Well hello there! Thanks for dropping in on Tea with Jann, welcome! This is a place for anyone to feel comfortable pondering tea of all kinds, as well as teaware, both new and vintage or antique pieces like teacups and saucers, teapots, afternoon tea ware, or even square plates (I have a thing). I love to chat about my antique Aynsley teacups while we have a cup of tea together.

I hope there will be a vlogmass this year! But somehow I'm having trouble deciding on a calendar this year.... To be honest, I was a bit disappointed with last year's from Bird&Blend (the teas seemed weathered and had little flavour).... And this year I'm considering Kusmi, but they haven't announced it yet....
I had a collection of tea cups for a looking time, but decided to sell them.. I sold 10 sets and a 4 cup rack for the wall, all for $80.. I was please with the sale.. I knrw about how much they were worth.. a few were about $18-$20.. Oddly enough, about 2 years later I happened upon more tea cups for sale.. one was worth $ 125, I bought the set for $3.. I still have it and about 20 more sets, most worth about $25- $45.. I have no idea if I can sell them.. so many people seem to be buying them these days..
This years design is so pretty! it made me think of Fortnum and Mason (I think its the blue and gold) but it has such a cosy, quintessential and nostalgic Christmas vibe to it overall. I bet it smells incredible, something about the smells of Christmas is just so heart-warming
The design is so cute this year! I hope you get to do vlogmas, but I totally understand if you decide against it or change it up and don't do a video every single day.
The packaging is beautiful, but the price is just too steep for me. I'd need 25-30% off. I hope they do some good sales this fall. Sigh, I want to support DavidsTea to keep making the advents, but just can't do it at that price point.
I get that, it's definitely a jump from last year. And we need to do what's best for our own households for sure. Hopefully they will have a discount (maybe Black Friday) 🤞 If not, I'm sure there's an advent out there that would be perfect for you (or make your own, or have a friend make you one and you two swap) :D that would be fun!
I hope you're able to do Vlogmas! I don't think I'll be getting a tea advent this year & will just make my own because I have so much tea, so it will be nice to live vicariously through you :)
Thank you so much for the vote for vlogmas! fingers crossed! I love when people make their own advents, you're sure to get tea that you love every day (unless you want to stretch those tastebuds and add in some not so favs to see if they've changed) ;)
Great review! I appreciate how organized you are to have this out early! I always love getting a sneak peek into different calendars and hearing what tea enthusiasts think. It’s clear a lot of thought and effort goes into creating any advent calendar, and your review shows a deep understanding of its value. I also enjoy seeing the trends-advent calendars have really taken off recently, so it’s interesting to see what’s changed and what remains consistent! If votes count, I vote yes to Vlogmas!
awwww thank you so much Sarah! I really appreciate your incredibly kind comment. There's just so much to enjoy about about an advent calendar. And I love that they are popular (for adults now) :D it feels like you can find an advent calendar for whatever your hobby/likes are, which is so wonderful. Making the days a bit more magical is for everyone, not just kids ;) and I love that the tea calendars have so many choices (price points, styles, types, etc). something for everyone! It makes me so happy. And your vote always counts! Vlogmas is always so sweet for me. Fingers crossed we can make it happen for 2024. Massive thanks to you!!!! :D hugs!
You nailed it - four new teas in the advent this year! Noggy & Nice is also exclusive to the advent - it's meant to be like a buttered rum spiked eggnog. Creamy and just a bit boozy.
Omg!!! Yay! Thanks for confirming Kelly, I was wondering. I’m super excited to try them. Interesting about Noggy & Nice! Should we taste it iced or hot or both 🤩👏🩵
Thank you so much for shouting us out! We really appreciate it and we are so happy you found another unique turquoise teacup to add to your collection!
I subscribed around March-April of 2024 and every time I watch your videos I get a sense of joy because you put so much energy into your videos. Keep up the good work!
awww thanks so much! yes! the vintage menu's are actually Jeanette's, they are still on our kitchen wall. Her collection is larger than what's on the wall though. Maybe someday I'll share it with everyone and we can see how much tea things we spot :D
awww thanks so much Naz! I'm hoping to get things a bit more sorted out (but even if I can't) I plan to share via newsletter - eeek! thanks for always cheering me on! 🩵
Thanks so much Jan! I've been using a chemex for a while, and wanted to branch out. I'd love to see you use some scales for each brew to make sure you're using the same quantity of water. Many thanks! - A weird coffee person
ahhhh a weird coffee person and a weird tea person - we'd make great friends! haha :) thanks so much for stopping by. Good suggestion on the scales - thanks so much. I do use them sometimes ;)
What's fascinating is that café brûlot is a 16th century tradition began in the Charentes region of France, where Cognac is made. It was a practical way to warm up yesterday's coffee, which wouldn't have been poured out given its cost and rarity. There are some great videos that demonstrate the traditional café brûlot charentais method that was imported by the French to New Orleans and has since been adapted.
Thanks so much for dropping by and leaving some additional information - very kind of you :) It's always so fascinating that there is so much to explore in the world of beverages :D
yay! it's so fun to try new teas and beverages. I'm slowly getting back into things. Hoping to share a bit more via an upcoming newsletter :) Hope you are doing well. Hugs
So glad to see you back! you're videos are always my favourites to watch because they often just feel like being on facetime with a friend. This feels like such a clever way to make cold brewed iced tea much accessible for a wider audience and a great way to fill in for the experiences people used to be able to have in store.
awww Kimberley thank you so much - this means the world to me. :) I really feel like I'm enjoy virtual tea with friends too. And yes - so nice to make things easier for those that need or want it :D
Very interesting products! Ito En used to make “Sencha Shots”, which i loooooooved. Just iced sencha, which is all I ever want in an iced tea. They expanded to iced oolong, and iced mate, then they disappeared for years I think due to low consumer demand over sweetened RTD teas. EDIT:I just looked them up and I see they are making the sencha shots again! Only USA i think, but I recommend!
oooooh Sarah you are so wonderful - thanks for sharing that. I think I need to have a nice iced tea (plain) this weekend :) I'll toast to you ;) massive hugs!
Great to see you Jann! These bubbly teas sound so fun. I loved your reviews of all the teas. I think the queen of tarts sounds really good. It’s been a while since I ordered from Davidstea, I’m definitely going to check them out. 🎉
Awwwww you’re so kind to say that! I attempted an affiliate link from DT years ago but sadly was turned down. But your comment made me smile, and that’s the best. Thank you! 🥰🩵👏
Thank you so much! It was really fun and I of course still stumble over words and forget what we’re doing. 😂 It was so nice to create a video though! I’m excited for more 🩵🫧🎉
@@TeawithJann My main stop will be a David’s Tea shop! And a grocery store for Kinder Eggs. 🤭 I’ve a list of snacks from my northern friends that I was told to try/find!
Hi Jann! It was a pleasure to "meet" you today! :) I would love to try an Earl Grey one, as I love this tea. It is a pity, that in Europe you can't buy anything from David's Tea. I hope you will have a wonderful day!
Awww thanks so much for joining in and saying hello! 👋 nice to “meet” you as well. I hope someday that DT can ship worldwide. That would be so fun. 🥰🫧 I’ve had giveaways in the past, so keep an eye out (feel free to sign up for my free newsletter), and I typically ship worldwide 🩵👏🥰🎉
I went on the website today and these are so outrageously priced plus you have to pay shipping. a 4 pack is $15. A 12 pack of name brand pop is $7 by comparison.
Oh yes, fair point, everything isn’t going to be a win for all budgets or all preferences. 👏 I’m willing to pay a bit more for something I’ll enjoy and savour rather than something that I find just ok. For example, I love to sneak a can or two of a cider into the shopping cart, from a local brewery that creates non-alcoholic options. They are $4 a can (so a bit more than DTs option), but for me, I’d rather have two of those cans than a 12 pack of coke. 😂 It’s so nice that there are so many options for people 👏🩵 thanks so much for joining in on the convo 🩵🥰
A few years ago I put some canned teas in one of my countown boxes, I think it was called sound? They were pretty good! There is also this brand called hoptea that I like very cool to have more options ❤❤❤ so good to see you making a video ❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Awwww thanks so much Naz! Yes, you always have such super fun and original countdown boxes! 📦 🤩 and it’s so nice to see lots of different options and companies bringing out more tea goodies. 🫧🩵👏🥰
Yeah I actually am waiting for it to finish uploading ❤😘😘😊 I love the sticker. I’m obsessed. I am also the recycling and environmental ambassador in my department. I work at northeastern university ❤
@@mbbeautea6986 oooh yes! Waiting for the upload can be a real struggle. Hopefully soon 🥰 I worked in the recycling/marketing industry for over 24 years. It’s in my blood. 😄 I’m so happy you are an ambassador for your university! 👏 ♻️
