We also talk about cancer! In June 2021, our dad (Tommy) was diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer (signet-ring cell carcinoma). Tommy passed away on September 2nd, 2022. Tommy was full of life and demonstrated the importance of having a positive attitude in unfortunate circumstances. Our dad set a true example of how to live life to the fullest. Tommy was a true legend and his legacy will continue on through his family, friends, and this channel. Forever and always, we love you, dad.
Can the Sunsun HW-5000 canister work without uv? Because the tools for this filter are not well available in my country. I want to buy this canister, but I am hesitant about it, and the reason is:I am afraid that the lifespan of the uv will end and I will not be able to operate the canister after that
Hello, by following your videos You have an error alert that appears on the screen and it symbolizes E 21 This symbol says The life of the ultraviolet lamp has reached 2000 hours of use I want to buy this filter. Is it a good filter if we compare it to the Fluval FX 6 filter I have a question if this signal appears with the symbol E 21 If I do not replace the UV, does the filter work without it or does it not work unless a new UV is added to it Because the filter items are not available in our country in a good way I hope you read my message today because I will buy the filter tomorrow
🤔 I will often use the dirty water in filters to water my houseplants. I will squeeze off the filter sponges into a bucket of water and use that to water plants as well. Then I’ll use a garden hose to to rinse out the filter and wash off the sponges. At one point I had all SunSun filter and they definitely work and I really prefer their setup over that of the Fluval filters butvthe SunSun filters are poorly manufactured. Do now all my canister filters are Fluvals. If Fluval made their filters with the larger and deeper baskets like the SunSun I would really prefer that. The larger sponges would be able to collect more wise. As far as media I don’t use it in the FX6 or FX4 filters. I filled each basket with different ppi sponges. All media is utilized in my trickle filters where it is more beneficial as well as in the Smaller Fluval filters. And I only use Biohome or drinking water quality pumice. Good luck with your aquarium hobby and RU-vid channel.
Try the Eheim 1500XL. This filter would do a better job than all of these filters. Zero bypass, no costly made for filter pads or special media required, you can fill it with whatever you want and Eheim filters are quality made in Germany. My 1500XL has been running for over 10 years with ZERO issues. Even the rubber O-ring is the original it came with. I just make sure to clean and lubricate it after every cleaning with good old fashion vaseline. Take that Fluval and I won't even mention the cheap, Chinese made imposter, FX6 wannabe. Nuf said!
I bought a bag of small lava rocks from Walmart. The rocks are really small not crushed. Can I boil them and put them in the tank or do I need to soak them like you did?
This filter is very, very excellent and has been working properly in fish tanks for more than a year. When you start installing the filter, you must apply Vaseline to all the dust in the filter. Check if your Hz is 50/60 As for UV, you must program it by pressing the down arrow button for 3 seconds so that the screen returns to zero... Then press the UV play button...
I’ve been scared to try any of the sunsuns because of all the controversy. I finally gathered my courage and bought a HW-3000 for one of my 75 gallon tanks and let me tell you, these things are so quiet! It’s exactly what I was looking for coming from the loud HOB filters That rattled constantly. And keep in mind I have all 12 of my aquariums in my bedroom, so it was driving me insane! The filter held 4 to 5 baskets of media and filtration pads and does a phenomenal job keeping my tank clean. I’ve haven’t ran into any problems with it yet. I think it’s a great filter and I plan to buy sunsuns for the rest of my tanks.
My sunsun 3000 ... purchased from "Finest-Filters" ... failed in service due to weak O-ring seal ... ruining cabinet and ceiling below, I am currently in dispute for refund. Avoid both seller and product!
Get the same , I don't understand how they do that... - when power of power supply, lamp reset self clock, but keep settings for on/of.... In this case he start to working every time from 12:00... That's very very disappointing me...
LOL! The guy shouldn't use the gloves. C'mon... It's called MEDIA. The boy is right. The Eheim is the best filter IMO, but their customer service for the US isn't the best. You would need a bigger Eheim, though. I watched this video to see what would be like to have a canister for my new 210gal. I definitely won't have canister after this. A sump will be so much easier to clean in the regular basis. Thank you so much for the video. Hope you both will get married and be happy forever.
Hi, I bought this filter 3 months ago, after 3 months my output was reduced considerably and the eater in the tank started to look shady. Hence I decided to clean the filter. After cleaning i started again but unfortunately, my UV light got burned which i have replaced but then the motor of the pump is behaving sluggish, Every time I change from feeding time to the working mode or when I switch it on the motor starts very slowly, and might not start at all and then it will gain speed. Also i noticed the output is also less Any help or advice for these issues?
Sometimes plumber putty works. You have to take apart the valves and apply it to the O-ring. This may fix the issue, but if the leak is bad enough you might need to replace the valve
I'm so sorry about your angelfish. I watched this video a while back because the same thing happened to my angelfish. I wanted to come back and comment because she finally recovered after spending a month at the bottom of the tank. I wanted to share what helped her in case it can help someone else. We moved her to a hospital tank away from the other fish and at first we tried some different medications, peas, all the popular internet remedies. Looking back, the medications were a mistake. What she needed were daily water changes. We tested the ammonia, ph and temperature of her hospital tank and the new water every day. We gave her 25% water changes every day. We put a heater in her tank as well as in the buckets we were using for new water and kept both at 82 degrees. We put a hang on back filter with a water softening pillow in the water change buckets and let it run for about 24 hours before doing a water change so the new water was already soft when it was being added. (we had two water change buckets going so we could start a new one when the other was ready to use) We kept the ph of the new water at around 7.0. We noticed the ph would lower overnight in her tank and didn't want to shock her with the higher ph of the new water so we would add it gradually after removing 25% of the old water from her tank. It was a lot of meticulous work and a lot of testing but it paid off. We used a liquid API testing kit (the one where you use test tubes and add drops of solution) so the tests for ph and ammonia would be more precise. We started seeing improvements once we got her ammonia to stay at 0ppm. Ultimately, it seems she was dealing with a water quality issue, not anything caused by a bacteria, fungus, etc. After doing some research, it seems that about 90% of angelfish buoyancy issues are caused from water quality issues, so I think it is the first thing to address for others struggling with this. I would wait to try any medications because an angelfish dealing with water quality issues may have stress on their kidney and gill function already. Adding more chemicals to the water can make it harder for them. Moving forward, we will be upgrading all the fish to larger, fully planted tanks and separating the angelfish and tetras from other species that could potentially bully them. This is a tangent, but I originally inherited the tank from someone who did no research on which species can live together or their care requirements I'm going to be making a lot of changes to get them all properly housed and on the right track. This has been very stressful but a good learning experience and hopefully the last time we go through this situation. Thank you for making the original video! I hope things have been going well for you and all your wet pets! <3
Thank you Mike! Life has been crazy to say the least. We are selling the house in the summer and my mom has moved to a retirement home. Unfortunately, I’m giving away all the tanks :( very sad about it but I don’t have a place where I can’t put them. I’ll be posting a video in the next month or so letting everyone know
Why do you need products to kill bacteria in rocks when you are boiling them ??? No bacteria on Earth survives 15 mins of 100C°... Ok, I checked and realise some can survive that - thermophilic bacteria - Sorry
Hello Julia and Andrew, glad your away and enjoying the time there in Newfoundland. Hope the weather brightens up for you. Thank you for taking us along. you Did a really amazing job on sharing with us. 💕NonnaGrace 🐓
