I took a class with Mariana in 1977, and Michael Maule the then-Ballet Master put her, of course, front row center, and then indicated for me to join her. Wow! what an honor. I was just 14 years old. On that day, Leslie Browne or Gelsey Kirkland (?), I can't remember, and Nureyev walked through the studio, I guess as a short cut from where they were rehearsing to the main lobby. It was crazy taking open classes in that old building with it's labyrinthian corridors full of cigarette smoke (awful, disgusting habit) and peppered with dancers from everywhere, their main school students, and the ABT company, including principals and guest artists from around the world. I wish Misha hadn't changed all that. It was the beginning of the end of the Golden Age of American Ballet, I think, and that part of the City.
En la melodía, la voz de mi paisano Luis Ángel Silva melón, no el mejor, sino que el único sonero mexicano que grabó con la fania. Grande por siempre, melón. Ya está haciendo bailar y gozar a los angeles en el cielo.
Utterly sublime 💜 I’m so inlove with this ballet all over again. I performed in it many moons ago and preparing to stage an adaptation for my students. Interesting footnote: just today I learned that Alexander Glazunov (one of my favorite composers) created the orchestration for the score by Chopin.
i’m so scared to do this cause of the skirt. panicking cause i’ve got my first rehearsal today when the skirt is actually there and i hope i’m able to actually get out from under the skirt and also manage to get back in.
Of course the late 'Fernando Bujones' is a handsome and extraordinary classical ballet dancer, too, absolutely and I love and admire him as well ❤️ ♥️ 💙 💖 💕 ! Fernando Bujones and Cynthia do Gregory complement each other wonderfully 💖 💕 ❤️. Thank you to @ Allegro-presto for sharing ❤ 😊.
Someone's said and it's true 'Coming to ballet so late, you miss so many great performances by great artists like 'Cynthia Gregory'! Well I'm seeing Gregory now 'on tape' and am happiest still, to know about Cynthia Gregory .. . The Prima Ballerina Assoluta who has everything ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕 💘 ! Thank you to @ C Gregory ❤ 😊 and to all the 'Paquita' gorgeous and amazing 'Corps de Ballet' members ❤ 😊. Of course thanks much to @ Allegro-presto for this lovely 'Paquita' video ❤ ❤ 😊.
Even though I do like the ending better when Marie/Clara returns to her parlor with her Nutcracker before the curtain goes down, I just love the finale music and and ensemble of dancers working hard together. I only wish it was revealed in this version that the Prince and the Nephew are one and the same. Anyway, I don’t care if it’s September. I felt like early holiday cheer.
La parte donde ella no puede saltar y lo disimula con otro paso es tan gracioso ,aun estaba en pasos de aprender si no fuera por patrick hubiese sido un desastre .
