I like anything mechanical or electrical, from lawn tractors, to old radios, to old cars. I pretty much like anything old fashioned too. Most of my videos are of the lawn tractors, as me and my friend Dave have quite big collection of them. Someone once called me a "displaced redneck" and I guess it's true, 'cause someday soon when I get a nice big piece of land out in the country I'm going to fill it with old cars, old radios and FARM tractors! For now though, I'll have to fit what I can in my little house and yard. Oh, and tractor land!
I had a 1987 LeSabre. My Aunt and uncle had a 1990 but there’s was gunmetal gray with matching interior. These cars have to be garage kept. Unfortunately, the sun ruins these cars. The dash in my car started to warp in the same place( by the defroster vents) that the plastic plate wouldn’t stay. That clear coat paint job also doesn’t like direct sunlight, and starts to look shitty like your car does. The headliner used this really lousy adhesive on the headliner panel that after several years( between 7-10+ years)starts to droop down on your head. Despise the flaws, I’d still like to get another one like these
Got into an accident bout a year ago. Bent the control arm and blew my struts. Fixed everything (axles also) but i kept hearing a weird grinding noise, ignored it and now a year 1/2 later started hearing this clunking/thudding noise. Took it to get inspected and mechanic showed my rear wheel bearing was loose and I never been so scared!
I both love and hate the casual 50' sexism in this video.. "....with a driver who promises to be as non technical as they come." With the heavy Implication that as a woman, there's no way she has any technical knowledge at all. Therefore making a good test subject.
I had a new 76 safari in that color. Big 455 that liked to stop at almost all gas stations. I would like to have one like again, and a few others from back then. Enjoy your ride.
I grew up in one of these, I was the kid (of many) that was in the third row facing backwards making faces at the cars behind us. Kids today will never experience that and that's a shame. Our was green with shades of the family truckster from Vacation now. Someone would spill milk and it'll smell bad for months, good times.
I like your creation. But, I really like the "Three Finger Joe" sound track. Especially while watching the hinge plate dance witht the jigsaw.. Just a thought but maybe you could adapt a cutoff disc to your bench grinder?
Portrayal: Typical Fleetwood driver looks like a caricature of George Bush Sr. and Barbara Bush. Supposedly making 60k but living a 250k lifestyle. Not .... Reality: typical Fleetwood driver looks like Jerry Florence, the marketing director on the film.
Had one of those in the family back in the day. An absolute land yacht to be sure! But man were they awesome! You could fit 9 people in it with all your stuff and room to spare! And talk about fun for the drive-in theater! I used to use the rear storage compartment as an ice chest! 😂..put a 1/4 barrel of Goebel in it once!
as a man I would rather have the manual gate...less stuff to go wrong. but i don't see a housewife of 1976 with fingernails managing that gate very well
My experience with my Toros have been 180 degrees from yours. The SR 4 is one of the best models ever made. I also have an older one with the Tecumseh engine. It was used for my back up ditch mower. Sat for 2 years, shot some starting fluid in it, started on the first pull. Cable problems??? Make sure they're adjusted properly, and keep them lubed. No need to wash the deck each time. I do not cut grass when it's wet, and just blow the deck off each time it's used. I use 4 different Toros. The only problem I have had is one personal pace one I have at my lodge. The deck rotted out where the battery box is. My fault completely. It's about 20 years old, I DIDN'T clean the underside of the deck and eventually the wet grass did it in. The engine (Briggs) still runs great, I did take care of the engine. Want to hear some horror stories??? Talk to the Honda guys after their transmissions give up the ghost. Then it truly becomes a push mower!!!
Great video guys, my Hydro transmission is still great, but the tractor is falling apart, I got me a $100 same model tractor 6 speed that’s in better shape, but I hate the six speed so after watching your video I’m gonna do the same thing and swap transmissions 👍👍👍
Guys I Appreciate The Video I'm Rebuilding a 5 Speed Foots Transaxle an Needed To See How The Gears Meshed Since mine Fell off on Tare Down . I had a Halfmoon Key to Sheer and it Stopped my Mower Dead in it's Tracks not Even Reverse they Put Too Small a Key in The Little Gear That Meshes To The Bullgear from the Factory ! One Mistake I Seen Yall Possibly Made is When Yall went to The 6 Speed Setup I Think Yall Might of Put it Back Together With The 5 Speed Shift Rod an Detent , if So it will Still Shift But Somewhere in The Shifting You Will Not Have a Detent For One or More of The Gears Anyway Thanks Again For You Men Taking Time To Make The Video it Was Very Helpful ! Oh an For The Worn Pinion an Ring Gear , That Ring Gear Has So Much linear Load on it That it Wears The Splines on The Shaft an Also The Splines inside The Ring Gear an What Happens is It Eventually gets So Worn That The Gears Bearly Mesh and it Strips Both Just Exactly Like What You Have There ! I Beveled The Inside of My Good Ring Gear an Tig Welded it To The Shaft To Stop That Crap From Happening , We Shall See how that Works Out I Also Tigged The Small Gear To The Shaft That Pulls The Big Bull Gear after installing a new Halfmoon Key ! 🇺🇸😉👍🏻
What ever happened to this car? You could probably just put another rod bearing in from the bottom. Use green loctite glue if it machined out too much metal and it keeps spinning in the rod.
Linoleum, can you go into troubleshooting a Craftsman 12.5 HP LT4000. Focus on electrical and fuse location and how to trouble shoot if won’t start with new battery.
