What a lovely song. It shows the skill of a songwriter. Having little more than that box and a story Kate has weaved a piece of musical magic. It's more than a skill. It's a gift. I've seen live videos of Kate before, but I think this is the only one where she is interacting with those around her. Just a small glimpse of who she was in life.

This is all kinds of Amazeballage! Imagine if Ry Cooder was your dad and in your band, and passing on the mantel...mantle? Mental!!

Fantastic pickers. His acoustic solo break in the middle is great but when he hands it off to McCallum on the stratocaster...wow...so smooth and perfect.

The cello player’s low key smiles are wonderful. And the black hair guitar player’s topping off the verses are so good. Great stuff.

Wonderful set! Paz is one of a kind! So sad and disappointed that Pixies let her go so abruptly and the way that they did. I love Pixies but think it was inappropriate and a big mistake on their part. I know Kim is iconic, and I love her, she is the original in her role in the band, but as far as pure technical ability, Paz is a classically-trained multi-instrumentalist and by far the most technically skilled of any bassist Pixies has ever had! And a terrific voice for their backup vocals and the few songs she would take lead on.

Sometimes I mention Chris to people and they have heard about him. They ask what kind of music does he play. I'm always stumped. I say sort of folky blues or bluesy folk but that does really cover. I tell them to just go and listen to him. The greatest thing about Chris's music is that he's just Chris.

Great story telling, Dylan used this musical structure in his "It's Not Dark, But It's getting there." Both of them are so good at this kind of thing. Kinky and Dylan would run into each other for a while. The stories are great. I had forgotten how touching he could be and what a literate song writer he was. Kinky was just great, right?
