Wells’ speech is so funny in hindsight, knowing that he knows what’s going to happen. It “will change our understanding of physics” because people will get physically-impossible superpowers. “Bring about advancements in power” is a pun, because people will get literal powers. “Faster than you think” is a very dumb pun, and hilarious once you realize he knows and worked that line in there as a joke that only he understands. “The only phenomenon that will occur this evening is one that has been calculated to the tiniest detail, to the tiniest decimal point.” is true, but it’s a phenomenon he calculated privately, not the one everyone is expecting. “So you’ve foreseen every possible outcome?” “Yes I have.” Yes, he really has. He’s so dramatic.
Imagine hating a man so much, but that you need him, that you cause something like this. Just... rewriting the timestream for your own goals. And in doing so, start a domino effect where the impossible becomes an everyday thing. Thawne created this universe, but Barry and Oliver defined it.
I just noticed that when Eobard see's Clifford Devoe he realizes he's here to become the thinker because he already knows who he is, that's why when he says "good luck" it directed towards Devoe not the crowd. I also like how he says he's a big fan even though Devoe is just a university professor during this time not some great genius
7:46 "You really hate him don't you" No, Barry doesn't hate Thawne. Thawne hates Barry. There are very few that Barry truly hates. If someone can be redeemed, even if they've done some of the worst things imaginable, then Barry doesn't hate them.
"How do I look?" "Like a Hero" "How do you Feel?" "Enlightened" The pacing of both episodes lining up to create such a stark contrast of characters and shows is honestly amazing. 12:55
