I hope Garry feels better soon ❤️ Christmas time with my grandparents was spent in the basement with the fireplace on my grampa always had a tin of cashews! If we were lucky he would always share :)

It’s fun how certain foods just bring back memories for loved ones. My mom passed when I was just a little girl, but certain foods bring back memories of her. She was great in the kitchen. Thanks for sharing.

I love the NecessiTeas! Jann I’ve been trying to find the chocolate covered cherry tea & it’s sold out. I’ve heard great things about! I love the candy corn black tea! The cranberry orange scone. I absolutely love Lindsey’s teas! A real luxury experience in blended teas!

Hello and Happy Day 11! I hope your power stayed on (what do you do for heat when it goes out?!) When you were first sitting at the evening table, with just the rims of a few cups visible, I was excitedly expecting a little haul of new cups/mugs from that fab store Chapters (?). Don't know how you made it out of there without any of those adorable mugs!! Missed Gary (hope he's feeling better), but loved hearing about your childhood Christmas treats. When I was a kid, everyone made or bought fruitcake. Sadly, nothing like delicious Italian panatone, or any yummy English puddings, just the, IMO, disgusting and heavy American kind with bitter and yucky candied fruits. Until I discovered panatone as an adult, I didn't know fruitcake could be yummy. I used to do panatone every year, but have been trying other treats of the season the last couple years. I have some lebkuchen (sp?) to try this season (inspired by Bird and Blend's tea of the same name) and had some German gingerbread something last year, can't remember the name. I am crazy for gingerbread anything! Found a gingerbread coffee this year! Oooh! and gingerbread whipped cream!

I always feel like I am sitting around with two good friends having tea.Today I am drinking Pukka winter warmer in my Monet tea for one cup and teapot while watching. Sorry to hear about Gary I hope he will be okay. I remember the Lowney cheeries from when I was a kid, they bring back Christmas memories.

great story about the date nut loaf.. and the whole discussion about food and smells. It’s amazing how it can take you back in time. My mom used to make so many kinds of Christmas cookies. She would put each kind in a tin in the freezer in the basement. Of course I had to go down there and see if I could remove one without it being noticeable I’m pretty sure my mom must’ve known but she never said anything. I love it when the two of you chat it’s like I’m at your house with you.

What a fun day! Thanks for bringing us along on your adventures today 🩵💜 We had a talking tree at our mall in the 80’s, his name was Bruce the Spruce. I’m sure Woody and Bruce the Spruce are best buds 😊 I’m curious about “Tea shots! Tea shots!” Can’t wait to hear that story. The date nut loaf dessert sounds perfect with tea! Love the cake story. I think my dad's Christmas food would be those hazelnut chocolate shells. I always remember those. That or those big tins of hard candy.

I hope your power didn’t go out. Tea shots sound like fun! I like after eights but interestingly, Stash’s Christmas in Paris tea remind me of York peppermint patties. Did you notice that too? My favorite candy as a child growing up was pop rocks :) Yum!

Almond cake tea sounds so good! My commercial for Woody the Christmas tree world be, “Woody, frightening young children since 1981.” Just because he kinda scars me 😱. I’m very curious about the pee both restaurant. 🤣. I love the clear mug with the snowman inside! Maybe Next year get that advent 12 days of tea instead of char brew.

Yay for Vlogmas adventures! Have a vague memory of a talking Christmas tree in the 80s. Do remember from that time period the breakfasts with Santa... the Miller & Rhoads department store's Santa.

OMG A talking Tree! I remember Getting the Buffalo channel in Toronto as a kid and the Tonowanda mall advertising it's Talking Tree. NOPE! That hell beast is the stuff of nightmares. Great Vlog.

Woody is sooooo adorable and huge!!! We have a talking snowman name Archie that is that big that talks to kids like Woody. He is adorable also. I LOVE IKEA!! Ours is 30 minutes away from where I live. We are going at the end of this month. I always find goodies there. I hope Gary feels better very soon. My dogs were under the weather not long ago but probably because its cold here in Ohio. I'm ready for summer!! LOL

Thanks for sharing such interesting stories in this video! My grandparents always had After Eight too. I still see them everywhere. I have been craving chocolate covered cherries like crazy. I’d forgotten about the Lawney’s brand. I bought Queen Anne cordial cherries and I know these are good because I’ve bought them before. They’re also made in Ontario.

Thanks for taking us along with you today, I loved woody the tree! My grandma has always made me a plum loaf at Christmas, it’s full of raisins, sultanas and currents and baked in a loaf, very similar to a tea loaf. I have it with a little bit of butter but my Gramps has it with a few slices of cheese. I’ve tried to make it myself but nothing will ever compare to my Grandmas plum loaf.

What a strange and fun thing the woody tree. I really liked the food anecdotes. Wondering if Jeanette has tried Balzac's coffee? Is an Ontario Company I enjoyed a lot especially the Espresso Blend which is a medium roast. thought about asking since I saw them at the Chapters store

How beautiful, all our malls have been torn down and were replaced with regular shopping centers where you access each store from the outside so all the fun Christmas decorations are gone too. I'm an 80s girl so I miss the mall so much. When Jeanette was talking about the date loaf I think i do remember that. I feel like it may have been in one of those cheese and sausage baskets

I love that y'all try the teas and then switch... Everyone really does have different flavors they love. My dad loves green tea with mint, but hates it by itself... But my mom is the opposite 😂

That woody the talking tree, a bit scary. In terms of technology it’s quite interesting how they put him together. I love chapters. My favourite store. Loved seeing all the different tea cups, etc! I’m glad you made it safely home. And hope your power stayed on into today. That cake that Jeanette spoke of I think I remember it. It was probably displayed during the holiday with family gatherings. My auntie made a traditional carrot cake with raisins and cream every Christmas for dessert. I never liked it. My husband’s family they make wine cake. It’s a process. They soak dried fruits in port wine for a few months and then bake it. It’s good, with marzipan icing.
