The Townhouse Garage channel was created for the purpose of creating an inviting workspace to work on and enjoy my hobbies, traveling in our Winnebago Micro Minnie Winnie as well as other wood & metal DIY projects out of my 21’ x 24' Garage / Shop / Mancave.
Great video - just doing the repair now - its been leaking for years - your video got me motivated to fix it - I used a grinder and sawzall to cut between the large hole and the small hole over the gear shaft to get enough room for the snap ring pliers - the o-ring part barcode number is 1 CH17653 the other numbers on the pack are 20211117DY2 and 2709 JOHN DEERE its only a couple of bucks for one pack - I have 3 packs.
My travel trailer is 53 years old with the original dometic ac/propane fridge/freezer in it. On the lowest setting it still ices right up in 90 degree weather just like it was new!
I dont suppose you have a parts list for this complete project? Ive looked at lift companies and watched every video i could find, this is exactly what will work in my garage. Very nice job.
I've got a 2001 RAM 1500 4X4 SLT 5.2 LITER V8. 11-1/2" lift, 37 x 14.50 r15 tires.rear differential noise. Replace braking system, outer axle bearings and se a ls, still noise. Attempted to replace outer pinion bearing and seal, which is the main thing that goes bad causing the differential noise, only to find the bearing had sort-of welded itself to the pinion shaft spindle. Typically, these bearings are easy to replace, however, if they get stuck (self welded/seized) on the pinion shaft, the only way to remove them is remove the pinion from the differential. Typically you'd remove the gears and carrier bearings, put nut back on pinion shaft threads, hit nut/shaft end with a hammer, driving the pinion into the differential housing and dislodge the outer bearing simultaneously. (At this point, you're rebuilding the differential. (Long winded, but better explanation as i just went through this).
Apparently mine is too old for that. Dang. You can also reset boards by grounding the positive and negative pins on the fridge male plug to the ground on male plug. I did that and it exercised the gas part but also reset the element switch and thermostat still waiting for the tell tale clicking showing that the pump is working.
Just some friendly advice for everyone out there never refer to front left or front right always say front passenger front drivers that way it doesn’t matter what your orientation is on the vehicle you know where we’re talking about
So the most difficult thing to do, retaining ring on passenger side you chose not to show, give advice or anything? It’s like a DIY as follows: to replace the CV joint and axel simply remove and replace, thanks for watching. This alone will prevent me from watching any more of your videos. Not hating, I appreciate what you do and was a great video up until that point. You can’t simply ignore the most arduous task like that and be helpful to us.
I find this job is a lot easier if you don't remove the tie rod ends or lower ball joint. Simply loosening the top strut bolts, removing the wheel, strut mount bolts, 10mm ABS sensor wire mount bolt, brake line bolt, caliper at the mounts, rotor, and the plastic under tray is all that is required. The large snap ring can be removed using hose pliers from underneath and the bearing on the pass side slammed out with a crow bar and 4 lb hammer (minutes of whacking). The original axle nuts are 12 pt 30mm, but one of mine was a 6 point 32mm, so you'll never know what you find.
got the same misfire, codes P0300 (301 and 303) and P0420. swapped good injectors, coils, and sparks for new ones (kind of wasted money but well... its new now) Checked the cat: its fkd will try to solve the cat issue and see if everything runs fine again
Hi There, we are waiting to see how the celica works after changing the catalytic converter. did it work? did you get another P0420 code? How does it sound? Is there more power? This is a very popular video. Please Please give us some feed back. Thanks for making this video.
08 dakota mine does it too.. changed gear lube put some stp oil treatment in it or lucas i like stp.... It is just what it is... Somebody asks me what the noise is i just tell them its the turbo kicking in...
I've paused the video at 1:03 when you say " here's the resinater" if I spelt that correctly..and I've noticed it's bent at the beginning..isn't it supposed to be a straight pipe at that point?
Thank you so much for this tip. I had heard about a reset button but it must be like a secret that has to be kept in a vault. No one would say or show where it was. I pushed mine and the fridge started right up.
The bearings that we’re supposed to fall out are ear shaped a bit mine fell out by mistake trying to figure out if they are necessary now that yours didn’t
Own a 98 dodge ram with the same rear end, and I was doing the wheel bearings in the back, pulled the axles, pulled the silver cylinder and rotated in a bit which I was not supposed to do, and the spider gears have fell, and when trying to line it up, those shims in the back of the axle gears fell out as well, and I have no experience with this at all I got the bearings and fine now I got another messa to deal with
