Welcome to my channel. In all the woodworking I've done I like wood turning the best. So this channel is all about woodturning. I've had no instruction in wood turning. I'm teaching myself. It's not conventional woodturning...its my way. I really enjoy doing rustic wood turnings. I try to leave as much of the natural parts as I can. Alot of diy and homemade. Tools, projects, and accessories. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy.
Are you worried about the fire risk with that product? Those tealights easily get hot enough when they burn down to set light to the wood, especially if the applied finish contains flammable materials.
Ya, a lot of people think that. The truth is I've run lots of tests to see if I could get one to catch fire, but no luck. I did heat tests and couldn't get a hot enough temp to ignite the wood. So, I guess long story short. No I'm not worried. Thanks for watching!
@@randypenney6413 That's a very good option. I know for a lot of people, using the flame candles with wood will always bother them no matter how much testing is done.
...really appreciate your ingenuity...like your sharpening setup, and now a spinning lathe to solve a "no reverse" function...very well done...👍 Hard to hold a candle to you...😉🍻 Matt
I like your lathe setup. Is this a Harbor Freight too? The chuck is interesting. Did it come with the lathe? I am considering getting one of these lathes still. Love the crafts you create with it. 😊
There is no god and life has no larger meaning, other than for us to do the best we can. Humans are such a small part of the universe that what we do, or don’t do as individuals, doesn’t make a big difference one way or another. It made my life so much pleasant when I quit worrying about the meaning of life.

That little sharpening set up is absolutely genious I have considered making 1 with my belt Sander also but recently i broke down and got a 1hp rikon grinder and 2 cbn wheels with the wolverine jig and varigrind very happy with it bit that little set up you had could've saved me 1000 bucks lol love you videos watch every week great job
Fantastic. Really nice. It might be good to have a pack of colored sharpies to touch up any spots on the twine, if needed. As always really nice project. And a nice twist to a vase!!!
Some Olde Timey toilets used to have overhead tanks and you would flush them by pulling a chain. The chains would have handles something like these. That's what I was thinking of as I watched this -- though I was pretty sure "hot selling" wouldn't apply to such an item. 😁
@@shastastan1935 Ya that's a good idea. I've been trying to find a way to attach the chain to the wood. I think I found a way. I will be doing a video soon.
Please tell me , as a newbie without any bowl gouge in my arsenal...what should I begin to learn with ? Thank You again for your continued brilliance and taking the time to share and edit.
@@LBrown518 Thank you! I appreciate that! I know a lot of people start with carbide tools. Traditional tools like the bowl gouge require a way to sharpen it. I use a 1/2 bowl gouge 95% of the time. I prefer traditional tools if you have the means of sharpening.
...cool addition...think I'll try it on my next pot. And thanks for showing your sharpening station...my sander's base is different, but I'll figure it out... By the way, to double my sales, I cut my projects in half...😉 Matt
Thank you everyone for tuning in! I just wanted to add that you can use different colors with different types of wood. One of my most popular was a dark wood with regular brown twine. I added it in 2 places. On the neck and near the base. Gave it a rustic look. Also use medium CA glue. I ran out and used thin and it was a bit messy. Thank you all for your support!
It's good to know what your using. Thank you for sharing this. I have a parting tool like yours and I made one from an old bread knife i picked up at a used store. I flattened the teeth and then put a point on the end. I use it most of the time. I like your screwdriver tool. I might have to make one!
The only mistake i saw was the choice of sports team. I mean who would choose "x"?! "Y" is so much better. All joking aside, I didn't see any mistakes.
@@jasonhardin8383 You will be eating crow when they take the Superbowl this season!😁 Ok, all joking aside, I forgot to put finish on them before I parted them off.
