I'm pretty sure you can find these plates even in China (on XianYu). In the end, you don't have to explicitly claim your plate is XSAPI rated. Just call it a standard level 4 plate but tested to threat beyond NIJ lvl4. The B4C plate you sent to Buffman almost stopped a 3000+fps M993, if you can make that plate then why not an XSAPI plate?
