Great work, I always enjoy watching your builds. I like the italeri jeep, ever ready for action in any situation, my only complaint is that some of the rim for the tires has some deformity. Did you have the same situation with your kit?
Hi Rob. Your little vignette with the shelter for the first aid of the wounded soldiers, together with the ambulance jeep in the foreground, is great. Beautiful work that shines through the well-placed details. Perfect! Have a great weekend, Rob. Greetings, Joachim
@@SueBobChicVid Well, medics are different to ordinary soldiers,, after all.. So I like to imagine some German medics volunteered. And as we don't know the nationality of the casualties in general, some could well be German, as well as allied..
While i realise its a re box of a 1980s set i still find it ironic that East Germany no longer exists (even when it did it was not officially recognised by the west) and both Poland and Hungary have since gone on to become members of N.A.T.O.
@@jaws848 Well, it's progress,, I think. The Poles and the East Germans kept us busy when I was in the Swedish Air Force. Now the Czech Air Force,, another Warzaw Pact member, fly Swedish fighter jets!
Bought one today in an antique shop for £9 (22/08/24), looks like the 1971 bagged edition of the kit. All parts present and correct, but the decals are definitely time-expired - aftermarket ordered!
Excelent job máster! I have two models, heller and special hobby and a wok work with moose decals, wich colors did you use for the cammo? As a reference I will use módel máster colors Thanks
@@El_Mance Thank you, unfortunately I can't remember the exact paint shades or numbers that I used, but I know it was Humbrol enamel. Possibly 29 Dark Earth, 116 US Dark Green, 117 US light green and 33 black..
With that bulky nose, it seems as if a person stung the mosquito in there 😁 But now more seriously, beautiful model. The invasion stripes suit her so well (as they do any aircraft in general). And also, nice images on the three aircraft "in bands" at the end.👍
@@Alantheleopard Thank you.. The bulky nose is the radar, for the night fighting. I enjoyed the build, even though the decals played me up. But now I finally have some D-day aircraft in my collection.
Hat off, Rob. Very nice result even you chose the British variant instead of the three crowns. In every case great work which was the the effort you've put in worthwhile. Best wishes, Joachim
Hi Joachim, I have already built the Swedish version a few years ago.. but I wanted to this one as well and it was perfect for the D-Day Group Build I'm running for another couple of weeks.
Wait wait wait...! The Swedes operated the Mosquito and yet you decided to build a British one?! How dare you!?!! I assume you have probably built a few with the three crowns markings already, so i guess i can tolerate this for the time being :)
Hello there, long time no see.. :) And yes, you are right, I did the Swedish version years ago. This one is for a D-Day Group Build, which I forgot to mention in the video. I like these old Airfix Mosquitoes, basic and simple but great fun to build.. :) My next project is the Italeri 1/35 Ambulance Jeep, with added figures from Gecko Models and ICM, plus a resin US Medic.. Odd mix, but hopefully it will work. :) Will catch up on your show video later today or tomorrow.
Hi Rob cracking job you have made of this mosquito I have a tamiya mosquito in 1.48 in my stash hope it looks as good as yours when I build it anyway mate stay safe and happy modelling everyone 👍 😁😁
Thank you... I like these oldAirfix Mosquitos from years back, I have more kits to build, but now at least I have done the Swedish nightfighter version and this RAF one.. :) Not quite sure where I have the other kits, to be honest.. :)
Thanks... I do actually have the really old Airfix kit somewhere, I was going to build it but have decided against it, as it is so bad it is even below what I find acceptable and I'm not generally fussy when it comes to kits.. :)
Academy do very nice models but the decals sometimes let them down, being too stiff and thick to go into panel lines or even around curves sometimes! The decal sheet out of the poor Revell kit is very nice, so large it has to be wrapped around the kit inside. Many versions!
A cool little diorama with the Autoblinda as the eyecatcher. You did a great job with the street pavement, Rob. Very nice arrangement with the ruin parts in the background. A autoblinda in the captured version with some good figures in the black uniform of the tank soldiers. Good job! Have a nice weekend, Rob. Greetings, Joachim
Thank you, Joachim.... I was worried this video was invisible, as it hasn't had many views and no comments until yours. :) Guess most people are watching the olympics.. :)
Hello Rob yet again you have nailed it love the paint job on the armoured car. And the diarama is ace keep the vids coming all the best mate and happy modeling everyone 😁🍺
I'm wanting to start on dioramas. I have a good bit of scrap wood and Styrofoam. I've also begun to consider a hot wire knife. On my last foam project, I used a drywall knife and it made quite the mess.
Great Job as usually 👍👍👍 nice tribute to the scottish mens who fought for our freedom during the normandy 's opération. Are ICM's paints nice to apply ? Greetings
Merci.. :) I found the paint was a bit thick to handbrush, but I dpped the brush in water and that little bit of water thinned the paint enough to make it better. But bigger areas like the uniform needed more than one coat of paint.. :)
This is another great build! I like kits you built and the diorama you built. Adding historical photos and Scottish Bagpipe music adds a nice touch to the video. Great job!!!
Hi Rob. Successful job with a great result! A good scene with this interesting vehicle. Very nice paintwork in this three tone camouflage pattern. Best wishes and a nice weekend, Joachim
Thank you. I enjoyed building this and have since got two more kits of this vehicle in 1/72.which I hope to build as a winter diorama at some point. Still waiting for one kit to arrive together with some figures.. :)
Beautiful! Sorry to hear about the copyrighted material. Google clamping down on these things lately. I guess they, themselves, are being pressured by law officials.
Yes, it's a bit of a bother.. but it was easily sorted. If I had had more time, I would have done the historical part differently. I am more careful now.. :)
I skipped all the internal bits, so it was a fairly straight forward build, even though the suspension was fiddly and a bit flimsy. But I made sure I left the glue to cure properly, I find Tamiya glues are very good.. :)
Convincing result with your Hawker Tempest, Rob. The paintwork with the stripes functioned very nice. In the end you've done a great model with which you can be very satisfied! Best wishes, Joachim
Thank you Joachim... :) It's a nice kit, should you ever fancy making an aircraft.. :) Having seen Michael 'Barkas' video, I am concerned about the future on RU-vid. I have been here for many years and it is gradually getting worse.. but I will soldier on for a bit longer and see what happens.. :)
