The Locked on 76ers podcast is your daily podcast about the Philadelphia 76ers hosted by Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer & John Mitchell (Formerly of the Inquirer & More). Keith & John have been covering the Sixers for years on the beat and daily on the air and now bring all their knowledge daily. For daily news, stats, and analysis on the NBA, 76ers, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and more. Listen to Locked on 76ers part of the Locked on Podcast Network.
Listen, Joel is his own person and he can do what he wants in the off-season. He wanted to be part of something historic. Leave him be and move on. Clearly by dropping weight, hes showing his commitment to team and goal. Finally, how many minutes per game did he play? 10 or 12. thats nothing but he kept himself in shape, which he usually doesn't do and he got with championship players and felt what its like to play in that atmosphere. thats a win win. Mive on, u cant tell the dude what to do when hes not breaking his contract.
Show was better with John Mitchell. Felt more like Barbershop talk. This feels like regurgitated ESPN format. I don't like it no disrespect to the new host. But whoever the producer is doesn't know what they doing
My question is this really a matter of. Maintenance or is knee still injured? If he is trully healthy why wouldnt he be ready for the opener. If he misses the opener than there os something still wrong
I hope by having Andre Drummond, Joel Embiid avoid getting injured has durability and succeed in the playoffs. Sixers haven’t had a good back up center.
If you get the New York Knicks and the playoff series, you have to have Paul George guard Jaylen Bronson I can’t state that enough Caleb Martin neutralizes bridges Tyrese and Joel must go to work, but your ex factor will be Yabba. Regarding Boston, Caleb Martin and Paul George can deal with Jason Tatum and Jaylen BrownTyrese just has to match holiday. But I think he will exceeded him. Our bench must contribute on Dan will be a huge factor but so will Boner if he’s allowed to play he’s perfect against a Boston team perimeter defense.
With Joel it's not even a question of is he still in his prime, in the games he played last year he averaged 35 pts, But he is never healthy or at 100 percent for whatever reason it seems, when it counts the most. That is why the focus is on getting him to the playoff healthy and it seems like an organizational goal this year. Nothing else they did matters unless when the playoffs come you have him as close to 100 percent as he can be. His legacy is starting to become one of just potential and what could have been. He is starting to look like one of these hall of fame level players who never will win championships or have success in the post season.
McCain is maybe the better choice than Knecht is. Lowry and Reggie are old and with McCain you has a Backup Point Guard/Shooting Guard Roleplayer where has potential to be one of the best sixth man in the league. And if he ist to good for this role you can trade him for better fits
Drummond is going to help them 100% in the Regular season. In the playoffs he'll be unplayable against everyone (except the Knicks) because all he does is rebound and he can't hit free throws. I'd like to see the 76ers trade for Isiah Stewart or Kelly Olynik at the deadline.
He's not trolling... The numbers are there for him & his total rebounds would be a lot higher if the NBA didn't shift to a 3PT shooting league & away from dominant post big-men. If you put Drummond in those eras where post play was more pronounced & guys were smaller, there's a case his rebounds per minute would be even higher. All-Time Rebounds Per Minute Leaders 1. Bill Russell - 0.53 2. Wilt Chamberlain - 0.50 3. Andre Drummond - 0.45 4. Hassan Whiteside - 0.44 5. Walter Dukes - 0.42 6. Bob Pettit - 0.42 7. Dennis Rodman - 0.41
Andre Drummond is trolling, Joel Embiid is a bad social media influence. John Mitchell was very cool, but we love the upbeat energy Kayla brings. Perfect for the morning wake up and go
Somebody woke Keith up! I miss Mitch because he and Pompey had great chemistry. Sleepy, but good and they had their place among the Sixers RU-vid community. RTRS, Run It Back Philly, Romp, Philly Take all provide something different much like Keith and John with Locked On did. Kayla Santiago just seems generic. No offense to her, but I'm waiting for her to finish speaking so I can listen to an upbeat Pompey.
@@Chali_M Different format and more than one bullet point. Feels like Keith is getting interviewed rather than a discussion, so I hope it sounds more natural over time. It's a change, I'm a Sixers fan, so I'm here for the ride.
I don’t know how to feel.. Sixers get a good squad now this new person outta nowhere . Kieth basketball insight is already sketchy, this show might be done for . They probably replace Keith next .
Power in the NBA for a long time use to reside in the Western conference. Currently it seems a shift to the East especially in the Atlantic division. Celtics are reigning champs but the 76'er & Knicks have really bolstered their lineups. Paul Reed simply didn't have the talent to take on responsibly when Embiid was out of the lineup. Andre Drummond should help to fill that void better (76er's will still have a BB Paul, but last name will be George 😁, another very important addition to the team). Think a name missed in the development of Tyrese Maxey was Sam Cassell. A great player in his day & turned into an even better coach. Wasn't surprised that when he left the 76er's staff that he seemed to make a rather immediate impact with his new team on the Celtics. PS: With depth at the wing position for 76er's at the wing position hope McCain can get some G-league starting playing time to keep him in the game & well done by the new co-host Kayla Santiago at keeping Keith awake 😚 - best wishes..
@@edwardking7239 You do realize Keith is a professional writer at the Inquirer, right? And that this is a side hustle? Also, Keith is the information dispenser here. If they move off Keith, inside information will be non-existent here.
I think both of you are wrong Big fella might not care about all those other things he want to win a championship who don't want to that will put him on a map if he wins the championship he is focused on winning a championship this year so let's stop all the nonsense.
I miss John but I appreciate the energy. I didn’t know Keith could speak so fast. I would like Kayla to drop the commentator voice while they’re talking BUT it is spot on for the commercials and intros. Like I said … I appreciate the energy.
Your wifi is like your knicks take lagging Embid cooked the knicks last year and yall lost so what really changed OH KAT AND BRIGDE replace Hartenstein and devo
Breathe of fresh air with Kayla but she needs to drop the commentator voice. Sounds like I'm watching the news, it's a podcast, relax just a locker room conversation
I can honestly say that this is the first time that Embiid has Actually lost the weight he needed to loose. 25 lbs is a huge weight off of his knees. I think the Sixers look better this year then they did when we had Jimmy Butler.
Her being Hispanic is perfect. I can’t think one reason why it’d matter whether the co host was black white asian etc. worrying about the wrong thing smh
This young lady ❤ brings a much needed enthusiasm to this podcast as it should be renamed “Locked on Sixers on Steroids” with “low energy and always negative Keith Pompey”. Seems to me she’s almost dragging him, you can tell he looks uncomfortable not used to that type of progressive/upbeat rhythm!!😂😂
@@johnmitchell7654 She’s analytical, enthusiastic, documented and well prepared. In such a short time she has provided an objective evaluation of our team without falling in pessimistic and nonsense condemnation. That’s what I expect and I’m not alone as it shows in the scarce number of views it draws everyday!!
@@MIGUELMIRANDA-w7c what you misunderstand as “pessimistic and nonsense condemnation” is actual honest evaluation from reporters who actually cover the NBA. You obviously want sunny days and non reality with your coverage. And if you are paying attention, Keith is the only one doing any analysis here. She is hosting. Oh, and by the way, the viewership doubled from my time with Locked On and the prior host in the span of a year, so there's that. My sense is you are a tepid fan who needs little-to-no substance and is satisfied with your team routinely finishing the season in the second round. And looking at the viewers here, well, they remain "scarce."
@@johnmitchell7654 Certainly, and I’m not alone as it shows in the amount of views the podcast draws! Furthermore, over the past 2 years he had another co-host Devon Givens who left and currently has a very successful podcast which shows my point. Either you can’t take constructive criticism or are out of touch. Now as I read, you blame the people from Locked On for your departure which by all means speaks volumes about your professional integrity as they gave you an elegant opportunity to be relevant in the media again at your age. Not precisely a virtue as such conduct is known as ungratefulness!
