Hey everyone! I'm Xoonani an artist from Flensburg, Germany. Welcome to my channel! There are so many things which inspire me all the time, so I have to be creative as much as I can. So I thought it would be a good idea to start a RU-vid channel... to hopefully inspire other people doing creative stuff, or just watching and enjoying me doing creative stuff.. :D This makes me really happy.

Great video! I love how the pic came out and thank you for the info on the granulating paints. Will definitely keep that in mind before purchasing the tubes 😮
@@xoonaniart it makes sense that those are the paints that would have issues, so I’m guessing that even if some people get lucky and don’t have that problem, most of them probably do :(
Rembrandt paints are so lovely but I did have few problems with the dusk colors as well, weird enough I didn't have any problems with their student line paint, van gogh and their dusk colors😅
@@xoonaniart yeah I had the dusk pink but it was just brown 😅 it didn't granulate at all and no pink showed up, I tried mixing the paint in the tubes but it didn't change anything 💔
I bought them a few weeks ago.. I don’t know if it is still possible to replace them. Perhaps Talens should know about their paints but I don’t know if they care..
Oh no, it's such a bummer those dusk colors were like that! I've seen some other artists struggle with the same thing with these colors but I haven't yet experienced it myself. Fingers crossed. I would go back to the company and let them know - it's really not okay. Love your artwork, as usual.

It's interesting that you only chose the baohong hot pressed paper as I much prefer the cold pressed. I painted on each and it works a little differently but you may like it too ❤
Liners/ black markers.. Microns for ecxample, and also fineliners / Feltmarkers work very good on this paper. I used a black marker in this video for the circle but I think I cut it out for any reason…. And I just tested different brands of liners, pigment liners, etc…. All work perfect on the marker pad. 💪 I hope this is helping 🌼
@@xoonaniart Just got mine. Got the sketchbook... Turns out the Staedtler fineliners do pill the paper but its not as bad as the canson with the big chunks....

Vielen dank für das informative Video. Spannend! Für mich würde die Entscheidung auf das Mixed media Pad fallen, da kommt dann halt einfach auf der Rückseite ein Acryl oder Gouache Bild, wenns durchblutet. Wobei ich begeistert bin wie sich die Aquamarker auf dem Bleedproof Paper verhalten. Vielen Dank für deine Eindrücke und die beiden süßen Artworks 😍❤
Heute kam das neue Marker Pad endlich an und ich bin bis jetzt super zufrieden damit. Funktioniert wunderbar mit meinen Chotune Markern (Brush Marker von A-zon). Das 48er Marker Set von Ohuhu hab ich mir auch dazu bestellt, zum testen. Und ich muss sagen, dass ich die Marker echt enttäuschend fand. Nicht in ihrer grundsätzlichen Performance, sondern dem eher schlechten Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Die Brushspitze ist extrem hart und unflexibel. Dadurch lassen sich keine größeren Flächen ausmalen oder gar schöne Übergänge erstellen. Meine Chotune Marker haben ebenfalls eine doppelseitige Brushspitze. Diese ist aber deutlich flexibler und kratzt nicht so übers Papier. Und die Marker sind nur halb so teuer, wie die Ohuhus. Das 168er Set kostet €50. Die Minen sind genauso groß und üppig gefüllt, wie die von Ohuhu. Für den Preis, den ich für Ohuhu Marker zahlen muss, hätte ich echt mehr Qualität erwartet. Die Marker gehen daher wieder zurück an den Absender und ich erfreue mich weiter an meinen Chotune. Kann den ganzen Hype um die Ohuhu's echt nicht nachvollziehen. :/ Aber das Papier ist definitiv nice.
Ah wie gut, dass du so viel Freude an dem Papier hast! Einige schreiben hier in den Kommentaren es könnte dem Rendr Papier ähneln. Kennst du das? Ich mag die Ohuhu Marker, hab aber wenige Vergleichswerte. Ich fand die Ohuhu eigentlich immer recht günstig im Vergleich zu den Copics zum Beispiel. Und da sie jetzt auch nachfüll Optionen haben und Wechselspitzen ist das auch ein nachhaltiges Produkt.. Was das feeling von den Spitzen betrifft find ich die Ok. Ich mags dass sie nicht zu doll stinken. ( finde die Copics stinken mehr.. bin da empfindlich) Liebe Grüße ☺️
@@xoonaniart Hab das Rendr Papier nie ausprobiert, da es mir zu teuer ist und ich überwiegend mit Wasserfarben arbeite (Aquarelle, Gouache). Daher wollte ich nicht soviel Geld für Marker Papier ausgeben. Die Funktionsweise ist jedenfalls gleich. Würd mich aber nicht wundern, wenn das Rendr doch nochmal nen Ticken besser ist. Sonst wüsst ich nicht, wie der hohe Preis zustande kommt. Zur Nachhaltigkeit der Ohuhus: naja, die haben bisher immernoch nur für 51 Farben Nachfülltinten. 51 von insgesamt über 400. Ist mir persönlich zu wenig, um es als Nachhaltig zu bezeichnen, da man für alle anderen Farben dann doch wieder nen neuen Stift kaufen muss. Hab aber auch gehört, dass die Farben bei den Ohuhus sehr inkonsistent sind. Sprich, dass eine Farbe in einem Set leicht von der gleichen Farbe in nem anderen Set abweicht. Selbiges angeblich bei den Nachfülltinten. 🤷 Da man aber für alle chinesischen Marker die Nachfüller von Shinhan, Stylefile und Copic nutzen kann, sind diese ebenso nachhaltig, wie die teuren Markenstifte. Ist überhaupt kein Problem. Ich füll meine Chotune mit der Shinhan Tinte nach. Die haben ja alle das gleiche Farbsystem. Ohuhu leider nicht. Da ist das schwieriger.

Very interesting, I didn’t know they released this new marker pad! What a great and thorough review. The paper reminds me of the Rendr paper. It’s also completely bleed proof for alcohol markers but they don’t blend well on it, so I wasn’t a fan unfortunately
I have never used the Rendr paper before, but now Im rly curious… Also Miranda thought about if the Rendr paper could be the same.. perhaps I should test it out but I dont want to buy it 😅😆
@@xoonaniart 😂 just trying to save you money since they’re probably the same thing and I didn’t love Rendr. But I’m the last person to talk, I always want to try everything too!
This was so useful and informative! Thank you again for a great video!💗💗 It was so interesting to see how the different media performed on both papers. I only have the Ohuhu mixed media sketchbook at home, but the other one would be worth considering.
The blender is not really a blender, but an eraser, in case you go over the line. There is a coating on the bleedproof paper, thus the grey colour. It takes longer for the marker to dry. All this is written on the instructions. Both drawings turned out pretty. Keep creating 💜💛💙
Thank you ☺️ Ok Im not the instruction reader 😝 But also with the eraser. It is impossible to erase on this paper. .. I think. But as I said .. there are pros and cons.. the question is, what are the priorities for us working in a sketchbook. 🙂
@@xoonaniart priority 1. Do not erase , be confident lol (just kidding). I just look for a sketchbook where I can use both sides of the sketchbook because most are not cheap and neither are the markers.
@@Oozaru85 klar kann man radieren.. es ging um den Nr 0 Marker, der wohl kein Blender sondern ein “Radierer” sein soll.. Ich hab echt keine Ahnung… Der funktioniert allerdings nicht wirklich auf dem Papier.. Auf jeden Fall viel Spaß damit. Es ist schon gut das Sketchpad.
Hi Miranda, although they are similar, I like the Ohuhu better. Layering on the Rendr leaves a shiny film, whereas you can layer on the Ohuhu without it happening after many layers. 💜💛💙
@@mzebony Was curious about that, too. Always wanted to try the Rendr paper, but the price was putting me off. So I ordered this one from Ohuhu today. Some marker artists claim the Xpress It Blending Card paper is the best paper for markers. That one's even more expensive tho, so not an option for me, lol.
I keep trying with alcohol markers but I am not a fan. The bleed and the blender frustrate me as well as that initial darkening of the paper. Having said that I have done a few great drawings
Yes I also feel what you are saying. I’m also still trying to get warm with this medium. But I can imagine what others like on alcohol markers. It is a kind of fast medium. You get down a lot of color in a short time and an easy way.. 🤔 I think I could rly like it someday if I’m used to it.
I love how whimsical your art is. It reminds me of books I read as a child. I hated the Art Creations sketchbooks when I first tried them because the paper is so smooth and I LOVE tooth in my paper, but they’re growing on me! I bought a big one the first time and recently got a medium sized one and the small square one for travel.
The tips will be slightly colored from the other color. But if you are continue, then they are quickly clean again. You can also use another piece of paper to clean your tips.
Die Farben sehen echt nicht schlecht aus, aber am meisten freut es mich, dass du durch den Prozess wieder Inspiration sammeln konntest😍 und dich das wieder weiter bringt. Ein sehr schönes Bild ist das geworden. Danke fürs mitnehmen, liebe Grüße ❤

Ah, the pigment information. I find it's an interesting aspect of painting... but a bit overwhelming most the time. I duve into it when I'm about to make a purchase or I'm trying something new... and I usually try new things out when I'm stumped or bored or at a dead-end. (dead- end is an expression meaning the end of the road).❤ Sometimes it's a new product, but sometimes it's a new technique or style... sometimes both. ❤ Getting a new product can Inspire and put the spark back in your joy of creativity.
